2024 ha sido un año de “urnas y armas” en el que sucesos como la victoria de Donald Trump en las elecciones estadounidenses o la caída de Bashar al-Assad en Siria han marcado el curso político. El regreso de Trump es especialmente representativo del avance de una lógica más geopolítica en la que el interés nacional prevalece sobre un multilateralismo en repliegue. En esta línea, hemos visto cómo en muchas democracias se afianza un tipo de política basada en el personalismo y en liderazgos fuertes que apelan a grupos concretos y no al conjunto de la población.
Por su parte, en este contexto internacional España ha visto una oportunidad para aumentar su proyección exterior y ganar mayor peso político en la Unión Europea con el reciente nombramiento de Teresa Ribera.
