Durante la pasada Cumbre del Clima en Bakú el agua tuvo un papel destacado y se adoptó la primera Declaración sobre el Agua para la Acción Climática. Este recurso se ve especialmente afectado por las consecuencias del cambio climático. Nuestro país ha venido experimentando algunas de ellas con especial virulencia, como sequías cada vez más intensas, lluvias torrenciales o fenómenos catastróficos como la reciente DANA.
El agua puede formar parte de la solución al cambio climático, como demuestran los ecosistemas acuáticos que son capaces de contribuir a la reducción de emisiones de efecto invernadero o su papel en la producción de energías renovables. Se trata de un recurso fundamental para la vida que también es clave en las industrias para la transformación verde y digital, lo que refuerza su dimensión geopolítica.
