Landbruget skal være CO2-neutralt inden 2050, og de officielle kostråd opfordrer os til at spise flere planter og mindre kød.
Verdens befolkning lever i dag af fire-fem afgrøder: hvede, majs, ris, soja og kartofler. Vi har et effektivt landbrug, men også et landbrug, som er sårbart overfor klimatiske eller geopolitiske ændringer i verden.
Derfor vil vi i fremtiden møde nye planter på spisekortet. Gamle kornsorter, som kan modstå tørken, vender måske tilbage. Og mikroalger kan blive en både vigtig og velsmagende kilde til protein.
Hvordan udvikler og forædler vi fremtidens fødevarer, så de både kan betale sig og smager godt? Det taler vi om i dette afsnit af Biosfæren.
