campaign 1, and I will be playing someone else in campaign

about playing drill? Hard one.
That's a hard one. That is a really hard one
because I feel like I have a lotof fun things about drill that I
really enjoyed. I think honestly my favorite
thing about drill was the one doing the most damage like in

every single fight. I think there was a very, very
few fights where drill was not the the main damage dealer.
I think our most was the like really confused Tony and make
the fights easier for us. And then Dan was a hybrid of
like doing damage as well as like buffing us.

And then I, my single job was just to like damage output, you
know, So I think that was the main thing I really liked, you
know, doing all the attacks, rolling all the, all the dice
and stuff. So sorry, Tony's dancing is
really throwing me off. I got this playlist is

What was the obsession over petsbecause you didn't have any
growing up? That's actually a really funny
question. No, actually, I grew up with
like tons of pets and I think that's kind of where it also

kind of stemmed from though, youknow, I have two dogs right now.
But I think mainly it was just like Armos had Resin old and
Menace had Sid, and I thought itwould be really funny.
Is like a character subplot linethat Drell just wasn't included
in having a familiar in his like, like what do they call it?

Like side quest was like trying to get 1.
So I just thought that would just be a really like funny
subplot, I guess. So I kind of just like really
went into it. I didn't mean to go into it as
hard as like with Horse as originally, but it just caught
on and everyone that was really funny.
So I just kept going with it. Horse is probably my favorite

just because it was like the recurring 1, you know?

What was your favorite charactergrowth for Drell?

(12:32):
Oh, that's such a good question.I think my favorite character
growth with Drell was sorry. Every time I look I just see
Tony Bob in his head. My favorite character growth
with Drell was in the beginning of the campaign.

(12:54):
He was very like, he thinks he could like take on the world.
He thinks he could fight anything.
I think it was literally episode1 where Tony's character, the
the lion dude was like yelling at drill and drills like
literally level 1. But he was just like all big
and, you know, thought he could fight everything.

(13:14):
And then through the campaign, Ithink Drill really, I guess
matured in a way where he decided where he needed to fight
and where there might have been situations where he didn't need
to and he can solve the problems, you know, whether
they're like diplomatic or like whatever it was.

(13:34):
So I think like really Drilled developing that that skill set I
think was probably one of my favourites.
Yeah, yeah. I feel like, I feel like he had
maybe one of the more straightforward, immediate paths
of growth where it's like, OK, yeah, this guy needs to, like,

(13:58):
kind of tone it down sometimes and then, like, train, right?
Like, even though my dad was big, I need to live up to his
spirit. But it's tried and true.
I love that kind of trope. You know, yeah.
And, you know, like one of the funny things was it was just
like, it came really naturally. It wasn't something like I
planned. So I just think it was it was a

fun just natural growth of like the character itself and also
just me learning how to play DNDand like the do's and don'ts of
DND and like what's a smart choice in DND and what's a bad
choice in DNDI think also playeda heavily heavy influence into
that as well. That's a good point.
Yeah, I'll tell you what episodehas one of the most the biggest

(14:42):
growths for Jerel, episode 88. When he turned into it.
Spoiler no physically growth or no no.
No. Character.
No, no character. This is episode you're more
about it. Go listen to our end of campaign
discussion. But yeah, Darrell yells at our
most admittance for being. Oh yeah, that's true.

(15:03):
Yeah. And for not making good
decisions. Yeah.
And I feel like it's so funny too, because like, I think we
forget in the campaign, Darrell is like the youngest.
Yeah, but he was like the one making the smartest like adult.
Not maybe a smartest adult grown, but like making the most

(15:25):
rational decisions at time whereour most and menace were both
more emotionally driven. Characters.
So yeah, yeah, 'cause Menace wasvery motivated by just pure
emotion and then Armos was very motivated by greed and like the
rage, yeah. Or we were kind of two sides of

(15:47):
the same coin as far as emotional.
Yeah, stuff goes, right? Yep.
And that was a really good segueinto I, I didn't mean to put
Papa Goblins back back-to-back, but I put these in an order that
I thought flowed well. And it, it kind of goes really
well into this question that they also had.

That is, is there an aspect of Drell you think you will be
bringing to your new character? I don't know, I've thought
really long and hard about how Iwant to play.
Well, I guess I could Castle I One of my main fears is he's

(16:32):
Drell 2 point O like I don't want that to be a thing.
So I'm trying to one of the things I'm currently still
working in on is developing. OK, what are his key personality
traits? And like, what is that look
like? You know, So I think there might
be a few things, honestly. I mean, just thinking of like

(16:57):
his back story. I you can already tell probably
loyalty is going to be a very strong characteristic that both
characters are probably going tohave, you know, stuff like that,
like determination, but as the way they go about and, and one
of the things that made drill soeasy was like, I love to crack

(17:18):
jokes. I love to like laugh about a lot
of stuff. So playing a character who might
not be like that, I feel like might be really hard for me.
So just finding like that middleground and making sure that this
character is like, when the listeners listen, it's just
like, dude, this guy's literallyplaying like a reskinned version
of Drell, you know? It's like something I don't

(17:39):
want. So yeah, true, true.
And it's hard because everyone'ssecond character came kind of
reflect those things sometimes, especially when you play them
for like 4 years. That's what I'm saying.
Like it wasn't like I was and and I feel like the one shot
characters that we do are like really easy because I put zero
thought into them and I'm just like, OK, I'm just going to be

like a shit bag for an episode. Like it doesn't matter.
Like I'm just going to like literally tread it like that.
I wasn't trying to like get the party killed, but like my
character in that other one thatwe did was just like, I was just
meaning the whole time. And I was just like trying to
like cause like a ruckus. But like this actually has like
the story has like length and potential to like go a really

long time. So I'm gonna try really hard to
like, not do that. Yeah, I'll be appreciate it.

personality difference between you and Drell though?
When you created him and did it change by the end of the first?

Contrasting personality difference between you and.
Drill personality difference, I was going to say obviously
height because drill was really tall.

(19:07):
And then like just like what's the physical difference?
Yeah, personality I would say like drill was really loud and I
would say like obviously I'm notlike a complete introvert, but I
would also say like I'm not a complete extrovert.

(19:29):
Like I would I would say compared to Drell, I'm a I'm a
lot more reserved and a lot morequiet.
Like I have my opinion and I will voice my opinion if I need
if I feel it needs to be voiced.But I think one thing with Drell
is he was making sure like he was involved in like a lot of

(19:50):
the decisions and a lot of the things that need to be done in
the campaign. And I'm probably a little bit
more relaxed and reserved than that.
So I think that would probably be the biggest personality
difference. And then obviously the physical
would be the hype for sure. And all the tests is.
Yeah, I think it's in his name. Drell was ready to yell.

Yeah, exactly. Yeah, he was rage and he.
Was and like a lot of rage, right?
Like I don't have that. Like I'm not like a very loud,
rambunctious person. Like I can be for sure.
Like I have my moments, but I feel like that was just a steady
thing to expect from Drell throughout the campaign.
And that's just not really Alec,I guess.

asks is there any NPCS or part of drills story or back story
that you wished could have been explored more or had more story
to them? NPCS drills back story.

OK, I mean, obviously besides like joking around with like we
just talked about it like horse and like all the other
companions. I think maybe like I, I, I feel
like it would have maybe been cool to bring Ruby spoiler

alerts by the way, because like that was one of the things.
So it's not technically an NPC, but I do wonder, like, how
different would it have been if Drell would have made the choice
to bring Ruby instead of leavingRuby where she was?
That was always really interesting.
And then, you know, maybe exploring and Tony might be able

to give a little bit more insight into into this.
But like, Lord Baron was also a Goliath, right?
But like, how familiar or involved was he with the
Ashbournes? And maybe the relationship
between Lord Baron and the Ashbournes or like maybe his
Goliath tribe would have maybe been kind of cool.
But I don't think there was anything that was like, damn, I

really wish we would have like explored that more.
That sticks out at the top of the list, I guess.

things we should do in the campaign.
And I'm like, you're right, we should have done that.

You know, usually it's like, OK,I could see why people might
have wanted that, but I'm happy with the way the story went.
But there was one comment someone had and I forget who
said it in the Discord that mademe go we messed up, we were
wrong, we should have done this.Someone said you should have
brought Aunt Dory with you to the fight to fight the wolf God

and had her die in. Combat I, I mean, that's
definitely something I, I, I don't really remember if Tony, I
talked about this before or after.
It was something that I definitely like in the moment,
I'm like, fuck, I I was very close to being like, hey, do you

just want to come? But I feel like Darrell's
relationship with Dory, it wouldhave been more like she would
have felt like she was stepping on toes, like it wasn't her
battle, it wasn't her mission. Like, yeah, it would have been
really cool for her to die knowing she was going to die
either way. And I, I, I did think that in

the moment, but I decided ultimately not to do that
strictly because I, I felt like Dory as a character would not
have wanted to intervene with like Darrell's destiny or
something like that. So sure, yeah, yeah, definitely,
definitely thought about. Yeah, definitely discuss for
sure, Dory. Nervous about it, that is all

the questions for campaign one. Is there anything you wanted to
say about campaign one before wemove on now?
Like just your thoughts on how it went, how, how drill was that
kind of stuff? Yeah, I mean, just thinking
like, obviously it being my first D&D campaign and the

length that it went, like you hear people talk about, oh, you
know, I'm in a 15 year long D&D campaign.
It's like, wow. It's like that's those people
have to be super emotionally tied to these characters because
I mean, ours, we went for like almost four years and it was to
the point where I was like, damn, dude.
I remember like when we finally stopped recording on the final

episode, I was like, that's crazy.
Like Drell and Menace and Armos and, you know, the world that
the three of those guys lived in, it's like over.
Like obviously we could revisit it with like one shots here and
there and maybe if we wanted to for fun.
But like the length of the storythe story's told, you know?

So it was like really like humbling.
I think it was like an overall really great experience.
And yeah, no, it was great. I loved it.
And before we move on, Tony, I think you should answer this for
every person when we do this. What What do you think was your
favorite thing about watching Alec play his first DND

campaign? Oh, man, when watching him cry
in the in the jail cell when, when you know what I'm saying?
That was my absolute favorite. It really gave him the
motivation he needed not only asa player but as a person to
really push those boundaries of role play, you know?

Ross who like plays jazz and snaps.

now, I was like it a little bit in the middle of the campaign.
I was, I think just talking about working out so much as
well. I was like starting to like work
out a lot. And then I stopped working out
almost completely and now I'm back to like twice a week.

I was eating really healthy and stuff like that, but now got to

would say I used to. I used to be almost in every
single aspect of every type of video game, every type of game I
would play. I either liked playing like the
heavy bruiser tank or like the person that's in the back doing
like all the support roles. Like those were like really my

two favorite styles of like playing really anything.
So and I was like, you know what, when I first, this is
going to be our first campaign, I'm going to do something I kind
of know a lot. So I'm just going to go melee,
pure melee. I guess like I I can, we can
kind of talk about it now, obviously in campaign too.

I'm pretty much going to be doing the exact same thing
playing a paladin. I'm going to be maybe having a
little bit more of a spell casting aspect to it, obviously,
Yeah, but yeah, yeah, no, I I like to play melee.
I like to play big bruisers upfront, tanking a lot of the
damage. So I was just like, let's do it.

Typically they are made-up on the spot, if not in the moment
where my character first has to speak.
I probably should practice my voices, but I don't.
I knew I wanted to do a voice withdrawal mainly because it was
going to be our first campaign. I felt like you couldn't have
all three of us just talk in ournormal voice.

So I thought just having a little bit, it wasn't like a
super big difference, but just having something that was like
contextually different than the rest of everybody talking I
think helped maybe with a littlebit of the.
Oh yeah, for sure. Not storytelling.
I don't know, like the not realism but like I can't think

of the word that I'm thinking of, but like it helped make it
feel more like a fantasy role rather than just like me, Jared,
Dan and Tony talking to each other.
Yeah. Campaign too is going to be
different. I to this day don't know if I'm
doing a voice. I've really played with it a
lot. That's a lot more where I would

say I've like practice voices. I've been like doing voices,
