Princip 2 i ramverket för Framtidens utbildning heter Förmåga att hantera omedgörliga problem för en hållbar samhällsutveckling och definitionen lyder: "Vid KTH utformas utbildningen så att studenterna utvecklar kunskaper och professionsbaserade förmågor för att kunna hantera komplexa och osäkra system i en föränderlig omvärld."
