Es una nueva versión de la serie de televisión del mismo nombre de 1966 y su secuela de 1988, y constituye la primera entrega de la saga cinematográfica Misión: Imposible.
Plot: Un agente estadounidense, bajo falsas sospechas de deslealtad, debe descubrir y desenmascarar al verdadero espía sin la ayuda de su organización.
