Hello and welcome to Fraud Busting New Frauds podcast.
It is the only podcast for female fraud professionals and their allies who want
to stay on top of the fraud awareness.
But we don't want to thrive professionally while maximizing their happiness
and having the courage to create the life to the audience. Hi, Tracy. Hello.

(00:32):
Thanks for having me. It's my absolute pleasure.
Hi, Tracy. I have been amazed with your background and the topic that you specialize in.
And I'd like you to talk a little bit about that. This is Tracy Brown.
Oh, got it. Okay. Well, remember, you have a bunch of other people for you.

(00:56):
So don't be afraid to chime in. I am a body language expert.
I'm ranked number three in the world. audience and
my job is to help people hello thanks for having
me deception hidden it's my absolute pleasure
uh tracy i have been amazing and i'm excited to uh um have our conversation

(01:16):
today you specialize and i'd like to ask you and i'd like to know everyone knows
a little bit about that about your background more efficiently oh got it okay
well remember you have a bunch of They're written for you.
Don't be afraid to chime in. I am a body language expert.
I'm ranked number three in the world. And my job is to help people learn how

(01:38):
to spot deception in plain sight.
Specifically use this in um the amazing
and i'm excited to uh well our conversation really
what we're trying to do here so i'd like me a situation where
you can your most important decision that being is why
detect isn't always about creating these gotcha moments most of the time it's

(01:58):
about using information that's previously been hidden in plain sight so that
you you can make different decisions right and because you know there's more
information available so that's why i help people want to do.
Thank you so much for this expert and let us ask the next question.

(02:21):
Really what we're trying to do here is create a situation where you can inform
your most important decision.
And why detection isn't always about creating these gotcha notes.
It's about using information that's previously been hidden in plain sight so
that you can make different decisions.
Right and because because you know that there's more

(02:42):
anyone available so that's what i help people learn
to do of possibly thanks so much for this
stop losses expert advice well you really want let me ask the next question
between the body language and the work and that comes about is because when
we start using our conscious mind as opposed like most time with institutions

(03:05):
sector what we do and what we say,
it's part of our memory, it's unconscious, it's not anything we have to think about.
When you start having to think about it, it's a more developed part of our brain.
Our brain gets into what's called cognitive overload, and something has to be sacrificed.
And what is one of the first things on the list, on the chopping block,

(03:28):
is your body language and your communication in general will start to...
And that comes about because when we start using our conscious mind,
as opposed to, like, most times with, for instance, a head nod,
this is yes for most people.
It's part of our memory. It's unconscious.
When they say something, like, I would never do that. When you start having

(03:49):
to think about it, you have the more developed part of our brain.
It's not always, but it can be. Our brain gets into what's called cognitive
overload. It's going on.
And something has to be sacrificed. and what is one
of the first things on the list on the chopping block is your body language
and your communication in general will start
to deviate just a little bit from your

(04:10):
normal patterns and so when you
see uh for instance a head
nod like this is yes for most people and they shake your
head left to right that's no when when they say something
like i would deception isn't true it is a sign of their head yes
stress and deception is always there can be a sign for
people who are not not right here cycle going on the

(04:31):
body language doesn't match so what we're looking for
that is wonderful and it's going to be interesting diminished on a small lie
a small lie where there's less consequence my next question less stress but
generally yes the body language same for me i can absolutely well the smaller
lies put less stress on the the system, right? Because really...

(04:54):
The problem with having an absolute sign of deception isn't true. It is a sign of stress.
And stress and deception is often connected for people who are not psychopaths.
So what we're looking for is to pay attention.
Because most of us are not paying enough attention.

(05:17):
Like we're barely paying attention to ourselves and certainly not paying attention
to what goes on outside of us.
And so the key is to pay attention and not rationalize away what we see in the moment.
You know, reading body language, it's really an intricate dance between body

(05:41):
language, tone, and words.
And also the context of information is to pay attention.
Because most of us are not paying enough attention.
Like we're barely paying attention to ourselves and certainly not paying attention
to what goes on outside of us. It's up to you to start to figure out what that
means for you and how you want to handle that situation.

(06:03):
And not rationalize away what we see in the moment.
And reading body language, it's really an intricate dance between body language,
tone, and words. and also the context of the situation.

(06:24):
What's easy to do is rationalize away the things that we see,
like, oh, he didn't really mean that.
Yes, yes, he did. Okay, yes, he did. And it's up to you to start to figure out
what that means for you and how you want to handle that situation.
When you can form your decisions, when you understand, like,
where is their silent disagreement?
Where do they agree with you? Where are they ready to sign the deal?

(06:47):
Do you need to keep selling events?
Because a lot of times you don't. You got them. All you got to do is close the deal.
Other times you need to know when maybe you're working with a group of people
and there's one bad apple who's going to spoil the bunch.
You need to know that as well. You need to know who the real decision maker is.
And these are some of the things that body language will tell you.

(07:09):
Again, from what I just said previously.
And you don't rationalize it away. When you can inform your decisions,
when you understand where they're silent, where do they agree with you?
When are they ready to sign the deal? Do you need to keep selling even?
Because a lot of times you don't. You got them. All you got to do is get a deal.
Other times you need to know when maybe you're working with a group of people

(07:32):
and there's one bad apple who's been spoiled.
So yeah, how to detect lies, fraud, and identity theft. It's available on my
website, which is TracyBrown.com, P-R-A-C-I-T.

your next keynote that you need to set the tone for your event and give people some tools.
So, yeah, How to Detect Lies, Fraud, and Identity Theft is available on my website,
which is TracyBrown.com, T-R-A-T-I-C-E-B-R-O-W-N-D-E-R-D-E-C-I-O-N-M-E-C-I-O-N-D-E-R-D-E-C-I-O-N-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-R-D-E-

(08:33):
And more importantly than that,
hey, why not hire me for your next event, your next keynote that you need to
set the tone for your event and get people to know how they walk away from the
event with and make an immediate impact,
speaking opportunity on their investigations,
on their decision making, and their personal lives, right?

(08:54):

website in the information about the book on the page of this episode.
So that the listeners who get it receive this information and know how to get

(09:17):
in touch with you in order to hire you for any opportunities.
When the economy is pretty good right now, when the economy goes down,
fraud and lies go up, right? Because people are trying to protect themselves.
And so is it any different from the pandemic? It's probably less than in the pandemic.
However, in terms of, let's say, proportion of lies and non-lies.

(09:41):
60% of people lie on their resume, you know, or in a job interview in a material way.
Do you think it's like, is it changing? I mean, that's just one statistic, right?
I don't think so. So I think it doesn't matter if flies are up and down.
They've been around for eons. The economy is pretty good right now.
Learning to detect flies is paramount to our survival as a species.

(10:03):
And also, is it going to be different from the pandemic? It's probably less than the pandemic.
Wait, don't take it lightly.
And that's because it can be the difference between. 60% of people lie on their
resume or in a job interview in a material way.
And then thousands and millions of dollars. I mean, that's just one statistic.

(10:24):
Right? Pay attention differently.
It doesn't matter if flies are up and down. We've been around for eons, right?
Learning to detect flies is paramount for our survival.
And also your survival as a business.
I'd like to ask you, don't take it lightly.

(10:45):
And perhaps women specifically in order how to deal with the difficulties in
their life or in their business,
in their work, and remain resilient. Wow.
Well, thank you so much, Tracy, for providing this information and insights.

(11:05):
I'm sure the audience will enjoy listening to our episode.
And in closing, I'd like to ask you a more broad question.
Question um any advice you can provide to people
and perhaps an innate knowing that specifically in order
thank you so much thank you um and thanks well my my my favorite thing is to

(11:39):
focus on your goals stay healthy What your objective is,
trust your gut, and don't rationalize yourself and your feelings away because
you have an innate knowing that will protect you.
Thank you so much, Tracy. One more time, it's been my absolute pleasure to have

(12:02):
