Max Muncy shares how close the Dodgers are which gave them leverage over all MLB teams. Yankees embrace talent over fundamentals. Run bases w/purpose and aggression. Yankees will self inflict harm according to a report by Joel Sherman - https://www.si.com/mlb/dodgers-simple...

  • Worst base running team by every metric. Value high to put ball in play
  • Worst positioned in outfield. Soto not a good right fielder and Judge is but in center. Soto should be played deeper while he’s to close so can’t track ball over him
  • Most people think you can mold talent to be elite but didn’t work for Yankees.
  • Dodgers don’t strike out much- put ball in play
  • Analytics focused on the guys not putting

Soto’s word’s to reporters

  • Negotiated through media by telling them he’s open to offers of all 30 teams
  • Scott Boras way! Just like Cole did after astros wearing Boras hat for post game interview. When lost World Series
  • Could gave false hope by saying he didn’t want to talk about it. Or shut it down the free agency talk. But the guy is about the money- heard some guys call him a mercenary
  • Dodgers or Mets w/Steve Cohen (hedge fund manager and owner)

Culture of dodgers embraces the Mexican heritage and Japanese so will dodgers acquire Rokei Sasaki or will Yankees get him? But now shows he has to stay in Japan - Chiba Lotte Marines are unlikely to post him for MLB this offseason, delaying his entry into the league for another year.

  • TEOSCAR HERNANDEZ TO STAY? Under free agency now. Signed Jan 2024 for $23.5M

Joel Sherman, "In Game 1, for example, Shohei Ohtani took third base on an error credited to Juan Soto for a bad throw into second base. The next batter, Mookie Betts, hit a sacrifice fly to center field to bring home Ohtani and tie the game 2–2. The Dodgers eventually won on Freddie Freeman's walk-off grand slam. In Game 3, the Yankees' poor base running was on display when the not-so-speedy Giancarlo Stanton was thrown out at the plate by Teoscar Hernandez. In Game 4, rookie phenom Anthony Volpe failed to score from second base on a double off the wall. The Yankees' mistakes really came back to haunt them in the fifth inning of Game 5. In one of the worst defensive frames in World Series history, the Yankees made three errors and allowed five runs—all unearned—to score with two outs. Aaron Judge missed a can of corn in center field, Anthony Volpe misfired a throw to third base and starting pitcher Gerrit Cole forgot to cover first base on a routine ground ball to Anthony Rizzo that should've ended the inning before a single run was scored."
