Measure ULA aka Mansion Tax increases real estate transfer taxes in the City of Los Angeles, which are levied when a property is sold regardless if the property owner nets or loses on the sale. The city of Los Angeles taxes all real estate transactions at 0.45% but with this new additional transfer tax also known as measure ula or homelessness and housing solutions tax. Taxes transactions between $5.15M to $10.3M at 4% of the sale price, and Those valued at $10.3M and above at 5.5% of the sale price.

What is measure ULA and why do you believe it is a harmful policy to Los Angeles County? Why did this pass and how? Why does the opposition (for measure ULA) want this?
