If it feels like everything is happening all at once, you’re not alone. The past is colliding with the present in such an intense way that it’s hard not to feel the effects. Disagreements, emotionally charged conversations, war, conflict, and suffering; it’s trauma on every channel and there doesn’t seem to be a way to switch it off. But there’s a powerful way to to turn this trauma into something new.

The pain we’ve experienced over the course of multiple lifetimes is stored in the same way we store data on our phones and computers, and if we don’t clear our cache our system slows down and we find ourselves entangled by old emotions, ideas, and memories. So this week Jost and Leon get busy dropping the f word: forgetting! Jost talks about the baggage we carry with us from our past lives, why we get good or bad vibes from people we’ve only just met, how the power of acupuncture can clear out old data and set us up to create new worlds, and how there are always guides around to help us (and one even pops up during the pod to remind him!) Leon talks about the messages behind the underrated masterpiece Tron: Legacy, the beauty of simplifying complexity through design, and how he totally forgot to have asthma.

Jost and Leon also discuss off-roading in inappropriate vehicles, how to (not) pull a bank job on a skateboard, the future of currency, the 5 elements, spontaneous self becoming, phantom limbs, and how we shouldn’t focus on forgiveness, but rather, forgetting.

Things tend to make sense in hindsight, but we can’t quantify, predict or plan for what comes next because it’s imperceivable. Analysts, historians and experts can’t give us a map for the way forward. Instead of trying to know what’s happening next we have to embrace the unknown, and pave our way forward accordingly. But the first step is to erase the old and bring in the new. Go forget yourself!
