In this episode of FutureX, Martin and Oliver speak to sustainable pioneer Professor Tom Woolley. Tom has always had a passion for tackling environmental issues after doing a lot of work with community groups.
In the 90’s he produced the “Green Building Handbook” which originally had funding from the Department of the Environment. Feeling later that the Green Building Handbook was a little negative in terms of its critique of conventional materials, he set about researching natural building materials and produced many other books such as; Natural Building: A Guide to Materials and Techniques, Hemp Lime Construction, as well as his latest book; Low Impact Building: Housing using Renewable Materials.
Listen to hear all about Tom’s journey through sustainable construction and learn about healthy and natural building materials such as hempcrete and the benefits of these materials.
