My weight training slash bodybuilding days started in 1999, and my next guest was one of the first people who’s blog I loved and when I first heard him on the early days of podcasting, I was blown away at his knowledge. And fast forward over 23 years later and I’m still learning from this guy. I like to have on guests that have survived all the trends, the fads and who’ve been around the block to understand that going back to basics is truly what we need to focus on whether it’s nutrition, lifestyle, or fitness. Dan John is someone I’m so honored to have on my own podcast after listening to him for decades! And his advice on fitness and specifically weight training hasn’t changed, and I love that. I love someone who knows the science and stays consistent teaching it apart from all the new confusing dogma about what’s right and what’s wrong in fitness that’s out there.
Dan John is An All-American discus thrower, has competed at the highest levels of Olympic lifting, Highland Games, and is the founder of Dan John University has spent his life with one foot in the world of lifting and throwing, and the other foot in academia. Dan has written a potpourri of books on training and fitness, amazing books and He also hosts The Dan John Podcast, and works with private clients from all walks of life including professional athletes and military personnel. But the most impressive part about Dan is that he has been consistently lifting since 1965. Today I’m excited to let you learn true fitness and keep it simple with regard to wherever you are in you Fitness journey, (and find out what the word "fit" actually means!) And as Dan mentions, training changes throughout life, so we have to continuously adjust our training and implement varying kinds.
