Jackie McGriff is a photographer, podcaster, and filmmaker dedicated to telling authentic, nuanced stories of Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities. As the founder of Our Voices Project, she challenges harmful stereotypes through storytelling that inspires action. Her journey into filmmaking began as an escape but evolved into a powerful tool for Black liberation, fueled by the realities of systemic racism and the need for change. Jackie’s work, including the Silent Screams photography project and In This Moment chapbook series, amplifies marginalized voices while pushing audiences toward meaningful activism. She also helps lead the Rochester chapter of Black Women Photographers, advocating for visibility and representation. Through art, activism, and storytelling, Jackie is shaping a world where diverse narratives are honored and empowered.
