Welcome back as we continue our Christian Women's Series on the Apostle Paul and his letter to the church leaders in 1 Corinthians. There has been much debate about this letter, specifically Chapter 14; the role of the wife in church. As we will learn, the confusion lies within this question, "Was Paul teaching eternal truth or was he simply responding to the needs of his time...or was it both?"
Today's show, we will examine the challenges Paul encountered in early Christianity and his response to specific problems within the church in how-to maintain order and how-to relate to one another. We will be focusing on Chapter 14, which is where the greatest misunderstandings are found that has caused on-going debates on the role of women in the church.
Was Paul's directive for wives to remain silent intended as a temporary instruction, or did he mean that all women should be perpetually silent throughout history?
We are going to answer this question in our show today. And you will be surprised by which Apostle who warned us about Paul's letters being "hard to understand" and how people will twist them to their own destruction. So LISTEN now! You won't want to miss this episode.
