In this origin story episode, we meet a 12-year-old Bridgette Mathieu on her first day at The Academy, a school for young witches. Though Bridgette comes from a long line of powerful magic users, she hasn't developed any abilities yet. After standing up to bullies targeting her friend Kylie, Bridgette reveals she believes an old family prophecy about awakening dormant magic could apply to her.
While the other students avoid Bridgette, fearing her supposed lack of powers is contagious, Kylie sees her courage and resolutely partners with her for class. Bridgette remains hopeful she'll unlock her own magic one day if she prepares at the Academy. But for now, she's forging a pivotal friendship with Kylie, united in their desire to confront bullies and break free from expectations.
