Lowell has always felt like an outsider in the magical world. Being surrounded by witches with incredible abilities while he lacks any powers of his own has made him jealous in the past. But now at age 15, a frightening experience makes Lowell realize magic may be more trouble than it's worth.
After barely dodging a dangerous magical prank gone wrong, Lowell's best friend Arun has a disturbing vision about him. Arun sees Lowell somehow gaining immense destructive powers in the future and using them against witches. Terrified by what he saw, Arun ends their friendship, warning Lowell that he's dangerous.
Confused and hurt, Lowell decides he's had enough of the magical world that's brought him nothing but pain. He makes the difficult choice to leave it all behind. But will turning his back on magic really keep trouble away? Or does an ominous fate still await Lowell and the witches in his life?
