Today is Wednesday, November 5th, 2025, and it's
about bouncing back and bouncing forward.
So point number one is resilience is about
rising much the way yeast rises in the
dough.
Not avoiding falls, but every journey faces bumps
and setbacks.

It's how you choose to respond that truly
matters in life.
Resilience means acknowledging challenges head on, choosing to
get up each time you're knocked down, and
transforming every stumble into an opportunity to rise
stronger and wiser.
Number two, guys, mental toughness is built through

(04:04):
daily practice.
It's not a one-time choice, but a
regular commitment.
Small acts like regulating your emotions and thinking
constructively add up over time, forging a mindset
ready to withstand adversity and pursue big goals
with clarity and, of course, some very big

(04:28):
strength.
Number three, guys, name your fears to weaken
them.
When you speak your fears aloud or write
them down, you strip them of their power.
This simple act is the first step toward
reclaiming control and moving forward with courage, no
matter how daunting the obstacles appear around you.

Number four, guys, maintain perspective.
This too shall pass.
Tough moments can feel all-consuming, but stepping
back reveals the big picture.
Remind yourself the challenges are temporary and that
every storm eventually gives way to clearer skies.
Number five, guys, build rituals that restore energy

and focus, whether it's a meditation, a morning
run, or a few minutes of reflection at
day's end.
Rituals anchor your resilience, providing the space to
recharge and refocus no matter what life is
throwing your way.

Number six, guys, learn from every setback.
Extract the lesson, you know, throw away the
bad, but keep the good.
Every failure contains a seed of growth.
Analyze what happened without judgment.
Take the lesson forward and transform mistakes into

stepping stones.
And that'll help you get greater and closer
to success.
Number seven, guys, use positive affirmations to strengthen
resolve.
Remember, it's not just about saying the meditation,
it's about believing and feeling the meditation.
Your inner dialogue shapes your reality.

Affirmations like, I am capable or I bounce
back stronger, train your brain to expect and
create positive outcomes, even when the going gets
tough.
Number eight, guys, surround yourself with supporters.
Not detractors or people that are going to
steal your energy and suck it out of

you.
The people around you should fuel your resilience.
That is very key.
Prioritize relationships that lift you up, encourage growth,
and celebrate your wins.
Even the small ones, guys.
Practice gratitude even in tough times.
Listing what you're thankful for, especially in adversity.

This rewires your brain for resilience, fostering resourcefulness
and, of course, hope.
Number ten, guys, number ten is a great
one, and that is develop a growth mindset
that seeks opportunity in struggle.
Believing in your capacity for change turns every

setback into a launch pad for new abundant
possibilities.
See, trouble has a stepping stone, not a
stumbling block.
Number eleven, adopt your goals without losing your
why.
Goals may shift with new circumstances, but your

(07:50):
core motivation should stay true.
Re-evaluate your direction without forgetting what drives
you.
Number twelve, accept help.
It's a strength, not a weakness.
Opening up to others creates bonds and brings
new perspective, reminding you that resilience often thrives

in community.
Okay.
Number thirteen, log your progress to see how
far you've come.
Tracking challenges and victories helps you visualize growth,
build confidence, and steady your resolve on the
toughest days.

Number fourteen, share your story to inspire others
and yourself.
Vulnerability is powerful.
By telling your journey, you reinforce your own
progress and help others discover their resilience.
Number fifteen, guys, break the challenges into what

I like to say as manageable parts.
Right?
Sometimes a big project is a lot.
When we break it down, it becomes a
lot easier.
Tracking big problems one step at a time
makes them less overwhelming and builds momentum towards

(09:17):
solutions.
That's key.
Number sixteen, take care of your physical health
for emotional resilience.
Movement, nutrition, and rest will fuel both body
and mind, keeping your capacity to rebound strong
even under pressure.
Number seventeen, embrace discomfort as training ground for

true growth.
Stepping outside your comfort zone is where transformation
happens.
Every uncomfortable moment is a chance to expand
your capability.
Number eighteen, rest strategically.
Burnout is resilience's enemy.
Deliberate downtime replenishes your energy reservoir so you

(10:02):
can bounce forward instead of burning out.
Number nineteen, visualize your tough times.
We all get them.
As a bridge, not a barrier, mentally, choosing
to reframe obstacles as pathways helps redirect stress

(10:26):
into, well, motivation.
And, of course, endless possibilities.
Number twenty, guys, reconnect with your core values.
I've talked about this many times.
I talked about this this week many times
as well.

(10:47):
Your deepest beliefs are an endless source of
resilience.
Lean on them when life feels uncertain.
And I know this can be a little
challenging.
I know you're probably saying, John, you know,
you don't know my situation.
You don't know what I'm going through.
No, I don't.
But I've been in challenging situations.

(11:08):
And I know that it's all about our
mindsets.
It's all about our belief.
And that's what gets us over the bridge.
That's what gets us to you know, the
promised land.
I think a lot of times, you know,
we see people like, oh, wow, they're great.
They're doing this amazing thing and they're on
the promised land.
But you never realized all the hard times

(11:30):
or the struggles, you know, that they went
through.
That's important.
And I think a lot of people, you
know, they miss that.
A friend of mine has a dog.
I'm sure some of your friends have dogs
as well.
And I went over to the person's house
many years ago and the dog opened the

(11:50):
door with his mouth.
I said, gee, what a smart dog.
And my friend's like, if you were here
a few weeks ago, you wouldn't have thought
the dog was so smart.
What do you mean?
Well, the dog was like gnawing at the
doorknob for like hours.

(12:12):
Looks like he learned how to get over
his challenges.
And he's able to open not just that
door, but any doorknob, right?
He's like, yep.
That is the hardest door in our house
to get out of.
And so if he could open that door,
he could open any door in the house.
That's pretty cool.

(12:34):
So sometimes we see the success and we're
like, wow, that's amazing.
But we don't see all the trials and
the tribulations.
Maybe in golf.
I remember the first time many, many years
ago when I did this, I swung.
It's like, oh, that's terrible, right?
And, you know, when I take the swing
now, it's like, it's a great shot.
Like, you didn't see what I did, you
know, 34 years ago, how I could barely

(12:55):
hit the ball well, right?
Or 50 years.
So I think those are important things to
realize, that perspective, and understanding that we all
have to grow, but we all grow at
our own pace.
And that pace is something that allows us
to propel forward.
Right?

(13:15):
I think if we were to think about
tomorrow, right?
And we think about the fact of tomorrow
is something that's uncertain, which it is.
But then we get through tomorrow and we
realize that tomorrow or that day wasn't so
bad.
And that we could overcome the challenges.

(13:38):
And that we can grow from them and
we can become a better person.
Not just to ourselves, guys, but to other
people.
Number 21.
Build mental habits of patience and persistence.
I've taught you guys a couple techniques.
One is taking the breath techniques.
I've showed you that, right?
Inhaling or just holding your breath and counting

(13:59):
for just a count of 10 or 20,
whatever.
My favorite is inhaling for three, holding it
for three, and exhaling for three.
That's a really great way to do it.
You know, endurance is, it's an attitude, guys.
It's not something we just do.
It's an attitude.
And I've always said before, our attitude, the
level of our attitude will dictate how high

(14:21):
our altitude goes.
Let me say that again.
Our attitude that we have will dictate how
high our altitude goes, which is our success.
Now, cultivating patience and sticking with your journey,
especially when progress is slow, is what creates
lasting change.

(14:42):
And sometimes gets people to give up even
before they get to the ballpark or before
they even get to the next drawing board.
They've already given up, and that's not a
good thing, guys.
Number 22.
Use mindfulness to anchor during storms.
We're going to get storms, but let's get
through the storms together and let's keep that

(15:03):
nugget of knowledge so we don't have the
same storm again.
Grounding yourself in the present helps you stay
calm and focused when chaos swirls around you.
And trust me, it will swirl.
But the key is that when it swirls,
you need to be aware of the lesson
later on so you don't keep swirling, right?

(15:26):
Number 23.
Keep a failure.
Resume to track growth through the setbacks.
Document what didn't go as planned.
You'll discover patterns, build self-awareness, and reveal

(15:47):
the true value in each experience.
And I think that's a hidden gem that
a lot of us miss, just like with
the dog, right?
Pretty smart dog, but if you saw the
dog several weeks ago, you wouldn't think the
dog was so smart.
It's around the door handle, right?
But we have to first learn and sometimes

(16:08):
we learn by trial and error.
Sometimes.
But regardless of how we learn, that helps
us adapt so we can become a better
person in life.
You know, I know if I was that
dog and I was trying to open that
door, I know how I would have felt

(16:28):
probably like, you know, this is crazy, but
I'm determined to open that door.
I'm determined to get this knob turned.
And maybe the dog didn't necessarily know that
it's about, you know, opening a door.
All the dog knew was that I just
want to turn that knob as much as
I can and see what happens, right?

(16:50):
Just see what happens.
Not knowing it was going to open a
door, not knowing what was going to happen.
But now that one knob is turned, the
curiosity to turn other knobs is there.
But because this knob, as I said to
you, was the hardest knob to turn in
the whole house, the dog could now open
any door, small, right?

(17:12):
This was the largest knob in the house,
so it could open any door.
It was the hardest knob too.
Number 24, guys, number 24, find humor even
in dark moments.
I know that takes a lot of skill.
A good laugh can bring fresh perspective and
lighten your load, reminding you not to take

(17:34):
everything too seriously.
So when we learned to lighten up, you
know, there was a great book out.
It's like Don't Sweat the Small Stuff.
You guys remember the book?
I'm trying to remember now who wrote the
book, but that was, when I say that
was an amazing book, it was called Don't,
yeah, Don't Sweat the Small Stuff.

(17:57):
And this book is, it's a pretty amazing
book.
Because everything in life, it's all small stuff.
It's all small stuff.
And so when we think about it, by
the way, if you're wondering, the book was

(18:18):
by Richard Carlson.
And so the whole concept of, you know,
life happening and worrying about the little details,
like I talked before about, you know, being
first in line.
That's all small stuff.
Don't sweat it.
It's not worth it.

(18:38):
Number 25, guys, number 25.
Resilient people reset quickly.
Remember that.
Resilient people reset quickly.
Resilient people reset quickly.
That's pretty interesting.
They don't ruminate about what's going on.

(19:01):
They just reset and they could start again.
You see, dwelling on mistakes keeps you stuck.
Nobody wants to be stuck, but unfortunately it
happens when you just dwell on mistakes.
You don't look at the lesson.
The resilient choose to move forward, making space

(19:21):
for growth and, of course, new goals and
new aspirations.
But I know sometimes you're like, John, I
don't get this.
I don't get what's happening.
Just like I talked to you about, don't
sweat the small stuff.
We sometimes make things so petty, like, you
know, what position of line you're in or,
you know, maybe it's the fact of not

(19:47):
that, maybe it's something like, you know, something
else very petty.
Could be, I don't know, it could be
how many times somebody calls you.
That's all small stuff.
Number 26, set boundaries to protect your inner
peace.
It's okay to say no to negative energy,

(20:10):
distractions, or demands that drain you.
I know I've learned this because I never
wanted to say no to anybody thinking that
I was being disrespectful to them.
What I learned is that by saying no
to people, I'm actually saying yes to myself
and I am refueling my batteries by saying
no.
I'm saying yes to me.
So boundaries are an investment in your well

(20:33):
-being.
Learn where these boundaries are in your life.
If you have to change them or adapt
them, that's fine.
But don't let somebody else make you sacrifice
your boundary or let's say, um, you know,
make a concession for it.
Your boundary is your right.
So enjoy your boundary, guys.
It's important.

(20:54):
Number 27, have a comeback plan ready before
you need it.
I think that's an important thing.
Have a comeback plan ready before you need
it.
Anticipating challenges puts you in control.
A backup strategy gives you confidence to truly
pivot without panic.

(21:16):
How many of you out there have a
backup plan?
A common one is a fire escape plan,
you know fire escape plans, right?
How many of you have more than one
way out?
I do.
So how many fire escape?
This is a good question.
How many fire escape plans uh should you
have?
How many?

(21:37):
So you should have at least two ways
out of every room.
And this means having at least two exit
routes for the room.
And in the primary exit, it could be
blocked or by fire or by smoke.
And for upper level rooms, a second way
out might be a window, potentially requiring a
fire escape ladder.
So a key to a fire escape plan

(21:58):
is two ways out.
Plan at least two escape routes from every
room, including windows and doors.
Clear exits.
Keep all doors and windows leading outside clear
of clutter and ensure they open easily.
Meeting place.
Establish a designated meeting place outside the home,
a safe distance away from building.
Where everyone can gather after evacuating.

(22:19):
Practice the escape plan with your family at
least twice a year.
Both during the day and at night.
Special considerations.
If you have a set of security bars
or windows, make sure they have a quick
release mechanism that everyone can operate from the
inside.
So these are very important things.

(22:39):
Don't panic.
And if you remember, if you have failed
to plan, then you have planned to fail.
So think about it now.
Be proactive instead of reactive.
As someone who's reactive, panics because it's crunch
time.

(23:00):
Okay, if you're proactive and you're anticipating and
you're ready, hopefully you don't need that.
Number 28.
Celebrate resilience milestones.
Acknowledge how far you've come.
Small wins add up.
Each one is proof of your growth and
strength.
So celebrate them now.

(23:21):
Number 29.
Resilience is contagious.
Share it often.
When you show others how to bounce back,
you empower them and strengthen your community.
Number 30, guys.
Believe in the power of second chances.
Everyone stumbles in life, but the chance to

(23:44):
begin again is always yours.
Seize it and you'll discover new infinite possibilities.
I think when we hear the word possibilities,
that frightens some people, but it shouldn't.
The fact that you have many choices is
a great thing.
Don't let the choices overwhelm you.

(24:05):
Just know that you have options, right?
If you go to a candy store and
you get candy, you don't just get one
type of chocolate, you get many kinds of
chocolate, right?
Enjoy the choices of life.
The choices may just open up some perspectives
you didn't know existed.

(24:25):
Today, I decided to take a walk in
town and near a place where they were
doing some demolition and getting rid of asbestos
and stuff like that.
And then I decided to walk past the
construction site and walk out onto a road
I never walked on before.
And I discovered some very interesting things and

(24:47):
businesses and a road that I never even
knew was there.
I discovered a storage place that was literally
right outside my backyard pretty much.
So those are pretty cool things.
Guys, let your energy attract the right people.
It's the secret to building a support network
that lifts you higher every day.

(25:09):
I know that you're probably wanting to click
on with somebody because it seems like the
right thing to do, but don't be so
quick to choose your friends.
Your family, you don't choose.
But be discerning in the friends that you
choose to make part of your inner circle.
You'll have lots of acquaintances, but be cautious

(25:29):
of the people you let into your inner
circle because they possibly could drain you.
You want to get people that can just
recharge your battery.
Your vision, ladies and gentlemen, shapes your legacy.
I want you to own it fiercely and
make every action, well, an investment in your

(25:52):
future.
That's pretty viral, right?
The fact that you want it to be
part of the future.
You know, each point in this episode today
was crafted to ignite conversation, inspire shares, and
underscore the profound purpose and impact of choosing

what's right in everyday moments.
Remember, what's right is not just when somebody's
watching you or when you're on camera.
What's right is what you do when no
one's watching, when you're alone.
I was at the park yesterday at school

and what's right to me was just pausing

The moment I picked up the rock, I
