And today's granular topic is Turning Everyday Actions
into Positive Social Impact.
By the way, that is Series 4, Show
42, Episode 3.
(02:13):

(03:17):

as re-listen to the Inspirations for Your
Life shows and the Jay Moore Tech Talk
show, which is every Friday.
That's BelieveMeAchieve.com after the show, and you'll
(03:39):
get some more insights to improve the quality
of your life.
So let's kick off with number one, smiles
can multiply kindness.
Yes, it can.
A genuine smile is more than a facial
expression.
It's a ripple effect waiting to happen.
Each time you share a smile, you offer
(04:00):
a silent but a very powerful potent message.
That is, quote, you matter.
This simple gesture can break walls, warm up
chilly rooms, and plant seeds of kindness that
spread further than you'll ever see.
Number two, guys, listening deeply makes others feel
(04:23):
seen.
True, guys, listening isn't just about hearing words.
We've said this before.
It's about making someone feel valued and heard.
When you give another person your full attention
(04:44):
without judgment or hurrying them, you show them
respect, value, and empathy.
This small little act can start to build
trust, solve some conflicts, and turn strangers, guys,
into friends.
(05:04):
Number three.
Number three is a very, very important one
I think you'll appreciate.
And a quick thank you lifts someone's day.
(05:27):
Gratitude costs nothing, but its impact is enormous.
A heartfelt thank you can validate someone's effort,
boost their confidence, and encourage them to do
good for others.
The power of appreciation can turn routine interactions
(05:47):
into meaningful moments.
Yes.
Number four, guys, reusing and recycling protect the
planet.
Every can you recycle or bag you reuse
is a vote for a cleaner Earth.
These everyday choices, simple, that you can make
(06:10):
will reduce waste, cut pollution, and inspire those
around you to do the very same.
You're setting an example.
Small sustainable steps create a future you'll be
proud to leave behind.
Number five, guys, sharing positive news spreads hope.
(06:31):
Hope is contagious.
When you take time to share uplifting stories
or celebrate others' wins, you remind your circle
that good things do happen.
This habit colors conversations with optimism and invites
more kindness into the world.
(06:52):
And I think that's something a lot of
people miss.
They miss kindness because a lot of times
they're too into themselves.
They're too into themselves.
Number six, greeting strangers builds connection.
A simple hello can turn on someone and
(07:17):
take them from an awkward silence into an
opportunity for friendship.
Whenever somebody calls me, this is my greeting,
and you can see how it will pick
you up.
Very, very easy.
And this is exactly what I say.
You know, the phone rings, voicemail picks up,
and I say something like, hello, you have
(07:40):
reached John C.
Morley.
I'm either on the phone or away from
my desk and do not want to miss
your call.
Please leave me your name, a detailed message,
along with the best time to reach you,
and time, whether that be cell, phone, fax,
or any other method, and I'll be sure
to get back to you.
Thanks for reaching out to me, and please
let me know any specific information that you
(08:01):
can so I can take any immediate action
on your behalf before I return the correspondence.
I hope you have a great day, and
I look forward to speaking with you.
That's an amazing sentiment, isn't it?
Something on that line, right?
So greeting people you don't know, whether it's
(08:22):
at a store, on a walk, or in
your building, breaks barriers and forges the community
we all crave.
At church, I know a lot of people
being involved there, but there are a lot
of people I don't know by name.
So I'm like, good morning, good evening, good
evening, good evening, welcome, good evening, good evening.
(08:43):
And I'll say 9 out of 10 people
do return the sentiment.
This morning, as you guys know, I was
traveling.
And when I was somewhere this morning, I
will tell you that I said hello to
everyone, but maybe out of 10 people I
said hello to in a row, maybe 7
(09:04):
or 8 people acknowledged it back, which is
not too bad.
Number seven, donating gently used items supports those
in need.
What you no longer need could be a
treasure for someone else.
Donating clothes, books, or gadgets ensures resources are
(09:24):
shared, not wasted.
Every donation is a step towards a more
caring, sustainable society.
Number eight, guys, volunteering.
A single hour changes a life.
You don't need a free weekend to make
a difference.
One hour of your time, just one hour,
(09:46):
can inspire hope.
It can provide help or teach a valuable
skill.
These moments add up to creating lasting impact
far beyond what you might ever envision or
imagine.
Number nine, guys, helping a neighbor fosters trust.
Whether it's carrying groceries or sharing a meal,
(10:08):
small acts of kindness with neighbors build trust
and mutual respect.
Over time, these everyday gestures create safer, more
united communities.
That doesn't happen overnight, guys.
Number 10, supporting local shops and businesses strengthens
(10:29):
your community.
Every time you choose local, you're voting for
character, creativity, and community resilience.
Shopping at small businesses helps families boost local
economies and keeps your neighborhood vibrant and distinct.
(10:51):
Number 11, guys, giving honest feedback helps growth.
I have a little acronym, consistent constructive feedback.
Authentic feedback delivered with empathy can be a
powerful catalyst for personal and professional growth.
(11:13):
It's an act of respect, showing you care
enough to help someone become their very best.
Number 12, guys.
Number 12 is offering encouragement refuels motivation.
We all face days when our energy might
(11:35):
drop.
Offering a word of encouragement can reignite someone's
drive and remind them they're not alone on
their journey.
Number 13, picking up litter preserves nature's beauty.
Each piece of trash you pick up is
a small promise to future generations.
(11:58):
A commitment to beauty, safety, and respect for
our shared home.
It's a quick, tangible way to leave every
place better than you found it.
Number 14, guys.
Teaching what you know empowers others.
Passing on your knowledge, no matter how simple,
(12:21):
empowers others to grow, solve problems, and succeed.
Every skill shared is a spark for innovation
and, of course, possibility.
Number 15, guys.
Checking in with friends prevents isolation.
(12:41):
A quick text or a call can mean
everything to someone feeling alone.
By choosing to reach out, you foster bonds
that help weather tough times and celebrate the
good times.
Number 16, guys.
Compliment, compliment, compliment.
(13:01):
Complimenting effort boosts confidence.
Effort deserves recognition.
When you notice the hard work behind a
success and offer a compliment, you build confidence
and inspire continued growth.
Number 17, guys.
Bringing awareness to an issue inspires action.
(13:26):
Sometimes the hardest problems persist in the shadows.
Shining a light on them through conversation or
social media educates others and prompts collective solutions.
Number 18, guys.
Practicing patience models respect.
(13:50):
Sometimes in a rushed world that we live
in, patience is, well, a superpower.
Choosing patience shows respect for others, pace, process,
and perspective.
A lesson, guys, that inspires the example that
you want to set forth.
(14:11):
Number 19.
Learning someone's story broadens empathy, taking time to
hear another person's story, enriches your understanding, and
deepens your empathy.
It's in those real raw details that genuine
connection is found.
(14:31):
And again, if you're trying to rush connection,
well, I got news for you.
It's not going to happen right away.
And I hope that can mean something to
you, that you don't want to rush or
push something.
All right?
(14:55):
I think a lot of people rush things
and then they don't get stuff, right?
Or they get upset because they're not getting
what they want.
Number 20, lending tools or a hand makes
teamwork real.
Collaboration isn't just corporate jargon that we spiel
(15:16):
off.
It's built-in neighborhoods and homes.
Lending a tool or helping with a project
knits communities together, guys, and gets things done.
Number 21, creating art or sharing music adds
(15:37):
joy.
Whether you sing, paint, or doodle, creativity lifts
spirits and invites joy.
Sharing your art, no matter the scale, can
brighten someone's day and ripple out positivity.
Number 22, respecting differences shapes understanding.
(16:03):
When you choose to embrace and respect differences,
you build bridges of understanding that overcome prejudice
and fear.
Diversity isn't just a value, guys.
It's a superpower.
And we never should discriminate for race, religion,
sexual orientation, creed, color, political party, never.
(16:25):
Number 23, guys.
Number 23 is one that I love a
lot.
And that is choosing kindness.
Choosing kindness diffuses conflict.
When tempers arise or flare up, kindness is
the soft answer that can calm and resolve,
turning potential battles into, well, productive dialogue.
(16:50):
Number 24, guys.
Asking, how can I help, opens doors.
Offer help, and you become the invitation for
progress.
Whether at work, home, or in the community,
those four words are often the first step
(17:11):
toward meaningful solutions.
You might be asking me, John, why don't
more people do it?
It's a good question.
A lot of people are hung up in
their own egos at the moment.
And that's really the truth.
That's really the reason why that happens.
(17:31):
Number 25.
Apologizing sincerely repairs relationships.
A true apology restores trust and heals old
wounds.
Being brave enough to say, I'm sorry, opens
space for reconciliation and fresh new starts.
(17:54):
Number 26.
Celebrating small wins motivates greatness.
Life is a marathon, not a sprint.
Celebrating tiny victories on the way to big
goals builds morale, keeps momentum high, and makes
(18:14):
every day more rewarding.
Number 27, guys.
Voting in local elections amplifies your voice.
Change starts at home.
By voting in local elections, you help decide
the issues and leaders that shape everyday life.
Your voice, when added to others, can turn
(18:37):
the tide.
I'm not just talking about those kind of
elections.
I'm also talking about school board elections.
You know, the people you pick, making sure
that it's not a political game, that you're
picking the right man or woman to lead
the school's board.
That's important.
Maybe it's a homeowner's association board.
(18:58):
This all matters.
Number 28, guys.
Sharing a motivational quote lifts spirits.
Words have immense power.
A well-timed quote can lift, inspire, and
encourage.
Sometimes, just when someone needs it most, you
(19:21):
come up with the quote.
Number 29, turning a routine into a ritual
can be uplifting.
When you infuse your daily routines with intention,
turning them into personality, meaningful rituals, they become
sources of purpose, reflection, and positivity, that is.
(19:43):
Remember, guys, it's important to embrace turning these
everyday actions into what I call these magical
miracles.
I was talking to somebody the other day,
and I was helping them with something.
And I said to them, how did you
know that I would help you?
(20:04):
I didn't.
I just had faith that you would.
I heard that, and I felt so touched
that he believed enough in faith that I
was just going to do it.
(20:26):
I think faith is really important.
Faith is knowing something will happen without having
any written proof or other proof.
It also means we can have agreements with
handshakes.
A lot of people think I'd be crazy
to do that, but you can still do
that with some people.
(20:46):
I think building a relationship and then making
sure you nurture it, just like a plant.
Nurturing a plant is not easy because you
have to make sure it gets the right
sunlight.
You have to make sure it gets enough
water.
You have to make sure it gets enough
Miracle-Gro or a different type of food.
The soil is proper.
Make sure there's no pests on the plant,
(21:09):
so you have pesticides and things like that.
Maybe you talk to your plant.
So everyday actions.
What else can you do every day?
Well, I told you you can volunteer at
a shelter, whether that's a food kitchen, whether
that's helping somebody make sandwiches for some underprivileged
(21:31):
kids that can't afford it.
Maybe you're volunteering for a local group, like
maybe it's a local Y, and you're volunteering
to help out the runners or something like
that.
So there's lots of things you can do.
You can volunteer to maybe check in on
(21:51):
a senior that maybe needs some help and
doesn't have any loved ones.
Maybe a good act you can do might
be writing a card and sending it to
somebody.
Maybe you may visit somebody, somebody that just
wants nothing more than your company.
(22:16):
They want the privilege and the gift of
conversation.
Many of us take conversation for granted.
But a lot of people can't have conversation.
They don't go anywhere to get conversation.
So when they get a little like, oh
my gosh, they're like so inundated by the
fact that they're getting conversation.
(22:39):
I think that's important to understand that what
we can do and how we can turn
these everyday actions, something as simple as I
told you, like a smile.
You can hold a door open for somebody.
Maybe you're parking, and you notice somebody.
(23:01):
I know a lot of meters aren't like
this now, but maybe you notice the time
is low on the meter, and they're nowhere
in sight.
So you put a cup of quarters in,
and they come back, and they're like, oh
wow, somebody paid for my time.
Hopefully that makes them think, well, I should
do the same thing for somebody else.
I should pass it on.
(23:23):
There are two days in the year.
One is National Kindness Day, and then there's
another Kindness Day in another part of the
year.
And these days are amazing.
But there's a lot of people that don't
spread their wings to help.
I think making the choice to take an
(23:45):
everyday action.
You could cook for somebody.
I said you could go shopping for someone.
You can give someone your company, your conversation,
your knowledge, everyday actions.
(24:06):
Maybe there's someone you can go to church
with, make them feel better.
Maybe you can offer a compliment to someone
that doesn't get compliments that often.
But give a sincere compliment, one that really
matters, not one that you're trying to use
for flattery.
(24:27):
And I think if you do this from
your heart, guys, you don't do it for
any other reason, but from your heart, the
person's going to feel better.
And they might say, what can I do
for you?
And what I usually say to them is,
nothing, just pass it on to someone else
(24:47):
that needs it.
You could be at a gas station.
Maybe there's a mother in the car, and
maybe she can't afford to fuel the whole
car up, and she's got a couple kids
or one kid.
And she can't afford to fuel the car.
So you go to the gas attendant, and
you tell them you're going to pay for
her gas to fill her tank up.
(25:08):
These are little things you can do.
And I know they don't sound like a
lot, but they're blessings in disguise.
If you know somebody that needs a job,
you can maybe help refer them somewhere if
you have a connection.
(25:29):
I think a lot of people today are
very focused on themselves because of the way
they were brought up.
I'm not saying you shouldn't take care of
yourself.
I always say you have to have your
own cup full first before you can help
others.
But I do say you should help others.
(25:49):
I do say you should reach out.
I'm not telling you to give your entire
day or your entire weekend.
I'm saying give an hour once in a
while.
It doesn't have to be every week.
It could be once a month.
It could be every quarter.
Just give an hour, and you'll find that
that hour you gave will probably help you
(26:11):
discover some of the best, biggest blessings in
your life.
Everyday actions, guys.
Start with a smile.
A smile.
A smile.
Everyday actions into positive social impact.
(26:32):
We know that we can do something that
could be negative, right?
You know what's going to happen?
That's going to ripple that way, and we're
going to feel the negativity back.
If we do something positive, they're going to
feel it, and we're going to feel it
back too.
So realize life and our actions and emotions
operate like a boomerang.
(26:54):
A boomerang is when you throw it, it
comes right back to you.
But when you give, don't look for anything
in return.
A thank you is nice, but don't expect
it.
And remember, guys, letting go is not weakness.
(27:16):
I've said this many times.
It's wisdom.
Every day is filled with opportunities to turn
small actions into powerful social impact.
Stay inspired and keep spreading positivity wherever you
go.
Your energy is contagious.
Keep it positive.
