Linda is a democrat member of the Texas State House of Representatives. This week, she’s giving us an update from her political office, in a new segment we’re calling “Talk me off the lege”. Last week, Linda and the rest of the reps voted on a key piece of legislation: vouchers for private education. Families are being given vouchers that potentially drive funding away from public schools in Texas. Texas and fellow Texas House democrats voted against the legislation to protect families and support public education; republicans by and large voted for the legislation–and won. In this episode, Linda unpacks what happened in this legislative session, and the impact the passage of this legislation will have on Texas residents.
