A few months ago, Grier Rubeling posted on LinkedIn a message that voiced her frustration over the persistent negative stigmas that working women continue to endure.  It was jarring, raw, and so true.  She talked about gaps in gender expectations, responsibilities, dress, and pay, but the overarching issue was attitude.  Male attitudes toward women.  From passive-aggressive behaviors to downright disrespectful comments, she seemed flabbergasted that in 2022 the financial services industry had not been involved.  This industry, so full of men, still hadn’t figured out how to foster and include women.

On our podcast Journey: The Financial Advisor Experience you’ll hear her determination to change the stigma of women and the behavior of men.  She’s not holding back but let me digress.

I met Grier Rubeling during the financial crisis of 2008.  She was new to the financial services industry.  She worked as a client service associate in Baltimore for first Smith Barney and then UBS.  She would eventually find her expertise in helping financial advisors transition assets from one firm to another.  That sentence seems simple, but this operation is enormous and very detailed.  Mistakes during this transition can lead to compliance and legal headaches for both the advisor and the firm involved.  Grier became the Baltimore UBS branch transition consultant but had a larger goal.  Following her entrepreneurial spirit, she founded Advisor Transition Services in 2018.

Now she is a leader, mentor, business owner, mother of two, wife and so much more.  I’ll let Grier speak for herself.  Please join Journey: The Financial Advisor Experience/ The Grier Rubeling Story.
