مهوش کیان ارثی سال ۱۳۳۲ در شهر آبادان به دنیا آمد. لیسانسش را دررشتهٔ روزنامهنگاری گرفت و برای گرفتن کارشناسی ارشد سال ۱۳۵۸ به امریکا مهاجرت کرد. بعد از برگشت به ایران ده سال در مجلهٔ زن روز فعالیت کرد و یادداشتهایی با موضوعهای زنان و مسائل اجتماعی مینوشت. از سال ۱۳۷۶ شروع به مصاحبه و گفتوگو با مردم کوچه و خیابان کرد و بعضی از این گفتوگوها را در روزنامههای مختلف منتشر میکرد. بعدها این گفتوگوها را در وبلاگ شخصی خودش هم منتشر کرد و هنوز هم ادامه دارد.
وقتی پسرش پویا به دنیا آمد، بیشتر وقتش را صرف آموزش پسرش کرد و بعد از مدتی متوجه شد که پسرش مشکلی در یادگیری دارد. همراه همسرش، تلاشهای زیادی برای فهمیدن این مشکل و راههای مواجه شدن با آن انجام دادند و بعد از سالها زندگی با این چالش، کتابی نوشت به اسم «پسر دیرآموز من»
با مهوش از تجربههایی که در زندگی با پویا داشته و چالشهای یک بچهٔ دیرآموز حرف زدیم.
