Tällä viikolla tarkastellaan kestävyysurheilua ensihoidon näkökulmasta. Mitkä ovat tyypillisimpiä esimerkiksi triathlonkisoissa kohdattavia potilasryhmiä, miten niitä tulisi hoitaa ja miten ensihoidon näkökulmasta tällaisiin urheilutapahtumiin olisi hyvä varautua? Käydään myös läpi minkälaisia vaikutuksia kestävyyslajien rääkki aiheuttaa ihmiskehossa ja mikä ehkä saa ihmiset hakeutumaan näiden lajien pariin. Jakson vieras tuntee aihepiirin sekä urheilijan että kliinikon näkökulmasta. Kari Heinonen (@gartzah) on anestesiologian ja tehohoidon erikoislääkäri ja innokas triathlonin harrastaja. Hän on työskennellyt sekä ensihoitolääkärinä että urheilutapahtumien päivystävänä lääkärinä, kilpaillut urheilijana neljä triathlonin täysmatkaa ja lukuisia puolimatkoja. Lisäksi hän istuu Suomen triathlonliiton hallituksessa.
