Я люблю стариков, У которых в душе сохранилось Все, чему их учили отцы, Что учило их жить И так крепко их сердцу привилось, Что остались рубцы.
Я люблю стариков, Не брюзжащих, сварливых, угрюмых, Оттого что их «била судьба», Но глядящих вперед С затаенною тихою думой Под морщинами лба.
Я люблю стариков, Их степенную неторопливость, Их уменье вполне отдыхать, Их молитв прямоту, Слов разумных святую красивость Я хочу перенять.
Я люблю стариков, Совершивших земное скитанье Там, где след был оставлен Христов. Я учуся у них И ценю их уменье и знанье. Я люблю стариков!
