(00:00):
Welcome back to the show, my friends. It is Wednesday again already.
It is halfway through the month of September.
Things continue to fly by.
However, I also am excited about that new feeling in the air.
The feeling that's telling me that a change of seasons is coming.
And what better way than to transition
(00:22):
into a new season well than by
deciding if there is something that
you are going to set a goal for and work towards to improve in this next season
and so for us for this final quarter of 2024 when we get to October then that
(00:43):
is the final quarter of the year, right? October, November, December.
So my encouragement for you and what I've been thinking about a lot lately is, even for myself,
what am I going to really dig deep into and hone in on to try and improve and
reach a goal for by the end of this final quarter of 2024?
(01:04):
There is no time like the present to get started with something new.
Because if you continue to put it off and wait and be scared or be hesitant
because you think you don't have the time or whichever.
All these excuses really hold us back and that has really been hitting home for me lately.
So long story short, today's
(01:26):
episode is inspired by my
reflection on this new coming season coming up
and how it is my dream and
desire for this next season to really
dig deep in a way that is going to help you any of you on the other side of
this microphone who are desiring to find a way to have a cleaner home a cleaner
(01:53):
home on a consistent basis I want to dig deep and make it possible for that to happen for you.
So as I've been reflecting on that, then it has led me to this episode for you guys today,
which I am going to share some simple tasks that you can incorporate into your
daily routine for a cleaner house. So let's dive into it.
(02:19):
Hey there friend. Mom to mom, I'm wondering a few things.
Do you feel like you're drowning in clutter and messes? Are you struggling to
find the time to work on your part-time job or your side hustle from home because
of all the chaos around you?
Do you wish that you had a more organized home but you don't know where to start
and even if you did, you're wondering how am I even going to stay consistent at this?
(02:44):
Well friend, I am so excited to meet you where you're at. I'm Amy.
I'm a busy work from home mom of four young kids. And like you,
I used to feel stressed by the mess.
I wish I could feel at peace in my own home. And I wanted a way to manage my
house while finding the time to work.
But I kept telling myself I don't have the time to do it all and that it was pointless to even try.
(03:10):
Until I found simple systems to keep my house, work, and life more organized, even with little kids.
In this podcast, you will find tips
for creating simple home organization systems as a work from home mom.
So you will finally feel able to be consistent and feel at peace in your own home.
(03:34):
So brew some coffee, pack up the kids for a car nap and let's go my friend,
because it is your time to learn.
Music.
So my friend we are continuing to dive into
the topic of how to have a cleaner home how
(03:55):
to have cleaning schedules cleaning routines all this goodness because
i feel like it is something that we need to
address and something that we need to work on and so like i
said in the intro because it's this feeling of a
new season creeping up on us and just with
even what my own goals are I want to
be able to take what I have as
(04:16):
my own experience and the experience I'm helping others achieve
in my coaching program I want to be able to bring
that to you in a way so that you can also enjoy having a more consistently clean
home overall with simple methods simple things that are easy to do because we
do not need to be making things harder for ourself I am all about simplicity
(04:39):
I am all about the progress over the perfection.
You know that if you have been with me for any amount of time.
So like we talked about last week when we touched on routines and how you can
have a cleaner home by implementing certain things to create a cleaning schedule,
we talked about routines a little bit in last week's episode.
(05:01):
So as we said, routine means it is a series of events regularly followed or a fixed program.
So did you know that there are simple daily tasks you can add into your daily
routine? Emphasis on the simple.
That you can do to keep your house cleaner overall.
(05:22):
I wanted to bring these five tasks to you today that all take 15 minutes or less to do.
And when you incorporate these tasks into your daily routines,
you are going to be able to keep things cleaner overall.
(05:43):
Because if we are taking daily action against that clutter, chaos,
mess, all those things that comes with having a busy household,
you will find it easier to keep other things clean over time.
So I have a task that you can add into your bath time routine,
your post-supper time routines, your laundry routines, your before bed routines,
(06:05):
and your morning routine.
So if you're ready, let's jump in. so I
have actually always had these certain habits that
I performed throughout the day and throughout the week that
have helped me to keep a cleaner home with less
effort that I almost didn't really realize that I was doing I think so often
we do things a certain way for so long that we forget that we're we aren't we
(06:31):
what am I trying to say we forget that other people might might do it a different
way than us. That's what I'm trying to say.
However, so it's almost like there's this checklist in my brain that it's pulling
me, pulling up to remind me to do certain things throughout the day.
And what I've been thinking about more and more is how to take what I'm doing
(06:54):
on a regular basis anyways,
and how to actually turn that into something for my coaching clients to implement
so that they can have a cleaner and tidier home overall as well.
So it has really opened up my eyes that sometimes we're doing things.
Are so simple to us because we've been doing them for so long,
(07:16):
but it's actually a tip or a trick or a routine that someone else may not realize
that they could be doing in order to make things easier.
So for example, my central vac hose, the hose for my central vacuum,
it used to just be out on the floor constantly because I was vacuuming that
often. And you might think, why?
(07:37):
Why were you vacuuming so often? Isn't it pointless? But I was just in such a routine,
or a habit, whatever you want to put it as, of that as soon as a mess,
like as soon as someone spilt something on the floor in the kitchen or whatever,
you vacuum it up right away. Like you just deal with it right away.
So for example, that habit of dealing with that mess right away,
(08:00):
right as soon as it happens is something that sometimes can get overlooked but
is actually so very powerful.
So that is why today I wanted to share five tasks for you to implement into
each of the routines that I am going to tell you and if you implement these
(08:20):
tasks into these parts of your daily routine,
you will notice things being cleaner and being easier to clean and maintain
and all those good things and to help you be more consistent.
So your very first task that you are going to incorporate into a routine is this.
(08:40):
Routine number one, the bath time routine or the shower routine for you and the kids.
And this is the task that goes with it.
Rinsing out the tub or the shower as soon as you're done with it.
Again, in theory, this may sound so, so simple, but it's actually so powerful.
When you are getting your kids out of the tub, rinse out the tub as soon as
(09:04):
they are out, as soon as you're able.
Rinse it out with the wand. Use your hand to kind of rub around the outside
of the tub quick as you're rinsing to get that soap scum and dirt and grime
down the drain right away before it has a chance to dry and harden on there.
And the same for your shower. So you're going to incorporate this super simple
(09:28):
task that literally takes a minute into your kids' bath time routine and into your shower routine.
You're going to make a practice of rinsing off the walls of your shower,
get off that soap scum, the shampoo, the shaving cream, all those things off
the walls before it has a chance to harden and dry.
Why? Because it's going to keep your tub and shower cleaner overall,
(09:51):
allow you more time in between cleans, and help to prevent things from caking
and building up and getting grimy as it dries.
Okay, so again, routine number one is bath and shower time routines,
and the task that goes with it is rinsing things down when you're done.
Number two, this is for your suppertime routine, your post-suppertime routine.
(10:14):
And the task that goes with it is vacuuming.
Okay, so again, your post-suppertime routine and vacuuming.
This is a 5 to 15 minute task. You can delegate it to your kids if you have
older kids that can handle this. And it is so important.
Again, these are so simple. We might overlook them. We might forget about them.
We might think, does it really make that big of a difference?
(10:37):
But it does. It really, really does.
So you are going to pull up the chairs and the bar stools.
You are going to quickly vacuum your dinner time and supper time prep area,
your kitchen and your dining room.
Give that a quick vacuum. It'll take you probably less than five minutes and
bonus points if the kids do it as one of their chores.
(10:58):
And you're going to do it every single night as part of your post-supper time cleanup routine.
Even if it doesn't seem that dirty, you're going to do it
anyways because you are going to stay on top of the crumbs and the grime and
the dirt as soon as you're done eating so that there is less of a chance of
it getting tracked all over your house and making the whole house dirty okay
(11:20):
tip number sorry task number three for your morning routine.
This is a 15 10 15 minute task that you're going to incorporate into your morning
routine to keep things cleaner overall.
You are going to incorporate this task of a quick, tidy.
Of your getting ready spaces. What do I mean by that?
(11:43):
Any spaces that you use in the morning to get you ready for the day,
the bathroom, the laundry room, the bedrooms, wherever people are dumping clothes,
pulling out brushes, ponytails, all those things.
As soon as that morning getting ready routine is done, spend 5,
10, 15 minutes quickly tidying up that space.
(12:05):
Again, delegate it if you can and it
will make a world of a difference because then when you're
coming back into those areas they're not
just full of a mess okay task number four this is something you are going to
add into your morning routine again task number four morning routine about five
(12:27):
minutes you are going to throw a load of laundry in now i understand everybody
has a different laundry routine.
Everybody has kind of a different way that they do things, but this is what
I do and it works really good and I think it's super simple.
One of the very first things I do in the morning is throw a load of laundry in.
(12:48):
Sometimes this is before I'm even dressed because the reason why I'm doing this
is so that then by the time you are done your morning routine of getting dressed,
getting ready getting the kids fed all those things you already
have a clean load of laundry done ready for
the dryer ready to keep the laundry flowing we're
(13:08):
moms you got lots of kids there's always laundry to
do right now however I do encourage
you to create an entire system around your laundry routine but that's kind of
a topic for another day that's something that I do like to talk about and to
help you with in the coaching calls as well so just keep that in mind that That
(13:28):
if your laundry routine could use a little love,
we can definitely, definitely address that.
So again, this is five minutes for your morning routine. Add in that task of
throwing a load of laundry in.
The last task, task number five, this is going to be 15-minute task that you
(13:49):
add into your bedtime routine, okay?
Again, bedtime routine, 15-minute task.
These are your tasks. You are going to make sure your kitchen is reset for the night, okay?
So I'm talking dishwasher is running or the dishes are all out of the sink and washed and clean.
You can leave them beside your sink to
(14:12):
dry you don't like you may as
well let them dry overnight and put them away in the morning that's totally
fine i always let my dishes just
air dry but however the point
i want to make is that washing a couple dishes quick always
is faster than we think it is so just wash
the dishes get them done get them out of the way get them
(14:34):
clean before morning okay then the
next part of this routine is make sure
the living room and dining room is reset and put
away make sure that the bathroom counters are
reset and put away and lastly make sure
that you have some clothes set out for the next morning to make that morning
routine smoother and easier to do and to get it done quickly so those are your
(15:01):
five super simple tasks that all It will all take less than 15 minutes to do, I promise.
And by doing these tasks in those routines that I said to do them in,
you are going to be able to maintain cleaner spaces and a cleaner home overall
because quite often it's the daily things that build up over time.
(15:24):
Make it become unmanageable, overwhelming, and look super messy.
If we are nailing this daily reset that we need to do, it can make a world of difference.
And so again, I walk you through exactly what to do for a daily reset and a
weekly reset customized to your home, your life, in my coaching program.
(15:46):
This is a newly reopened, revamped coaching program because Because what I have
started to realize is that the cleaning, we can take it for granted thinking
we've got this under control.
I clean every day anyways, like I don't really need to improve it.
However, it can actually be something that when we systemize it,
(16:07):
optimize it, improve it, make it flowing really well, it frees up more time
for you to get organized in other areas of your house and your life.
So that's why I want to tackle this particular system with you guys first through this coaching program.
And I just think it's so crucial that we get this figured because I was kind
(16:29):
of taking for granted that in my own personal life, I have a cleaning routine and system going.
And so I kind of was overlooking the fact of how important it is.
However, I've come to realize that now as I'm getting to know you all more,
that if our house is messy and it's making us feel overwhelmed, it doesn't feel good.
(16:49):
And so if we can find a way to like I said do
the reset remedy which is what the program is called
get your house reset with a simple plug and play cleaning schedule that you
can do every day and every week and then we can build on it and slowly get to
the place where you've got your cleaning like 100% locked and loaded it is easy
(17:13):
to do easy to keep track of all those things.
However, this is a really great starting point. So I would invite you to join
me in my coaching program.

It is a way for you to say, these are my problems

I'm really looking forward to doing that with you again I just think that this
(18:24):

it done I don't want that to be a stress point for you you anymore.
