Cecilia Scorza-Lesch ist promovierte Astrophysikerin, Koordinatorin der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit der Fakultät für Physik an der LMU, Autorin und vieles mehr. Wir haben uns auf eine Melange getroffen und über ihr bewegtes Leben zwischen Venezuela und Deutschland, Publikationsdruck und Familie, Forschung und Wissensvermittlung gesprochen.
Cecilia kommt 1989 mit ihrem Physikstudium in der Tasche aus Venezuela in Heidelberg an, um den PhD zu machen. Sie sagt, in einem männerdominierten Bereich war es für sie „am Anfang ein Schock, eine Frau zu sein“.
Nachdem für Cecilia in Deutschland das Familienleben nicht mit ihrer Karriere als forschende und publizierende Astrophysikern vereinbar ist, macht sie einen Abstecher in die Philosophie und gründet eine Astronomieschule. Heute ist sie in der Wissensvermittlung tätig und beschäftigt sich damit, andere und insbesondere junge Menschen für Wissenschaft zu begeistern.
