"Embozi" is a song born from a moment of deep uncertainty. I was losing my balance, losing myself, and struggling to find my direction again. Music, which had always been my anchor, felt like it was slipping away. I had this thought—maybe I’ll write one last song, one last album, and then I’m done.
But then came a long drive to Nashville, a full week of songwriting ahead, and hours alone in the car with nothing but my own thoughts. No music, no distractions—just silence. And in that silence, I finally heard the voice that had always kept me steady—a voice I hadn’t heard in a long time.
"Embozi" means talk or rumor in Uganda, and at that time, the noise of doubt and fear was deafening. But this song came from the moment when the real voice—the one that keeps me moving forward—cut through all of it. These are the words that voice said.
