Joey Carbo has been in many bands over the years, picking up guitar, vocals, keyboard and production along the way. Through his band WOORMS, he currently implements those talents in a unique means of expression. While WOORMS holds its foundations in rock music, their concrete measures are highlighted by an exploratory sound with synth undercurrents and a lack of adherence to traditional time signatures. One could deduce that, once upon a time, Joey was inspired by bands like The Melvins and Soundgarden. But to say WOORMS resembles either is a stretch at best. His capacity to feel the sentiment and harmonics of music at an early age was undeniable. But his future held a battle between his core desires, straying vices, and the pursuits of immaturity. These days, maturity has ushered in an era of clarity and focus for him. And his catalog displays a twisted mind that has the benefit of recollection and introspection.
