What does it take to become a leading man in TV, film and theatre? Is it good looks? Or is it something else that’s impossible to define? Cary Grant and Ryan Gosling have it! So does Australian actor Ian Stenlake. He’s been a “leading man” in popular TV shows like Sea Patrol, The Secret Daughter, Dance Academy and Stingers, and in hit musicals like Mamma Mia, Oklahoma and Sam Mendes’ production of Cabaret opposite Aussie songstress, Tina Arena. Currently, Ian is touring Australia in Elvis: A Musical Revolution playing Elvis’ fiendish manager. An old Brisvegas theatre buddy, I directed him in a couple of shows there. I emailed the two-time Green Room Award Winner and asked him to join me on my podcast series and explain what it takes to become a leading man.
