Toen Salo Poiesz bij IntermeZZo vrijwilliger werd, was hij ervaringsdeskundige, voormalig kankerpatiënt. Inmiddels is de ziekte terug. Salo vertelt hoe hij en zijn vrouw daarmee omgaan. En ook hoe hij geniet van het vrijwilligerswerk bij "de mannengroep" en het feit dat hij zelf opnieuw ziek werd, hem daarin niet belemmert. Juist wederkerigheid en gelijkwaardigheid oproept. Salo kreeg op jonge leeftijd nierkanker en was daarmee AYA (Adolecent & Young Adult). Wat was de impact voor hem en zijn echtgenote? Hoe ging en gaat hij om met kanker in de familie, in zijn eigen leven. Een openhartig gesprek met een realist en rasoptimist. En een zéér gewaardeerde vrijwilliger.
