with working, running the home,or chasing after the grandkids?

Here you'll find simple strategies, clear nutrition guidance and
practical tips to help you thriveplant-powered with more energy.
So, if you're ready to ditchthe guesswork and transform

(01:27):
your health the stress-free way.
Cozy up now with a hot cup of tea orlisten while you walk and let me show
you how doable plant-based eating can be.
Let's do this!
Sometimes, making a change canseem just too big and daunting.
This can seem especially so whenit comes to something as huge as a

(01:50):
complete diet or lifestyle change.
We only have to think back to thehabits that took years to build
and that we're still working on.
Here's a small personal example of this.
For me, one of those habits is gettingup an hour or two earlier in the
morning before the children are up,so I can have some 'me time' and can

(02:11):
concentrate to accomplish more worktasks before the day officially starts.
I'm a morning person by default, and find I can function my best in
those quiet early morning hours.
But, going to bed consistently earlierthe night before so I can really take
advantage of those precious morninghours is still something I'm working on.

(02:35):
Can you relate?
I'm sure you can think of atleast one habit you're still
building as well in your own life.
So then, what about making adiet shift as big as that of
moving from meats to plants?
Would it be pretty muchimpossible to achieve then?
Not necessarily.

(02:55):
That's because any task or change inlife can seem big and overwhelming,
until you break it down into smallerparts to tackle, one section at a time.
Let me explain what I mean.
One of the things our family lovesto do is puzzles, and we often
borrow them from the library.

(03:17):
Well, once we brought back a500-piece puzzle with a complicated
illustration of 15 butterfliesand 12 different flower varieties.
My five-year-old son at first didn'twant to start the puzzle, saying he
couldn't do it, because he saw thatthere seemed to be too many pieces
all jumbled up in a colorful mess.

(03:39):
But then, I helped him tacklethis challenge a different way,
in smaller steps, starting withcompleting the frame first.
This way, we could see how big thefinished puzzle would be, and it would
then become easier to build the puzzleinwards from the completed frame.
Next, we worked on the biggestbutterfly in the picture, a black and

(04:02):
yellow one in the lower corner, whichtook up about a fifth of the puzzle.
And from there, it became easierand easier to work on the smaller
butterflies and other parts of the puzzle.
In the end, it took us about a weekto put the entire puzzle together.
If you'd like to see what this lookslike, you can go to the show notes

(04:23):
for this episode to be linked toa picture of the finished puzzle.
So how is this relatedto plant-based eating?
Well, you can definitely approachthis lifestyle change in the same way.
If switching over 100 percent to a fullplant-based diet is really too big of a
jump for you, let's start with a smallerintentional step in your transition.

(04:46):
You don't need to change 15 things inyour diet and lifestyle all at once, but
gradually build up to your new lifestyle.
You've heard of the conceptof habit stacking, right?
That's the same concept here.
Take each positive step forward as a smallhabit that you get to practice daily.

(05:07):
And then you can build up on thatso that over time you've got a
strong plant-powered lifestyle.
This is partly why I break down the diettransition process into four core pillars
in my PlantNourished Transition SuccessMethod: Mindset Building, Foundation
Setting, Smart Recipe Integration, and Lifestyle Success Strategies.

(05:29):
This way, the entire process can seem lessoverwhelming and easier to understand for
those wanting to begin plant-based eating.
I make sure these areas are coveredin my private coaching sessions with
clients and with my Plant-PoweredLife Transformation Course students.
This way, those in my community caneasily focus on and build upon each

(05:51):
of these four core areas in theirtransition journey to master the
essentials of plant-based eating.
I want you to know though, that breakingdown the steps needed to a full change
in lifestyle can also apply to areasoutside of plant-based eating, such
as drinking more water daily or takinga walk outside the home each evening.

(06:12):
If your goal is to improve yourhealth and build a better quality
life, these steps are also important.
There's another benefit tousing this strategy as you move
towards plant-based eating.
If you're someone who knows thatmaking an overnight switch into a full
plant-based diet won't work for you, then this strategy of taking smaller,

(06:33):
intentional steps can make you feel likeyou are making more progress in your
journey, even if you haven't embraceda full whole food plant-based diet yet.
I remember a client coming to me atthe beginning of the year, saying
that she felt overwhelmed as she wastrying to change her eating habits
along with other changes like drinkingmore water, counting steps, and

(06:56):
exercising more with a daily walk.
But she told me that once shelearned about habit stacking,
she felt less overwhelmed.
And each day seemed more of a success atthe end of the day, even if she didn't
manage to implement all the lifestylechange tasks she had set for that day.
I was glad to hear that.

(07:17):
Friend, if that's how you're feelingat the moment, I want the same for you.
So today we looked at a simplestrategy you can use to take away
some of that overwhelm you may befeeling, either in the midst of
your transition or as you begin it.
And that's to habit stack.
Taking small intentionalsteps forward towards a final

(07:39):
transition goal or end point.
So here's a small action step you cantake towards that bigger end goal.
If you're about to start plant-basedeating, take a moment to consider and
choose which area of your transitionjourney you want to focus on first,
and how you might be able to break downthat area of the transition process

(08:00):
into smaller sections to tackle.
Then take that first stepforward this coming week.
Friend, I hope this episode assuresyou and gives you confidence
as you move forward to beginyour plant-based diet journey.
But if you're still feeling overwhelmedand know you need a clear step-by-step
process to follow to help you movesuccessfully from a meat-heavy diet to a

plant-powered one, I invite you to checkout the Plant-Powered Life Transformation
