Dzikir dan doa merupakan dua amalan yang sangat dianjurkan dalam Islam. Dalam Alquran Surah Al-A'raf ayat 205 disebutkan, "Dan ingatlah Tuhanmu dalam hatimu dengan merendahkan diri dan rasa takut serta dengan tidak bersuara, di waktu pagi dan petang. Dan janganlah kamu termasuk orang-orang yang lalai." Rasulullah juga bersabda dalam sebuah hadis riwayat Abu Hurairah, "Doa adalah senjata seorang mukmin." Oleh karena itu, berdzikir dan berdoa kepada Allah adalah cara untuk mendekatkan diri kepada-Nya, memohon pertolongan-Nya, serta menguatkan iman kita sebagai umat Muslim.
