El poema salió a la lz pública en 1971 con la grabación del poema por el locutor Les Crane, en su album "Desiderata" que le valió un Premio Grammy como el mejor album vocal del año. Es un poema a la felicidad y a la búsqueda de una felicidad sencilla, con pensamientos que te hrán reflexionar.
