🗓 Join Casey, from Cascadia Dispatch, and Cliff, The Urban Prepper, every Wednesday at 5:30pm PST (8:30pm EST) as we discuss the lighter side of Prepping.

We're going to talk about new (and sometimes old) gear 🎒, deals we find on products and supplies 🤑, and preparedness projects were working on or planning to work on 🛠.  We're going to answer questions from our various social media communities (don’t be shy, send us your questions🙋‍♂️🙋🙋‍♀️) and occasionally, we're probably going to talk about Pro Wrestling, Legos, and TikTok…No, we are not your father’s doomsday stream! 😎😳🤓

So, if you’ve got a can of soup 🥫and not much else, this stream is for you!  If you like your advice and information without needing a tinfoil hat to understand it 🙇‍♂️, this stream is for you!  If you think earthquakes and hurricanes don’t care who you voted for, then this politics-free stream 🙅‍♂️ is for you!

👨‍💻 Our initial streams will be on https://www.youtube.com/cascadiadispatch and https://www.youtube.com/gotpreps with plans to expand in the near future!  If you haven't subscribed and turned on notifications, be sure to do that, so you don't miss out! ✅

you know 5 15 or 5 30 or 5 o'clock or
whatever
it's all just a suggestion it's like in
the state of Oregon if you drive around
like some places it says speed limit and
some places it says just speed it's just
like an advisory it's like it could be
55 it could be different who knows but

(01:10):
we're here welcome to prep talk live
episode 58 where time a matter is not at
all and like you know what this is
fantastic the title of the episode is
tips for resetting your action plans
when they go astray and you know what I
feel like that's where we are tonight
and we do the best we can uh I'm Casey

(01:31):
with Cascadia dispatch joining me as
always on all of these episodes
is the man the myth the legend it's
tough the urban prepper tough what is up
how are you power things I'm doing
pretty good good yeah so for uh I was
telling Casey uh during uh when we were
in wardrobe and makeup and backstage
that uh I was setting up all my live

(01:52):
stream stuff and then ring ring ring
it's my boss I'm like ah gotta answer
the boss and I said it was like a fan
and so I just kind of messed up my
I was all excited that we're going to be
able to talk early so because it's a
Friday evening but yeah all in all doing
well you know the flexibility as the
number one as the number one
non-prepping prepping live stream

(02:15):
um which is the category I just made up
which is how I know we're number one
yeah
um we do an amazing amount of technical
changes right before we go live it's
like you know some of these you watch
like some of these professional
podcasters and they have things like
scripts and producers and Technical
Support or whatever and we're like you
know what maybe we'll pick a different

(02:35):
camera today maybe we'll adjust to hear
the the docile the the
um silky tones of tuft's voice tonight
it's because he's using one of the
Fantastic microphones
my ice cream cone here it's really good
so
you do the telemarketer
yeah

(02:56):
like I was gonna go like that but uh it
it didn't need to for further further
but yeah anyway I was trying to figure
out Pony girl was putting all kinds of
things in the in the chat and I was
getting very confused but I got a kick
is I think she's watching it on both of
our streams simultaneously both of our
channels uh because she's commenting in

(03:18):
each of the like it shows up as like the
paired channel the the comments coming
in yeah from Tim's Channel or the the
gray channel is my channel and then all
of a sudden I'm seeing him with both and
what I realize is that I think she's in
both which is fantastic so thank you
Pony girl not only for for moderating
and all this other stuff but for giving

(03:39):
us two viewer accounts that's fantastic
that's MVP level stuff right there so we
have ATF over here on uh on it and yeah
exactly
ATF on the urban prep
Channel since the very
2011. for over a decade he ATF always
talks smack on like uh

(04:01):
anyway so he has a so he has a friend so
that's smack talking for over okay no so
here's the deal
when when our backdrops are as many
funkos and Legos and things as possible
like we can't not be nerds like you
couldn't that's just a fact that's not
an opinion it's just a fact at this

(04:22):
point I think my my son's been having
some problems at a school because it's
some of the the
door some of the kids have been calling
him a nerd and so it's bothering him and
uh but he's because he's wants to do
good at school and stuff and I'm like
well I they called me a nerd too they
still call me a nerd yeah

(04:44):
the Nerds end up very well there are
lots of you know Bill Gates was a nerd
yeah and Steve Jobs was a nerd and Elon
Musk is a nerd and they're all doing
pretty okay
well Bill Gates has a quote saying uh be
nice to nerds chances are you'll end up
working for one yeah exactly
I told him not to worry about to worry
about it yeah yeah and and you know what

(05:06):
yeah
that sort of stuff is just uncalled for
I was going to tell you a little funny
thing so uh because I don't get to talk
to anyone in in this about these kind of
nerd things but
nerd alerts
yeah yeah my son this year he says
there's some kids there that are kind of

(05:27):
picking picking on them because uh they
say he's a nerd even though he's not but
he to them he is because he gets better
grades than them so uh anyway they keep
stealing his calculator he has this you
know Texas Texas Instruments calculator
and uh because because he's math and
stealing it uh it's like bothering him
and so but they still live in this past

(05:47):
week and so uh he he's on like a Herbert
Preppers on the case so we I I think
a bait kind of like bait car but it's
now it's a oh
so uh uh some of the Apple Air tags
embedded within have some uh I want them
to steal this one because I want to know
who's doing it which one of these kids

(06:08):
so oh
GPS with the air tags and I have like a
it has a fancy case and everything so
they could they could take even a
calculator or the case and I'll I'll be
able to get them for that and I have and
I have certain mops in there like the
air tank air tank is some Band-Aids so
it looks like he's a real nurse on

(06:29):
bandage
calculator but it's really an Apple Air
tag that's hidden uh discreetly and has
some fake pens it even has like a dollar
in there so I'm hoping that they just
finals come it's coming are coming back
so anyway
on the calculator I am so looking for

(06:50):
when when
it comes out that Tufts air tag was
found in some kids backpack with money
yeah
we've enjoyed our time together that's
that's fantastic
um oh my goodness that is yeah that is

(07:11):
but yeah it's helped out with morale
because now my son's real he wants
someone to steal his calculator because
he's kids he just walks around just like
just luring it in front of like oh look
at my job like I'm like because we got I
ordered it uh and got it I got an
overnight shift and everything and I'm
like hey put it out on your desk put it

(07:32):
on display I want someone to take this
one
[Laughter]
doesn't take it
oh maybe this is the teacher the whole
time yep exactly challenge him
it reminds me of the glitter bombs that
uh the the bay packages that Mark Rober

(07:52):
does on YouTube exactly that's Yeah Yeah
a hundred percent that's fantastic
and I I was going to say uh thank you
for flexibility on Wednesday because I
was I was good to go it's good to go on
and I was ready to ready to start ready
to start but I I had to I had a a
dermatologist appointment and they I
don't you probably can't see it on here
but I had this video

(08:14):
the makeup is fantastic
so I yeah my beard kind of cover some
stuff anyway they've been uh
we've had some we had some uh little uh
suspicious moles uh and so I've been
having to go to the Dermatology be freak
more than I want to and every time I
take a little souvenir of me uh it's

(08:37):
Wednesday I was I had all these like
you know bad big bandages
uh uh when they when they remove they
remove they'll uh they authorize it so
it smells like barbecue ribs
like barbecue
[Music]

(08:59):
moving this mole and uh uh and and I'll
next thing next thing I know I'm letting
her do that and then I smell I smell
cooking it's cooking so I'm like hey you
were you cooking something and she said
yeah I'm cooking you and so uh she was
cauterizing it anyway I looked ugly on
Wednesday so I'm just watching for the
little like puke emojis to start showing

(09:20):
up in the chat that's what I'm waiting
for I'm just like who was watching this
yeah you're coming to the hear about
planning whatever we're fighting about
cooking Chuck's face that's what we're
oh yes here we go Pony girl so your face
looks amazing it's thank you it looks as
smooth as a baby but unfortunately I
have kind of I'm kind of moldy I have a
lot of moles and some of them are ugly

(09:41):
and like there's one my glasses that I
didn't know I didn't know about oh we
had this exam yeah but if you have moles
go to your dermatologist and uh exactly
get all checked out and maybe for
example go watch uh Austin Powers
yeah it was really embarrassing because
I uh

(10:03):
for these small exams they want to be
wanted I'm not I'm not that comfortable
to it because my my Dermatology
dermatologist looking uh is getting the
full peep show but then like they just
want do they want you to sign an
autograph too is it possible that they
took some of these moles
as grow your own tough in a jar into the

(10:27):
Altoids too they sell it yeah
I don't care if she wants to because
she's my dermo and uh but that she has
her assistant and then she wanted to
have a whole bunch of her interns there
and I'm like I'm not getting naked in
front of like four
I didn't feel comfortable comfortable
but anyway it was really embarrassing
really embarrassing I had to do this

(10:48):
full uh they take photos and so they got
their cameras out like they're taking
selfies and it's and I'm having to do
these poses like on some beach pod types
I feel like you're taking this only
press
that we were joking about a little bit
over where we were thinking I feel like
we were joking about one thing and I
feel like you may have gotten confused

(11:09):
along the way sorry yeah maybe maybe
this is
I don't get to talk about my week to
anyone welcome to prep talk after dark
that's what we secrets
yeah um
chuck would like to remind everyone that

(11:30):
a real prepper would have cut them off
with his own EDC knife so well you can't
I they give they did give me approval
for because I get skin tags too every
once in a while and they they did say I
could cut off the skin tags uh by the
way I'm not a doctor don't respond
anything I say but don't tell me not to
cut off yeah between the uh between the
ATF has it right between the the

(11:53):
uh and the nerd alert yeah everything
you say right now just sounds like
Austin Powers to me that's all I'm
hearing is Mike Myers doing uh whatever
yeah I think I think tough is a poser
now
um
it is it's so embarrassing like
superhero pose like but like a prepper

(12:14):
pose you're like reaching for your
Hatchet or something like yeah it's like
Fabio Fabio style poses and that's like
like this and I'm like ah Jason
if they give you wig I think perhaps
you're in a different set maybe I could
pull it off yeah maybe this this
dermatologist might not be

(12:36):
um legit yeah that might be something we
would want to discuss or something else
um is anyone else hearing a stutter by
the way on the on the audio
um My Little preview window is giving me
all kinds of like video stutter and
audio stutter but I can't tell if it's
just the computer that I have hooked up

(12:57):
to the monitor or if it's actually the
stream that's going out so if anybody
sounds good to me all right well that's
that's all that I care about I carry
that it sounds good
um
because I'm using just my laptop camera
yeah you look way better than I do I was

(13:17):
trying to like play with my lights
beforehand to get get some of the glare
and the Shine off of my my top there
um okay and it did it okay
don't get shine but I don't have the
right lighting or whatever so I'm gonna
switch I think before next week I'm
gonna switch cameras I'm gonna switch up
some lights and we're gonna try to make
this look a little bit more more

(13:38):
professional I think we we're you know
we're worth it so what are some tips for
resetting setting your actions when they
fail
yeah well I think yeah exactly it's as
if we had a topic we tried real hard
um so I was thinking about this because
a
like it's always good I think if we have
some sort of a topic at least an attempt

(14:00):
at a topic
um also people seem to enjoy the new the
new thumbnail kind of setup that we've
got going on so I was like all right
let's keep going with that
um
you know there's no bueno and choppy
I mean I are you talking about his audio

(14:20):
or him himself like I feel like if it
like that almost is just you know it's
just part of tough whenever I call it up
like even on the phone it's a little bit
uh you know choppy yeah I'm sorry but um
that's all right you're you know what's
up you're fired you're fired I've
enjoyed I've enjoyed the for 15 years
we've done a good job we couldn't get to

(14:42):
the 58. yep
um
so I was thinking about this one was you
know you had your whole evacuation thing
a couple weeks ago and you were talking
about how like okay in the moment you
have the plans and then in the lot like
when it happens you just run out and and
luckily your son grabbed his EDC and but

(15:03):
like nobody had their bags and
everything else we went away for a
weekend a couple weekends ago and when I
got there I realized I had not brought
any of our usual like emergency kit
things I just we were in a rush to get
out of the house and and I just didn't
even think to grab the bags that I
normally did
um

(15:24):
all right Pony girl like come on really
like I mean
that's yeah that
we have the best fans ladies and
gentlemen the best the best fans this is
just all the love here's the best part
too she put it on your chat so anyone
who was watching it on my street in my

(15:45):
stream would have no idea and think
everything's fine and the Pony girl
loves us but she's she's smack talking
me on your channel that's what's
happening there
um so anyway so what I was thinking is
there are times where we spend a lot of
time trying to put these plants together
we'd build bags and packs and all kinds
of stuff and then when the thing happens

(16:05):
or anything happens
kind of life just happens and you just
go with it
um and I think there is a potential
there for a lot of especially new
Preppers or people who are just getting
used to it or are super excited because
they just made their first kit or
whatever that when they forget

(16:26):
that basically it could discourage them
and they decide like oh well this isn't
going to work this is this is garbage I
waste of my time and all that sort of
stuff
and for those of us I think who have
been doing this for a while
we tend to take those moments more as
learning experiences and so I thought it
would be interesting to just talk a

(16:46):
little bit about like when we have those
moments where we realize oh wow we had a
plan for this and then life happened and
it did not go according to plan what are
those things that that like you and I go
through and think about after the fact
to try to improve upon the process yeah
well I think I when we were when we were
talking about the evacuation that we had

(17:07):
to do it was uh the speed uh speed
aspect which really happens like uh I I
don't think I accounted for some some
certain speed things and accessibility
so I think that uh quick access and
uh fast uh taking actions really fast is
really important for like in those
vaccinations more so than what again we

(17:28):
didn't we didn't grab bags during the
entire evacuation we should we evacuated
that was first things first so uh so it
kind of made us reevaluate uh like
certain locations for for supplies and
and and then also going for it would we
have grabbed something if it was grab
and go at an accessible place

(17:48):
versus some 50 pound bug out bedding so
uh that was kind of a recent one but I
don't know if you have one on
yeah you strapped the 50 pound bag on on
the kids and they'll just go yeah and
you know
um yeah I think I think one of the
things that I found you know in various
times where it's like okay you know we

(18:11):
we had a plan or something happened or
you know it didn't go exactly it's just
trying to figure out like what would I
have liked to have happened in that
situation because a lot of times we're
thinking about what we think could
happen and then planning for the
eventualities of that thing
um and when the reality hits it's

(18:33):
important to recognize that like that
didn't go according to plan
we're okay and so that means that we
have an opportunity to to account for
these new things
um I know that like when the lockdown
started happening especially on the west
coast because I started here sooner than
than everybody else
um you know we had food put away

(18:54):
but when we knew that we were going to
be locked in it was kind of like oh
shoot well like are we actually gonna
eat this for that many days and so it
gave us a more crystallized view or
focused view of like okay what do we
want to fix and then when we realized
that okay we may have done it
differently or we would have liked to
have had some additional things then

(19:15):
we've now included that in our process
you know in our our cycle of purchasing
food and using it and all that sort of
stuff
um so I think that's a I think it's a
big to just always be iterating on your
plan to have a a plan to iterate off of
like with covid types something with uh

(19:37):
but we did stock up on certain free
items on stuff that we
don't normally eat and we never had to
really dip into those during uh kovid so
uh
eventually
we just had awesome donated what we
could uh I don't know if you're here if
you hear me I got a little little
message that there's connection issues

(19:58):
connection issues on or
uh every once in a while it's like I
hear double it's like it repeats it's
like a stutter okay but yeah okay okay
but yeah I think for food and for
rotation and and spending your obviously
on stuff they use like I think if we
could do it over again or again we Pro

(20:18):
selected different items that we
actually do uh
eat regularly uh during that time but
again we're kind of it's kind of unknown
territory when when we're in the moment
for sure so yeah exactly I think the
unknown I think it's kind of the other
thing that I think is important to
remember for those of us who once you

(20:39):
kind of start going down the road of the
preparedness Journey sort of a thing
um you know we're planning I think you
and I are both planning for earthquakes
because that's the big thing in our area
but if you're planning for an earthquake
you're eighty percent of the way there
to planning for a lot of other things
snowstorm power outage civil unrest

(21:01):
there's lots of different things that
also come up and if you've planned for
one thing you likely can can reuse that
plan
um and so what we found is is kind of as
you come across different
instant you know different issues is
just tweaking that plan and figuring out
okay what's the 10 that we need you know

(21:22):
to get a little bit closer because the
snowstorm you know means that we might
need extra heat or something like that
um
you know when we when we were going away
and uh
you know we didn't have I didn't have
our big emergency you know bag that I
normally take when we go on a trip
um but what I realized is I do have

(21:44):
supplies that I have duplicated in all
the cars in all the packs in all of the
places around the house so even if we
didn't have that huge bag
um you know we still had some stuff
um we also happen to be going away for
the weekend so we had things like extra
clothes and snacks and that sort of

(22:04):
thing
um so I think that's another area that I
like to think about too is multiplying
which depending on your budget depending
on how you cycle through gear and things
you know maybe easier or a little more
difficult and require more thought
um but I try to duplicate certain
elements of gear and preps in multiple

(22:25):
areas so
I don't have to think about it as much
it's just always kind of around if that
makes sense
yeah totally totally I think if you're
prepared for an earthquired for a lot of
emergencies if you're prepared for
zombies you're prepared for a whole lot
of different situations so it's uh
whatever it takes to get into prepping
whether you're at the the fear is

(22:46):
volcanic eruption or simple and rust or
whatever usually it's pretty common to
run throughout a lot of emergency
situations uh excuse my my wife last
night was uh she's been binge watching
stuff on the Cascadia subduction zone so
it's made up our earthquake perhaps a
little bit more so I said I gotta I got
a video series on that so I'm gonna let
me reevaluate some of the supplies that

(23:08):
were in that you know but she wants me
to she wants us to reinforce our house
house earthquake proof type stuff and
it's toughen it's twenty thousand
dollars to get this uh what wants
it's good that she's inspired on these
kind of things now and so she's
uh even though for us a lot of us

(23:30):
Preppers we've been cascading subduction
induction zone for now we've been
thinking about it now we've entered a
little bit more so it's always nice when
uh especially when you're the first in
in your family for example to start
thinking about this sort of a thing
um
that then whenever when other people

(23:50):
kind of get get that bug in their air as
well uh and and go from I would say
humoring you to
fully partnering and everything
um I think that was one of those
interesting things in our family where
like my brother originally brought it up
and I kind of was humoring him about

(24:11):
like oh yeah earthquake whatever and
then I got it and went Way Beyond like
into a it's so far beyond that I have a
YouTube channel and a stream with a guy
that has millions of subscribers to you
know talk about it every week
um
but I think then like originally I think
my wife was concerned to a point

(24:33):
um because you know if I am like hey I
think something's wrong she will believe
me and same thing with her if she says
something's wrong okay what do we do to
fix it
um but there are certain things that I
have acquired or prioritized in this
process that I think she probably
originally would have been like I don't

(24:54):
know that we need that
um but over time has gotten you know
there are times where she's like hey you
know what I saw this thing and I think
we need to get this thing or hey I saw
this article and I think we should look
into this
um she knows however that if she
mentions it it will arrive so she has to
be a little thoughtful of like when she
brings it off and it's like

(25:14):
um she's learned her lesson from Lego
she'll be like she'll be like oh that's
a really cool set and I'm like oh is it
now that'll be delivered
um
yeah uh it's uh
sometimes sometimes it takes some
convincing or them to get you just get
the their ear or get inspired by
something my wife's been watching uh

(25:35):
Fukushima nuclear plant and like what
happened with the earthquake and tsunami
on that and that's that helped motivate
her to want to get up some certain preps
that we have in our because we're
prepared for
earthquakes in our apartment that we are
in our house
so because we had we had a lot more of
the earthquake type lashes and ideas and

(25:57):
this would be the best ones for certain
type of weeks and she was asking me hey
what's what's our uh how high are we up
from sea level I need to know because
the tsunami is going to happen so I I
gave her a website she could go to to
calculate that and all that so
what you need to do is is take the
garage where you've got all of the jars

(26:19):
yeah you need to pull whatever car is in
there out and you need one of those
tsunami uh little floater boat things
those are pretty cool
yeah and I think you just need to put
that in there that's a good idea that's
a uh
actually I I did I cleared up one of the
shelves the shelves now has her own set

(26:39):
of shelves for it's only for canning
stuff though well that I know that a
little while back we were talking about
you know shelf shell Force basically in
the garage yeah exactly yeah oh I'm glad
that you I'm glad that you
cleared off one for her that's that's
fantastic we're making progress we're
coming along so now now she's going

(26:59):
cascadia's abduction Zone and
earthquakes and next she's gonna she's
gonna start her YouTube channel and all
the stuff yeah exactly and you'll be
trying to get on her live stream for
clouds
yeah yeah you'll be like hey you know
what can I get on that can I uh can I
make a quick appearance my Subs are a
little down yeah she's having a text

(27:20):
this morning and it was just it was a
YouTube home study Channel she said you
used to do stuff more like this like so
she she's now hey make your own channel
and yeah exactly
um oh that would be that would be funny
if you guys just if it was just the
whole tough family Network

(27:41):
who had competed talks Mac about each
other yeah exactly
exactly it'll be like it'll be the race
to a million between you and Mrs Mrs
Thomas yeah
we'd have much more language than what I
have because she's she's
yeah yeah she would just call Rick and
it would be over you'd go to the train

(28:02):
station train station yeah exactly I
think that would be great
um so what what improvements is she
thinking about like is and so for us our
house uh was built after certain Retro
Retro fitting
um codes were in place so like it's

(28:23):
strapped to the foundation the water
heaters attached to the wall like
there's some of that sort of stuff
that's already in place
um I've added stuff like the
um the special hangers that are like the
little mazes that that to attach
a Mesa hook or something like that yeah

(28:45):
so like those for especially for like
heavy pieces of artwork or things
um you know we've attached the cabinets
and things to walls so instead so they
won't you know fall over in theory uh
but so what is she wanting to do like
strapping the house down or well she

(29:07):
wants the like the house is on the you
know houses
your foundation like that but she wants
everything drilled down so it go down
you know 100 feet with feet bars type
thing to make it attached to the Bedrock
below like uh however deep that is
because we're technically on a hill

(29:29):
she's worried that happens that the
house is going to slide slide down the
hill but there's ways that you could uh
retro it's it's a
attached to the Bedrock sled Rock so
your neighbors everything else will
slide down but she she wants so
does she know that the house across the
street is gonna go through your house
like like the foundation will be
attached but the other house is going to

(29:51):
come just sailing right
she hasn't she hasn't thought about
talked about that yet but okay all right
uh
at one point at one point because we we
do have earthquake insurance but the way
that homeowners like earthquake
insurance is you still have to pay it
like if something were to happen you
still have to pay a big amount of money
for uh for it but we did get a quote at

(30:12):
one point to see how much it would cost
to get it so we're attached to the
Bedrock type thing so yeah and it was
expensive
um yeah I actually did uh
that's the prepping Canadian prepping
money so yeah yeah we don't yeah we
don't we don't have time budget yeah a
10 year sets on right now

(30:33):
trumpet is 19 microphones but that's all
right
um yeah we had a we uh I just did I feel
like I'm always doing this but like I
don't know it's one of the things that I
like to do or whatever is I just we just
had a insurance
um kind of evaluation
um and some of it was because we had
started one last summer

(30:54):
um and there were a couple of things
that we still needed to add like I
needed to add the new office building
because it wasn't completed then and so
it was like okay do we need to add
additional coverages for that or
anything
um but I think it's it's always good at
least every year and and maybe every six
months even to just check on things like

(31:16):
your insurance coverages and policies
um because it also depends too a little
bit on like if you change agents or if
like like where was an agency and uh we
got a new agent and so I was calling and
saying hey the last agent set the
insurance call coffee up this way
is there a better way to do it now and a

(31:36):
lot of times there's like a new policy
type that came out like every year or
whatever
um which they don't necessarily always
email and tell you about like they want
you on the old policy and they don't
tell you necessarily there's a new type
or something
um so I think it's worth looking into
our earthquake insurance we originally
had like a 10 percent

(31:57):
deductible or something which is
basically like you they don't cover
anything until you have paid 10 so if
half of your house falls off you
actually would have to pay
to put that half back up before they
would cover anything else
um yeah but we were able to shop it
around and find policies that actually

(32:18):
had comparable premiums to what we were
doing with two and a half percent
um deductibles which that's better it's
still I mean it's still gonna be a chunk
of money if we had to do it but like it
means that okay if there was really any
damage we would at least get some
coverage from from the insurance company
and it would cover things like loss of

(32:41):
use so even if we had to pay out of
pocket for the construction we would
still get some like living expenses and
food coverage and and that sort of thing
wow the repairs were going on
yeah see some uh fact checks on dinky uh

(33:01):
attaching your house to bedrock will
take a Bill Gates uh the quote that we
got for for it was it now maybe Bedrock
isn't the right turn but they they round
with these bars to attack uh
and I was told I they told me about
Rockwell but it was 20 grand but uh but
uh that was in 2000 nowadays so nowadays

(33:22):
twice as much knowing yeah
I don't think it was a
question though
yeah uh yeah flooding uh boom sticks
jewelry all need a rider for good
coverage yes there is actually I'll
bring a lot of different a lot of
different items that you would want to

(33:42):
maybe call out
um on a writer we were actually just
redoing ours which is what kicked off a
lot of the stuff that we were doing
um and so making sure that uh like one
of the things that was on was like we
have a lot of emergency preparedness
gear right now that you know if if
something were to happen

(34:04):
um you know there is usually like an
amount that they give you for personal
items
um and that amount would definitely
cover the emergency stuff but like we
have other stuff like it's got to cover
beds and furniture and stuff like that
so it was okay what amount do we put on
that and put that off to the side so if
if anything were to happen we don't need

(34:25):
to you know we can get extra coverage
for for those sorts of things
um the Legos were a thing
um because I have quite a few Legos I
don't know if you're aware of this
um and so we wanted to make sure that
like those and some Collectibles and
um jewelry and stuff all were taken care
of

(34:47):
cool yeah we uh we did some more stuff
but yeah it's uh yeah insurance is and
they don't necessarily the important
thing too I think is interesting is for
as non-extravagant as we are
if you ask the the insurance people okay
in reality if something were to happen
in my house what would this look like

(35:08):
that's where you start to get into
things like okay you probably want a
writer for this or you want a writer for
that
um just to make sure that you've got the
right uh pools of coverage in the right
areas
but it's been a while since we've talked
to our insurance person so it's before
coven so maybe we're due then maybe this

(35:28):
is a good reminder for me to go talk to
her or the guy that we and see what's
what's the latest yeah yeah and it's
it's not a fun like it's not a fun or
sexy conversation to have to be like how
is my such and such coverage River but
um yeah we found out that there was new
person it's super sexy exactly
sexy preference uh there was a whole uh

(35:53):
there was a whole new type of house
policy that they had and they were like
oh yeah and it covers all this other
stuff and we were like why did you not
tell us I know it's cheaper and we're
like what is going on so that's what all
the cable companies and stuff play this
oh by the way it is sweet triple planned
package that's cheaper than what you've
been paying for the past few years uh
how did you find out about it so yeah

(36:14):
yeah yeah Chuck yeah insurance I think
is an important thing I think yeah I
don't think a lot of people a lot of
people when we're talking about prepping
they think about gear and they think
about like the emergency plan of like
get to safety well and I think I think
like grid down into the world as we know
that type stuff yeah but there there is

(36:35):
like a whole uh like paperwork prepping
side of things which like I don't know
maybe I should do like a series on that
or something where it's like your
insurance and like your financial plans
and like
um you're legal like estate plans and
things like that like what are those
things that you know just are preparing

(36:57):
for life for any little random thing
that happens Beyond just you know the
apocalypse or zombies or yeah something
like that
I totally totally agree yeah I think I
think a lot of Preppers it's common for
us to
to kind of fantasize in a way about some
of these end of the world type things
when really insurance is probably makes

(37:18):
more sense than most most type of
scenarios yeah cat I would if you are in
a renting situation and you do not have
renters insurance you a hundred percent
need to look into that uh we just went
that was another part of what we were
doing with the other thing
um and if in a certain situation if you
are a renter and you do not have renters

(37:39):
insurance there is no like your landlord
is not covering any of your stuff
um so that would be all on you to yeah
we when we had an apartment we had
renters insurance because there's a lot
of stuff in your place after a while and
you wanna are protected and it wasn't
actually that I don't remember being
that much

(38:00):
uh with regardless uh uh Adult food one
so
yes awesome Cameron
if off topic this if you want to what my
wife and I what we go out for when we go
out to date nights like for a birthday
or anniversary or something like that we
go to this Italian restaurant called IL
Terrazzo Carmine it's over by uh it's by

(38:21):
it's by the stadium over in the pirate
in the pine area and highly recommend it
it's it's a it's a it's a very nice
Italian food but it's not like uh you
could wear I could wear my t-shirt and I
would fit in just fine over there it's
very it's family friendly you bring the
kids and it's awesome and they treat you
really well and um the service is

(38:43):
awesome and and everything everything
they eat they even have I call it my
death row meal so if I was ever uh on
death in prison and they they asked me
for my meal I would get the stuffed pork
chop from Carmine and that would be my
death row it's awesome so
okay this is I'm also taking notes
because we're going to Seattle here in
like a month or two yes

(39:03):
um which which we still have to think we
need to talk we need to talk we need to
have some conversations about that
um but yeah that we're looking for
restaurants because we're gonna take the
kids and and do a whole weekend of it
and so uh that's that's you that's the
date place and it's kid friendly you
should definitely go there and then as
far as other type of restaurants uh in
Seattle there's really some really good
uh it's called there's a pizza place

(39:24):
pizza place we're kind of in Bellevue
Redmond Bothell area it's called Can-Am
Pizza Indian Pizza which is uh made with
like Indian uh naan bread for the
foreign
and it's it's run by an Indian family

(39:45):
it's so good that you have to get it if
you're I don't know if it's anywhere
else but so so so good uh it's
worthwhile to get to it all right that
is do they deliver
uh they do and I I ordered it I had a
team meeting on Wednesday and uh uh I
ordered it for lit for lunch and it was
I was Mr popular because spieler because

(40:07):
I love this because for the most part my
experience with with like uh Seattle
restaurants has been either when I'm
going up for a meeting there are a
couple of little like Quick Serve places
around the office that I go to
um or like we go for like a super fancy
dinner or something uh like if we're

(40:29):
going up for like a more romantical
weekend sort of a thing uh but we
haven't we haven't done the kind of like
okay we're hanging out for the weekend
where do we go what do we do uh what
sort of thing
your people like people and we'll get uh
we'll get a a plan or in order or you
could ask PTA I'm going to Seattle what

(40:51):
should I do they go and check we'll give
you a better answer I have a Chad tvt
where I say okay chat gbt you are Cliff
the urban pepper now tell me what
and it starts to give me responses it's
fantastic it'll get exported as a PDF to

(41:12):
it
yeah all right well I think we we ever
like 45 years pretty good so I think
we're doing good it's Friday night it's
Friday night maybe we should go hang out
with the face and stuff exactly yes I
think we'll do that we I like the the
comment romantical casing yes I every
once in a while
shower and you know put on my formal uh

(41:34):
prepper sweatshirt and uh you know we do
a little a little a little date night
um well thanks for joining us everyone
uh we will see you next week
at some point keep an eye out either
Friday either Friday or Wednesday all
right yeah exactly Friday or Wednesday
maybe Thursday maybe Tuesday I you know
you never know yeah just keep on pop-up

(41:56):
tent it's like a yeah it's a pop-up tent
yeah exactly so yeah so sometime next
week we'll be back
um maybe with different lighting maybe
with different cameras maybe with
different microphones maybe with
different hosts all together I don't
know uh also casual preference podcast
is doing this like five question thing
on their podcast uh so I was thinking

(42:19):
either a I think we should steal that
idea and I think we should maybe bring
on some friends
um but also I think we need to talk to
them about some sort of a collaboration
I think it's I think it's time I haven't
talked to them for for a while but it'd
be fun they're always uh hilarious and
fun yeah for sure they're always very
soon yeah I see other people talking
about their death Romeo so

(42:40):
[Music]
someone's so dink 81 you want your says
yeah shrimp fixed in any way but Raw
okay
I okay I guess I'm confused it fixed in
any way but raw does that just mean with
any sort of a sauce on it like Ceviche
or Teriyaki that could be like a shrimp

(43:02):
and scallops or
cocktail I don't know I don't know yeah
well I mean next week about what I want
to know what cases
20 girls I want to know everyone
all right we'll work on that for next
week thanks again everyone we will see
you next time hopefully it's not like

(43:22):
