🗓 Join Casey, from Cascadia Dispatch, and Cliff, The Urban Prepper, every Wednesday at 5:30pm PST (8:30pm EST) as we discuss the lighter side of Prepping.

We're going to talk about new (and sometimes old) gear 🎒, deals we find on products and supplies 🤑, and preparedness projects were working on or planning to work on 🛠.  We're going to answer questions from our various social media communities (don’t be shy, send us your questions🙋‍♂️🙋🙋‍♀️) and occasionally, we're probably going to talk about Pro Wrestling, Legos, and TikTok…No, we are not your father’s doomsday stream! 😎😳🤓

So, if you’ve got a can of soup 🥫and not much else, this stream is for you!  If you like your advice and information without needing a tinfoil hat to understand it 🙇‍♂️, this stream is for you!  If you think earthquakes and hurricanes don’t care who you voted for, then this politics-free stream 🙅‍♂️ is for you!

👨‍💻 Our initial streams will be on https://www.youtube.com/cascadiadispatch and https://www.youtube.com/gotpreps with plans to expand in the near future!  If you haven't subscribed and turned on notifications, be sure to do that, so you don't miss out! ✅

(00:47):
we are here on a Wednesday at 5 30. it
is amazing my microphone is just totally
like that it's out of proportion anyway
uh welcome to episode 60 of prep talk
live
um every time we get to another 10 I'm
still amazing holy cow here we here we
go we're making it happen

(01:08):
um I'm Casey with Cascadia dispatch
looking a little washed out again we're
still I I'm still trying to get up to
tough standard of video the Wardrobe and
makeup team and lighting they all came
in and got the studio all set up so yeah
yeah I had some of that that team here
last week but that's not fully charged
yet so hopefully the new lights and the

(01:29):
new setup will will come in next week
um but joining USB as always looking
fantastic like a professional who has
millions and millions of fans uh is
tough the urban prepper tuck what is
going on how are you how was your week
how are things huh things are going
pretty well the weather's real nice up
here and so uh it's uh getting ready to
go on a summer vacation coming up uh at

(01:52):
the end of next week and we will be gone
for about 10 days down in your neck of
the woods down in Oregon and your
territory in my territory Bernie and I
have
we have cleared the vehicle the V for
you
you okay to cross the bridges okay good
yeah I know I know that you and uh
Bernie kind of control like the the
Oregon uh territory of the preparedness
Community I we do yourself and others

(02:12):
are you know trying to keep the Western
Washington uh safe so we we are We Are
The Humble
um caretakers of the preparedness
Universe in uh in Oregon uh both of us
together that's what happens and so
you're some of the meanest and most
tactical you know Preppers that there
are out there it's like so angry
everyone's really angry yeah exactly we

(02:35):
just giggle with authority is what we do
over here
um I feel like that could be a t-shirt
giggle with a thumb giggle with
authority that's great yeah I feel like
that's a thing all right we'll write
that down
um everybody's joining us uh welcome in
uh again like this summer schedule is
gonna be a bit haphazard
um we may not know that we're doing a

(02:56):
stream until like an hour and a half
before so we try to let everybody know
as soon as I can yeah
I had to work from home today because my
car uh had to had to go in the shop this
morning unexpectedly uh so uh so I you
know worked from home and uh with a nice
backdrop and everything in the nice cam
so let's see two weeks in a row we've
got the

(03:19):
4K tough happening
um but yeah so for those of you who are
joining us or seeing the replay or
anything else uh just keep an eye out uh
we'll have we're doing streams but
whether it's on Wednesday whether it's
on Friday whether it's at 5 30 whether
it's at 5 15 like some of that is still
a bit up in the air
um we are juggling family during the

(03:40):
summer we are juggling jobs during the
summer we are juggling summer during the
summer so we're doing the best we can
but thanks again for joining and uh and
participating we got a full uh group in
the chat uh with questions Pig flies
here
we could start yeah both channels yep
she's representing on both channels I

(04:01):
see that uh
Pony girl was surprised that the fact
that we were only two minutes late as
opposed to for example three or four
days late or just not no yeah no showing
yeah exactly we like to we feel like
there is a value in ghosting the
audience sometimes to just make you
leaving wanting them or wanting more

(04:23):
rather than wanting less exactly you
miss us you're reminded of hey what's
missing it is what it is it's a good
relationship we have with our with our
audience
um so as far as as preparedness stuff
goes we literally like we have no plan
tonight we often have no plan we have
it's preparedness potpourri it is it's
primaris potpourri Community Q a it's

(04:46):
all other things
um so what what have you been up to in
the last week prepping project wise is
there anything that has really been kind
of uh working through yeah it's a a kind
of more like in the top off of different
things like uh uh when it's summertime
usually I want to top off all the
propane tanks and those kind of things

(05:07):
for uh one you could use it for barbecue
season but that's just the kind of the
time that I that I use it again we're
going on this uh down to Oregon and so
uh you know kind of getting ready with
any kind of vehicle preps and getting
the vehicles and good uh working order
and starting to do the uh packing for
that uh so but I'm trying to think if I

(05:28):
have any large projects again Mrs Irvin
prepper took over the gardening
operation and so that we're growing um
uh you know Carolina Reaper peppers and
peppers I can't eat and we're I'm
fighting deer because the deer keeps I
guess uh
Carolina Reaper Peppers yeah it would
solve its own problem yeah I think so

(05:48):
because uh uh I didn't know that deer
like for rose petals for deers like it's
like yeah cocaine or something they love
it so they so they're just addicted to
this uh these rose petals so I've been
having to put up all this deer fencing
to protect that and uh but yeah Mrs
Urban prepper's uh everything's growing
according to plan uh which is good for
for the garden for the home Garden so

(06:09):
very lovely very nice very nice
um speaking of coming to Oregon I was I
was watching a Wrangler Star Tick Tock
because now I have gone down the rabbit
hole right the gorilla Gorilla Warfare
he has such great advice and then he
does things and I'm like oh my goodness
uh it's just it's a step and a half more
than I would feel comfortable putting

(06:30):
out on the internet but like he does it
with such Flair and Panache but he was
saying it like he comes to Portland for
work and so I feel like what I need to
do is reach out to him and see if I can
like take him to lunch just like I did
to you and and then we would bring him
on like and then we can really I don't

(06:50):
know talk about forestry things or how
to disable the robot dogs or something
like that that video really really stood
out with me like how to disable the
robot dog I wasn't expecting that from
him again because we we watched his
videos for many years and it was always
family friendly and that never was about
that kind of stuff and now it's full on

(07:10):
guerrilla warfare with with yeah but
yeah it sounds like something may have
happened like between him and the forest
service or something like like he'd work
for them and then maybe he doesn't
anymore and there's some animosity there
maybe I don't know so he's like I'm
gonna I'm gonna Teach the World how to
exactly how to bring it down well I

(07:31):
thought I saw one of those talks it was
like it was a uh like a fragment of an
interview I think that he had put up and
he was like well I now own if you Google
like U.S forestry service or search U.S
forester service who comes up and he had
basically decided to do like a digital
end around the entire U.S Forester and

(07:52):
now like he is like the first result or
something like that I was like that is a
mad scientist genius level stuff right
there love it
that is yeah uh yeah usually when we go
down to Port when we go down to Central
Oregon we we go down I-5 and then once
we get to Portland we're like okay let's
go around there and go the Mount Hood
way so we we avoid Portland had no

(08:14):
offense to the portlandians but uh
that's fair we don't want you here
anyway you outline you outlier Lander
people from other places you stay out
yeah no we go through Mount Hood and off
the back way so yeah yeah it's kind of
Portland's also kind of laid out really
interesting like Seattle is like in the
middle of a mountain and there's like
one freeway that goes through the middle

(08:36):
of it
always congested whereas Portland it's
like uh they built like a circle of
freeways so when you come in you kind of
like circle around the city but it kind
of lets you like get off kind of like
the roundabouts in like traffic
um like like traffic circles and stuff
like that
um it's still not big enough like

(08:57):
there's still traffic everywhere but
like you kind of can like choose to get
off and go back roads or some of that
sort of thing yeah I think it's a better
design of a city uh for like uh I mean
it's flat there for one so you could
kind of walk around and have a nightlife
and there's like the the freeway doesn't
go right in the middle of the city like
whoever whoever thought that was good in
Seattle oh yeah let's have a go right

(09:17):
through the middle of the city and so we
can't expand ever uh yeah and then every
everything's on hills and on uh on
secret underground tunnels and stuff
it's it's nuts yeah it's not also kind
of I think it's kind of funny too
because I always feel like Portland you
know rightfully so we've had issues and
everything else but what I feel like is

(09:37):
a lot of the people that still are like
on top of like how awful Portland is are
not people who live like or go into
Portland like they're people who go to
like there's like three blocks in
Portland that you should probably avoid
and then like it's people from the East
Coast it's people from like Alabama
they're like I would never go to
Portland I'm like you've never been like

(09:57):
like we go every weekend for things and
like it's a city it's not like the
safest place in the world it's also not
like the worst place in the world it's a
city like anybody else but anyway
um I digress
um I made a video about it but anyway
um so yeah prepping projects we were

(10:19):
kind of uh I did a thing
last over the weekend that I never
thought I would do
um and so I wanted to run it by you and
see you know as as we're talking now I'm
getting ideas from what we can talk
about yeah here we go
um I actually sold some of my uh old
preparedness equipment it's a different

(10:40):
proper garage sale
kind of
um we were trying to just kind of
organize and like get a little more
efficient in life and
um I had some Goal Zero batteries uh
like the yeti 400s that I I liked but
they were super heavy and we needed just

(11:01):
a different configuration and yeah I
know Pony girl it is whenever I do a
thing it's just it's always a problem
um and I had like the the Bolder rigid
but they were 30 watt solar panels and
they were what they had at Costco when I
was first starting out and I was like
okay I need this so let's just get it

(11:22):
um and now I've kind of I feel like
graduated into like we have the foldable
solar panels that are higher wattage and
we have different battery options and
everything and I was like you know these
probably We are Never Gonna use let's
take those and let's roll the cash into
um some different batteries let's save
it get ready for Prime day because

(11:42):
there's always like batteries and cables
and survival stuff that goes on huge
discount on Prime day
um but oftentimes like when my wife will
be like hey do we need 19 flashlights
I'm like yes we need 19 flashlights like
we're never getting rid of flashlights
because they can just go in more places
um what is your kind of opinion on the
like recycling or cycling out of

(12:05):
old gear yeah I think uh what what I do
personally I think well I think it's a
good idea to do that especially with
with flashlights like they keep getting
better and better for for one but uh
usually uh what I'll do is it starts off
in the EDC or like as a heavily used
item and then as I get a new one it gets
downgraded to some kind of uh evacuation

(12:28):
kit bug out bag style thing and then
eventually it gets into a some other
thing and eventually it's like end of
life for that one so I I usually donate
them to people or uh donate them to uh
like sometimes our local school has like
an auction so I'll put together a little
prepper uh Buckle bag with a really old
stuff so use if the Tufts used

(12:52):
EVC material yeah it's a huge auction
thing it's it's like game used from like
the Seahawks or something like it's
do you know that the urban prepper has
touched this keychain like that's
happened it's been in his pocket it's
part of it's been part of the prepper
bulge yeah and and as a result we'll

(13:16):
start the bids out yeah but yeah yeah
for I I too also have a lot of
flashlights and a lot of them they they
eventually get to like uh end of life
where they go go to the donation pile
but usually I find places to put other
there's plenty of little kits and stuff
that I could use a flashlight whether it
be in the vehicles or in a little go bag

(13:36):
or in a a motel go bag kit that I have
or and all those other kind of ones so
uh but yeah I I I I still want to do my
own prepper garage sale because I have I
should probably get rid of some
backpacks and some other things uh
because you need to you need to sign the
items you donate oh geez I think that

(13:56):
lowers the value probably but it is
completely the opposite yeah I think
like I think what you also need is you
need to do it what we need to do here's
what we need to do we need to do an
online option
okay yeah and and we need you pick a
charity whatever it is and then you're
gonna have like your old EDC stuff or

(14:18):
whatever and then sign it but you'll
have to do like a doodle of like your
face kind of like what um like Disney
characters do when you go to like
Disneyland or Disney World that's a good
idea they like draw like their faces
instead of like actually their names
um I think I think we should do that I
don't really have a tough signature I
mean I just signed my normal name but uh

(14:40):
uh I guess I should start working on
something yeah that seems like a
security breach right there if you would
sign your own name I think we need to
have I think we really need Beyond I
also I give my mother's maiden name and
some other things but usually sometimes
Social Security numbers all that almost
all the usual yeah yeah yeah pigs fly is
an agreement this is a fantastic idea
um I mean let's be honest I came up with

(15:02):
it as as uh party girl said I did a
thing I came up with an idea it's never
it's never normal
um so yeah I think that could be fun
because you used to do you used to do
like uh um like a walk
yeah where you would like put like a
backpack on I don't remember if it was
like at the YMCA or whatever like for

(15:22):
like creepy YouTube stalker side is
showing now
um but yeah you used to do like a walk
for charity thing yeah that was the uh
for a Relay for Life or uh American
Cancer Society and uh do the 24-hour bug
uh bug out walk basically so having the
bug out bag and going around the track
for 24 hours to uh for uh yeah kind of a

(15:43):
cancer benefit what type one nice uh but
yeah that was really funny I got to meet
a lot of cool Preppers on there that was
the first time I met the the mountain RN
came down all the way from Canada to one
of the walks and he was so good uh when
we did that one and it uh the some of
the kit some of the supplies that he had
in his kit like the hat that he used he
used the the buff headwear and I was

(16:04):
using more of like a traditional kind of
uh REI style hat and since then I
switched to his hat because it's it was
just a better option and so yeah those
are those were pretty fun I haven't done
those for for a while just but we do
other things other different charitable
type type things so yeah all right so
yeah and Chuck says I get 10 yeah yeah I

(16:26):
mean that's that's a given that's good
that's standard it's kind of like it's
kind of like tight it's tithing I think
to Chuck yeah exactly it's like the
payment processing fee it's the idea
processing fee that's what happens and
yeah that works out
um we don't have yeah but I was trying
to think of any other larger uh you know
prepping projects I mean everything's
just kind of like in uh you know top off

(16:47):
certain things I still meaning to get to
that junk drawers just driving me
bonkers uh but nothing nothing too huge
as far as like a
yeah summertime are you finding that as
you're going uh like you're planning a
trip yeah
um
have you have you taken the time before
you leave to do the like okay what

(17:08):
emergency supplies bug out vehicle preps
all that sort of stuff are needed yet or
are you gonna wait until you get a
little closer uh we'll do it a little
bit closer to be honest we don't go too
hardcore on that kind of things that
you'll all have the basic stuff that you
normally have uh but I don't use I don't
have a checklist I probably should have
more of a refined checklist that shows

(17:28):
the view because the vehicle preps are
always there anyway so yeah we don't
really change that too much and it's
more of like okay making sure that uh
preparing the vehicles uh you know the
oil and the timing belts and all that
kind of stuff making sure that's all up
to date so we're not stranded in the
middle of uh
what in one of those towns in Center
Middleburg

(17:49):
star says
yeah although the ATF just came uh looks
like oh all right yeah this is this is
this is a conspiracy theory that okay
yeah those are stolen uh I'm not gonna
how many children did you I'm not gonna
confirm or deny the exactly look I'm

(18:09):
yeah that is that I plead the fifth
there's there's no comment
um actually yeah this is the
um my children actually steal them from
my office and go take them into their
rooms
um so I have to continue to restock is
you know kind of what's what's happening
um

(18:30):
tub has no checklist so I have a PDF for
The View I have a PDF for the vehicle
yes but they're already there so it's
not like I'm like okay pigs fly also
doesn't have a PDF chart like everyone
is shocked you have well we're going to
rename this episode too is tup exposed
yeah top slipping confronting top no PDF

(18:52):
um I feel like that's what we'll call it
well Mrs River says after PDF so yeah
exactly F your PDFs and and tap your
tanks I guess I don't know or change
your top uh something like that whoa
Workshop but I feel like there's
something there but I don't know exactly
what it is yeah your backdrop it looks
pretty similar to what my if if uh kid

(19:12):
prepper had a backdrop it would probably
have some similar items I I don't yeah
some of them there yeah
there's some good stuff there yeah yeah
this is I still haven't brought Pac-Man
down I'm very uh that's what I because
you said that you were gonna boot
Optimus Prime for Pac-Man and that that
seems like that seems a little extreme a
little yeah yeah

(19:33):
the game is so cool
the Lego thing it's one of the coolest
Lego sets I have put together and as you
can tell I have put together lots of
Lego sets
um but that was why not why not get rid
of Hulkbuster back there well I mean I
could but Hulkbuster is kind of a
showpiece like it is yeah it's big um I
don't really have anywhere else to put

(19:54):
well I think wherever that uh that you
have that cup that's back there that
seems like a good spot for Hulkbuster
maybe or yeah right there yeah because
then you could see his head because
right now it's kind of like uh Back to
the Future where they have the heads
cropped you couldn't see them so that's
true or maybe I'll put Pac-Man over
there this is just some interior
decorating tips yeah yeah exactly
prepping prepping your your Legos yeah

(20:15):
and I have a PDF for interior decorators
the first car but he does look I do have
a vehicle Press pdf I don't want that to
get out there because then
[Laughter]
tag your time there is this I believe
this is what's called we have opened the
can of proverbial worms yeah

(20:36):
um yeah
um
ATF wow that first is accusing you of
stealing toys then in the dumpster
sir
sir it would be a recycling bin I do
live in in Portland everything is
recycled here they've just go we'd go to

(20:57):
uh to that yeah there's uh we're
decorating what's up yeah yeah I like uh
yeah someone said it'd be fun to like uh
like go to people's houses and and
modularize some of their preps or
whatever and yeah fun little project but
I I like doing that but uh uh yeah

(21:17):
it could be like you could be like the
Marie condo of the cupping does this
prep bring you Joy yes yes or no and
then you would you could thank the prep
kind of like I did with the solar panels
thank you for being here in case I
needed yeah 30 watts of solar power
um I will now send you off and replace

(21:38):
you with it's kind of yeah like Naked
and Afraid when they do that and they
kill one of the animals to eat it to
survive it yeah they think the animal
usually thank you for giving your and
you you do the same thing with preps
usually or with the Hulkbuster or
anything or about the Hulkbuster Legacy
yeah exactly 100
um also don't tell ATF but there is
actually a small Iron Man that

(22:01):
um set that you get that actually goes
inside of the Hulkbuster and the Iron
Man is like the size of
Optimus Prime to give you a sense of
scale wow um and I have that one too I
just haven't put it together some yeah
uh you're asking about charging up stuff
yeah I I do charging uh twice a year
usually like on uh in the beginning in

(22:23):
the springtime and in the summer so like
kind of like uh in January when everyone
uh you know they get their gym
membership because they want to lose
weight for the year and then they they
stop going after a month I I do charging
and I have them in a uh in a mission
Darkness uh uh bag because for just just
in case there's an EMP that I got to
worry about exactly yeah we need to get

(22:44):
a affiliate link down below for yeah and
and just again for Costco if you if you
do want to you know sponsor this yeah
exactly yeah everyone just make sure you
tag Costco waiting on that sponsorship I
don't know how it is down in the
Portland District but uh the the
Costco's up here keep seeing more and
more prep type stuff there there
I see the different ready food I see uh

(23:08):
uh ammo cans all sorts of stuff so
they're they're going they're going yeah
and they do it a lot too in the
Springtime uh and summer I mean you can
call it preps it's a lot of camping
stuff like they have tents and sleeping
bags and cots and all kinds of stuff
um but yeah they have the ready like the

(23:28):
um Mountain uh what's it called mountain
mountain house
um yeah like there's three or four
different brands of freeze-dried food
that they have
um I think also
um for those of you who would like to go
down the Costco prepping Rabbit Hole
um
go online because they have way more

(23:49):
stuff uh at costco.com that is like
emergency preparedness stuff then they
do even in the stores so you can get
batteries and flashlights and that sort
of stuff but like you can get like a
Year's worth of freeze-dried food off of
Costco.com yeah
um so yeah big fans of Costco Costco
anytime you want to sponsor us yes we're

(24:11):
still waiting for it we'll have their
people contact our people yeah yeah meat
meat prices are still kind of rough
they'll keep going up yeah but uh
even at Costco yeah exactly it seems
like all of a sudden like everywhere
that had been holding meat prices like
steady there was like a week where it
just step changed and everything went up
like two or three dollars a pound yeah

(24:33):
and I was like wait what happened you
were all doing fine a minute ago and now
like
it's all different so yeah I'm not
eating that impossible beef for the bug
stuff or I want to
I want Wilbur

(24:53):
that's from that's the pig right or the
pig's name was Wilbur yeah from
Charlotte's Web what's the yeah or Mr Ed
what are the other well what's the cow's
name from City Slickers that uh yeah uh
I don't remember it was uh
it was like a cute name it was a really
cute name
um I want to say it was like buttons or
or something like that but we'll have

(25:16):
someone fact check it for you yeah
exactly someone could Google that in the
chat that'd be great
um Preppers don't prep veal nearly
enough yeah exactly no we uh but Norman
Norman yeah there you go fantastic we
can always counselor on our chat on a no
yeah exactly they know everything that's
fantastic
um let's see uh yeah Costco has a lot of

(25:39):
tin foil for all of your hat making yeah
we can make some hats and some uh
Faraday bat cages exactly yes or as as
the shirt design says tin foil is for
leftovers not for hats I have I have a
couple of those big Costco tin foil or
no I don't you don't need a couple you
just need one because it's a humongous
and then also the the the plastic wrap
stuff and uh they're they're huge in the

(26:01):
last forever but yeah yeah exactly the
Costco like the individual sheet ones
that they have that's super convenient
uh I am uh in the process of I was
moving some furniture out of my office
last weekend and so I'm hoping that in
the next couple of weeks one of the
summer projects is to actually start
putting stuff into the metal boxes that
are hiding underneath my office to do

(26:22):
the whole bunker thing and and in theory
the metal boxes will be Faraday cages so
that we can we can put some stuff in
there that electronic wise that would be
fantastic yeah I Still Rock a lot of the
they're not cages but they're Faraday
bags that I that I have and I have
they're all over the place so uh I still
like going off the grid with those so so

(26:43):
hopefully someday as Costco will have
like the number 10 cans for different uh
food preps that's that's when you know
they're going full on prepper so yeah
yeah they have they
have like the
some things no
no and I've seen some of the
freeze-dried stuff you can get in 10
cans from there

(27:04):
um Chuck apparently has been hearing
from the robot Birds
um about copper foil so copper foil I
don't I don't have any copper foil
that's a that's a gap that's a gap yeah
it costs 38 000 yes copper foil does
it's it's more valuable than gold foil I
think
um that'd be kind of cool to have like a

(27:26):
a copper foil hat like for that's that'd
be new that's like it's a new one yeah
or generic
this or that uh the oatmeal that we that
I have on our five gallon uh buckets
with the bags uh I think I got them at
uh Smart Food where I I think they were
just uh

(27:46):
generic rolled oats I thought uh I
yeah I'm not too picky I'm not too picky
because I don't eat it anyway so it's
just it's just for long-term storage
hopefully I'll never have to open it so
yeah we we had we have to redo our
oatmeal because we got it and did the
kind of
um this is a thing we eat so we'll get
extra of it so we were doing like the
Bob's Red Mill

(28:07):
uh uh steel cut oats yeah
um it's a you know Bob's Red Mill very
big in the Portland area
um oh elsewhere as well but but they're
headquartered in Portland
um so we we had gotten those and then
they went on sale I want to say it was
either at Whole Foods or at Costco and
so we bought like three or four cases of
it

(28:28):
um but then we stopped eating oatmeal
and so we just kind of sat on shelves
and so now I think we need to switch and
re-replenish that with something
probably cheaper and new yeah for
because I don't yeah for I don't eat a
lot of oatmeal and I don't eat like you
know whole grain Wheats like like that
you have to grind up so I I think I'd

(28:49):
probably just go cheap or generic or
whatever whatever's available I'm not
too picky on those so yeah
um hard-rolled oats is that
um so hard roll so I was thinking about
just the the the oat
that's not rolled that
um it's kind of like the equivalent of
getting the

(29:10):
um
like corn that you would then grind into
cornmeal and so it lasts longer or the
wheat berry that you would grind into
flour so it would last longer I was
thinking that oh the hard roll is for
that but it's not yeah so
um but yeah definitely uh oatmeal is
always a good thing
um I've been we've been uh I've been

(29:31):
intermittent fasting so I haven't been
doing breakfast for a while so for a
little over a month so how's that going
for you
well I think it's the Preppers diet I
think yeah it's the Preppers like a
dietary Planet during shtf you probably
yeah you're probably not going to have
breakfast lunch and dinner or maybe you
don't need to like I imagine the Cowboys
like in uh the Cowboys didn't have you

(29:53):
know breakfast lunch dinner I bet they
just had one big meal and I think you
get lucky another one so I'm getting my
body used to that so
very cool just in case and it does make
it does make you feel better like when
you're like kind of you're kind of
hungry your stomach's growling a little
bit and uh yeah I feel more alert uh
especially during that when you get to
past that 12 hour mark that 12 to 16

(30:15):
hours where you're kind normally you
would eat during that time but pushing
through that you kind of kind of wakes
you up it makes you feel feel a little
bit better on it so it's a it's been
good oh very lovely I have to I may have
to experiment with that I am trying to
do uh smoothies now I got one of the
blend jets that like is all over Tick
Tock

(30:36):
um because basically I only buy things
that you tell me to buy or Tick Tock
tells me to buy like that's that's it
um and then either but comes from Amazon
Target or Costco that's I've simplified
my life in that way Mark Zuckerberg has
his white t-shirts or his gray t-shirts
and his jeans or whatever and I have my
two sources of shopping information and

(30:56):
my three stores to buy stuff
um but uh I've actually enjoyed it
actually works really well and it's
charges with a USB C cable it doesn't
it's not like a plug-in
um so I was kind of thinking like there
is some
preparedness to that that I want to
explore perhaps of

(31:17):
um just kind of what you could do with
like a rechargeable blender that had
like some actual power to it
um potentially instead of like having
your uh standard blender that you would
like you know plug into a 110 that's
going to draw a bunch of of
um amperage and wattage and power and
everything from your battery banks that
you probably wouldn't use but having

(31:38):
something that runs on like a USB sort
of a thing could be interesting yeah so
um yeah a lot of uh a lot of people
talking about the cowboy diet let's see
yeah beans and biscuits uh beans and
releasing gas okay yeah exactly we went
to the poop drawer Pony girl brought it
there I made I made the mistake of just

(31:58):
picking Pony girls comment because I
thought it would be uh clean and it's
yeah yeah exactly yeah beans and
biscuits uh rabbit only yeah I I don't
know that I I mean I'm sure in an
emergency I would be down for that but
yeah I think the emergency situation
like yeah I think rabbits would uh

(32:20):
uh they would multiply quickly and so
but yeah it'd be a little tough yeah my
daughter would have a hard time with
that too but I I know like when we
watched uh 1883 they were they would uh
make some kind of stew and if they could
catch rabbit and they it was it was in
this dude yeah I feel like we're the
Fisher Price of prepping and I'm like
the Fisher Price of food options because

(32:41):
when you get like the Fisher-Price farm
it's like a chicken a cow and a pig and
like that for me is is when you start
adding in like the deluxe playset and
it's got like sheep and Duck and all
kinds of like uh you've lost me at that
point yeah
um all right well unfortunately you
usually have piano lessons I have uh

(33:02):
this is the one week I don't have piano
lessons you've just are you're
scheduling nightmare
I'm a shirt and everything let me go
diva of prepping it's just hilarious uh
whatever we could do for you
so we're doing we're doing summer skills
um and so my wife has this whole life

(33:23):
skills kind of
um Camp curriculum that she got online
that she's kind of adapting for the kids
so we're doing a lot of like
um like I think I've mentioned over the
last year we've had a lot of medical
things that have come up and and stuff
so we're doing a lot of
um kind of learning habits that will
help with those medical issues

(33:45):
um and taking the summer for them to
learn how to cook uh with that budget
with that
um make food in a way that is sensitive
to other people so there's just kind of
all that stuff so every week one of the
things that they do is each kid has to
pick a menu and then they have to and
then we give them a budget and then they
have to go to the store they have to buy

(34:07):
all the ingredients for that meal using
the budget that we have given them and
then they have to come home and then
they have to make it and so that to
learn whatever the techniques are to do
on Wednesdays so my daughter does
Wednesdays and my son does Sunday so
last week my daughter did egg fried rice
and uh sauteed chicken and uh like a

(34:30):
caesar salad bar sort of a thing
um and then she made a cake with
frosting and pudding and all kinds of
stuff
um and then my son made marry me chicken
and creme brulee uh on Sunday and so
tonight my daughter is doing breakfast
for dinner so uh so yeah so it's super
fun and then they each get to pick their

(34:50):
stuff and they do all that stuff so it's
like a good family a wholesome family
activity it's you know we're just trying
to you know raise children
that's how they roll in Portland they do
family yeah exactly
yeah so in the meantime as you were
talking everyone's talking smack about
you leaving and about
Chucky we are the real show they are

(35:12):
just the side entertainment you know
what people if you
think that's really what it is it's just
it's like we just show up we just host a
chat room so people can talk amongst
themselves that we just cut out to talk
about so remember when top had his
Discord and there were lots of people
there and they wanted well now like

(35:33):
Trump is born
live stream to bring people together to
chat while we just kind of sit and oh my
gosh now look who popped in you have to
leave for for this family thing Sutton's
days oh my goodness come on get my
collar ready yeah exactly get get
prepared
um yeah my mouth spray oh wait that's

(35:55):
pepper spray
[Music]
[Laughter]
pepper spray nearby on live streams just
in just in case you never know you know
it's like them those mirror safety ads
where they're like have you pepper
sprayed yourself before and it's
mirror masks
like that's the same thing like this is

(36:17):
one of those times where you've
accidentally pepper sprayed yourself
yeah I've never I've never accidentally
done it but uh it's gonna happen someday
so because yeah every once in a while
I'll look down and it's like it's in the
ready position and
why do you have a pepper spray
on your desk like like I have them in
drawers and things like in case like

(36:38):
there was a thing like in My Little like
that's my little go for my laptop and
yeah I have it there too so it's they're
all over the place though okay wow just
don't you sometimes these live streams
they get dangerous and you want to have
the pepper spray nearby so you never
know who's gonna want to build right off
the top so yeah
laughs

(36:59):
um yeah something yeah it's just it's
it's a whole when Sunday shows up yeah
it's yeah that's yeah it's a moment
we're Starstruck at that point you know
it's it's a whole thing
um yeah Sundays I mean
sure yeah I've never I've never done it
before I mean I've sprayed myself when I

(37:20):
had a gas mask on but not with uh
out of the skin yeah that just seems
that seems like an unfortunate thing uh
yeah my wife was like yeah you idiot
what are you doing yeah
he's like well I need the I need the
clicks I need the view I need the dozens
of sense yes

(37:41):
it's cheap heat it's cheap heat that's
yeah
oh my goodness all right everybody well
I I hate to do it like I had I but known
that this was gonna happen I was like
okay the last few months later and then
at six so we didn't know Sun stage was
gonna come on right at the end so we

(38:02):
well exactly I didn't know that you
didn't have piano lessons I didn't yeah
we didn't know if there was any doubt of
what an amateur hour this show is it's
not even a full hour it's like a half an
hour now because we're just trying to
make it work with what we've got yeah
um all right well we will maybe in the
next couple of weeks maybe we'll we'll
sort out this with all the traveling and

(38:23):
everything else and we'll at least come
up with them there's gonna be some time
where I'm gonna be down in your neck of
the woods maybe I'll have to do a remote
uh live from Oregon type thing so that
would be lovely yeah I mean I know that
you're not planning on going through
Portland but like maybe I can meet you
on the Outer Rim or something yeah
uh also you need to give me the uh text
me the name of that Italian place

(38:45):
um that you were talking about yeah the
death row meal yeah I mentioned that to
my wife
um and and as we are going up to Seattle
she was very intrigued so yeah I think
that might happen we'll score some
brownie points on that one so okay all
right because we also have to figure out
we also have to figure out a a place to
go with with you guys yeah so I mean

(39:07):
there's a possibility that that might
just happen yeah we'll uh if we might
and we might record live there because
everyone because the wives will love
that oh that would be fun and so will
the other patrons yeah they love that
yeah I've got portable little ring
lights we could we could put those up on
the table I think that would be great
I'm gonna just put my main ring lights
on like this yeah yeah just bring that

(39:29):
that'll be great I think that'll be
it'll be cool
yes all right everyone well thanks for
joining us uh episode 60 uh you know was
it was a solid one we were a little
nervous but we made it happen Tim's
gonna try not to spray himself
um and uh we'll see you all next week at
some point Wednesday Friday 5 30 5 30 in

(39:50):
the morning in the morning this time
that would be fantastic that would
really throw everyone off yeah exactly
all right everybody we'll see you next
week thanks a lot bye
