Cette semaine, nous recevons Véronique Basile Hébert. Véronique Basile Hébert est une artiste de théâtre Atikamekw de la communauté de Wemotaci. Doctorante en Études et Pratiques des arts à l’UQAM, en recherche-création en théâtre, sur le sujet du Nitaskinan/Kitaskino, le territoire ancestral des Atikamekw Nehirowisiwok. Elle détient un baccalauréat en théâtre de l’Université d’Ottawa ainsi qu’une maîtrise en dramaturgie portant sur le chamanisme chez Jovette Marchessault. Participante du programme de formation de la compagnie de théâtre autochtone Ondinnok, en collaboration avec l’École Nationale de Théâtre du Canada, elle a également été l’une des créatrices du théâtre de rue du Festival Présence Autochtone de Montréal. Professeure invitée à l’UQTR, elle a contribué à la mise sur pied du microprogramme en Études autochtones. Par ailleurs, dans sa pratique, elle priorise les productions d’œuvres intergénérationnelles et parfois plurilingues, au sein des communautés autochtones et a collaboré aussi avec diverses compagnies de théâtre. S'inspirant de la Nature et de sa culture, elle écrit, met en scène et interprète ses spectacles avec des artistes issus de diverses origines. Son théâtre est engagé, près de ses préoccupations d’autochtone, de mère, et d’artiste bispirituelle.
