The Toyota 4Runner has been a staple for Toyota for decades since it was originally introduced in 1984, and its about time for an upgrade coming soon with the 2025 Toyota 4Runner. Here are a few things you can expect with the upcoming sixth-generation 2025 Toyota 4Runner.
It is very possible that the new 4Runner could borrow the Tacoma’s powertrain lineup as the two SUVs have always closely resembled one another. This means that the 2025 4Runner could replace its 270-horsepower 4.0-liter V6 engine with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that could produce somewhere around 250 horsepower. Toyotas new 4Runner could also include the Tacoma’s i-Force Max hybrid powertrain that pairs a four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, increasing the total output to 316 horsepower.
