>> Skylar (00:10):
Hello, weary traveler. I'm not sure what
strange magic must have brought you here, but you have
stepped into a realm of my creation. A,
ah, sprawling city filled with danger and
glory, and most importantly, lots of
gold. I call it Isan
Numis. Who am I, you might ask?
The name is Jariv, and I'm the patron

(00:32):
deity of gambling. Long story
short, this group of idiots, or as
you may call them, heroes, made a bet with me that
they had what it took to make a mass trove of gold,
but left some.
Of the key details blank.
So I filled them in myself. I sent
them to this pocket dimension into the city I

(00:53):
had created with. With brand new bodies they'd
have to attune to.
Can these fools pass my test, or.
Will they be trapped here forever? So experience my
world of trials and tribulations and
join alongside this posse of pitiful
people. Or as I like to call them, the
criminals of Isan Numis.

(01:15):
And welcome back to another episode of Criminals
of Isaumis. Last, time when you
guys. Maybe I should inter you guys first. I don't know. That feels right. And
then I'll do a recap. Yeah, we'll do that. We'll do that.

>> Quinn (01:26):
All right.

>> Cameron (01:26):
Try again.

>> Skylar (01:27):
Yeah, well, we can. We can leave it as is. people get a
kick out of me struggling to intro an episode
of the podcast, I think. I don't know. We'll see what happens. But whatever the
case, to my right, we've got
Dave playing Machki.

>> Dave (01:42):
Hi, Dave here playing Maia Skylar.
Just Maki is
a Kinku who used to be
a human monk, but
now is a Kingu sorcerer.
Likes to take a walk on the shadow
side. You know what I

(02:02):
mean?

>> Skylar (02:04):
Maybe if you've been listening, I would hope so.
We're gonna see that. I'm sure. Even more as we've
seen the strange magic spark from within Maki and
slowly start to ride that. I don't
know where I was going with that. Whatever the case,
fantastic. Next to Dave, we've got Quinn,
who's playing Feather McGregor, aka
Lil Sauce. yeah.

>> Quinn (02:25):
So Feather McGregor. I think we're, Last
time we, I was having a met with
McGriddle's father.

>> Skylar (02:32):
pretty much go all this.

>> Quinn (02:33):
I know. But that's vital my character.

>> Skylar (02:35):
Oay.

>> Quinn (02:36):
So, you know, I think we're gonna go down that past night. U.
he's kind of conflicted with. With what's going on.
Recruited the help of these guys. So excited to see where that
goes.

>> Skylar (02:46):
Absolutely.

>> Quinn (02:47):
Y.

>> Skylar (02:47):
That's Gonna be intense. Awesome. Next to Quinn, we've
got Jackson. Jackson's playing Diz. U.

>> Cameron (02:53):
I'm Jackson or Jack. I played Desz. He
was a Trident fighter and is now a
Keanku ranger. fun fact about Des,
he is, terrified of pufferfish.

>> Skylar (03:04):
Pufferfish. Interesting.

>> Cameron (03:05):
Aren't we all? The expansion of their w
bodies. I mean, some people
might be into that, but he just thinks it's very
uncomfortable. Some people might. He believes they
should just stop.

>> Skylar (03:17):
just stay the size you are. Why don't you got to get so big
and spiky? Yeah, this is. Are they put. They're
poisonous too. Are the spikes poisonous? or it just eating.

>> Cameron (03:25):
I think pufferfish are just poisonous if you cook them wrong.

>> Skylar (03:27):
Okay. Gotchau.

>> Cameron (03:29):
You can't eat them.

>> Skylar (03:30):
How strange is that? Like they've got poison inside of them.

>> Cameron (03:33):
It's like eating raw chicken. Oh,
liver makes a deadlier.

>> Skylar (03:38):
Anyways, interesting. Next to Jackson, we've got
Fatty Lumpkins. AKA
see Keto.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (03:47):
Theo.

>> Skylar (03:48):
Right.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (03:49):
New body, new body name. Yeah, the old ones
a lot easier to remember.

>> Skylar (03:53):
That's true. Keto.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (03:54):
But anyways, Fatty here playing Keido.
Keido is a druid
turned echo night, and
he is eager to discover
his second Persona sometime tonight.

>> Skylar (04:09):
That's right. From forest to fighter,
we've got Kto.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (04:14):
Good catchphrase.

>> Skylar (04:15):
There we go. Yeah, you can use that. That's fine. next
to Fatty, we've gu. See, you seem so mean to say that,
but I mean, that's all.
We're rolling.
Next to Fatty, we've got Cameron, who's
playing. I see. I want to
say Fizzle Fingers. Becausez, man, that's catchy.
And I'm not saying Roric isn't, but
Roric. But now his. His in

(04:37):
the new body of a strange goblin named Fizzle
Fingers. I'm doing too much intro for you. Go for it.

>> Cameron (04:43):
No, you were doing great.

>> Skylar (04:44):
Well, I know I was doing great, but I didn't want to take your thunder.

>> Cameron (04:47):
That was that good pun. Unintended.
U. yeah. He was, a dwarf
barbarian. Loved Frost.
Now he's a goblin
rogue who loves, stealing
and dealing and zappin people.

>> Skylar (05:06):
Does Roick have any, reservations about the fact that he's a
goblin now? Like, does that bother him?

>> Cameron (05:11):
Well, I mean, you got.
No, Rog actually loved goblins because he was a.

>> Skylar (05:17):
He was a pirate.

>> Cameron (05:19):
in his former body, he was a pirate, and that still
kind of sheds through in his current Persona.
But, Ball being a pirate he would always have goblins on his ship,
and he always found them to be really hilarious. And he actually
learned goblin o Pirate.

>> Skylar (05:33):
Right on.

>> Cameron (05:33):
So he actually fits really well into this because he
just naturally knew Gobblelin.

>> Skylar (05:37):
Yeah. All right, fair enough. He fits the partir well.
Awesome.
Where last we left off, you guys had
all just left, like, an art
studio, and you trashed the place. And while you guys were
doing that, feather McGregor, ak little sauce

(05:58):
went out to go. Well, first he quit his job
with the sort of secret police department
known as blank space, and then went to
go visit his old dead
friend's father, Gideon
mcgriddle, who owns a little tinker shop out in
tinker's corner in the Atlantic Heights district.
While he was there, he learned a disturbing

(06:20):
fact that Gideon had
resurrected, allegedly, his son, in
the body of a puppet that he had designed.
And unfortunately, he lost control of it, and it
has been kidnapping the children of the
community surrounding Tinker square.
Distraught by this, you've returned to meet up with the rest of

(06:40):
your comrades in a tavern, hoping that
they will help help you in your search to
find and hopefully stop this,
strange undead being that is
your dead best friend.
You guys were finishing up in the tavern and where we left
off, you guys were just about to get the
bill to pay for your

(07:03):
food. And with that, we will kick things off with episode
11 of Criminals of
Isaumis.
Al right, guys, you guys are about to, As you guys are sitting
there, the drow Alton
Drow. Alton drow was approaching you in his

(07:23):
nice suit, and in his hand, he holds a
bill. you guys had told him that it was all gonna be on one
ticket, so it is, in fact, the entire meal on one ticket.
He approaches, he sets the bill or the ticket down.
He says, well, here's the ticket for
your meal today. Feel free to take as much time as
you need. Although we do have some guests that

(07:43):
would like to come in, so don't take too
long. And he walks away to go
help another table. You look at the bill, and you
see a total of
128 gold pieces
or all the drinks and food that everybody has
ordered and eaten.

>> Cameron (08:01):
Des, with his hands. With his
right hand on top of his left, makes the little
running man motion and points at the door.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (08:10):
I'm trying to recall what I ate at this
establishment, and I don't think I ate much, so I,
too, am okay with that.

>> Skylar (08:16):
I think you had a burger, but.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (08:18):
I can't be up do that.

>> Skylar (08:19):
I think So I order the most
burger.

>> Cameron (08:22):
I ordered the most expensive thing on the menu
because'for it, the plan is to make me pay for
it. No, Keito said he was gonna pay for it.

>> Skylar (08:30):
And then I know somebody ever acknowledged that somebody also got
a thing of fairy fries for the whole table.
Yeah, along with fairy fry sauce.

>> Cameron (08:38):
Where's your thatangeah?

>> Dave (08:40):
Ma Maki
waves his hand over the table,
says, just. It just has to look like we
paid. And creates a minor illusion of a p.
Pile of gold coins.

>> Cameron (08:54):
O. Wow.

>> Skylar (08:56):
Nice. All right. You got a whole pile
of gold coins on the table now, as far.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (09:02):
As anyone can tell, I'm content to
walk.

>> Skylar (09:05):
And you get you. I mean, I'm assuming you just walk out of there.
Yeah, I mean, I don't think anybody's suspecting
you of anything at the current moment, you do
see Alton Drow. He walks up to the table. He looks pretty happy.
You guys are about at the door. As he reaches
down to touch or pick up some of the gold. Maybe he's
got, like, a pouch or something that he scoops it into on his apron,
and his hand goes right through it. And at that

(09:27):
moment, he freezes for a moment, and then
he stiffens up and he starts to turn towards the
door. But you guys are already stepping outside into the
fresh air of freedom, and you hear a shout from behind
you. Hey, wait
a minute. They didn't pay there.
But you don't hear the word bill as the door closes behind

(09:48):
you.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (09:49):
I'm gonna turn to a little sauce over there and say, hey, do
you know some, back alleys that we could maybe make
ourselves scarce?

>> Quinn (09:57):
What counter? we in?

>> Skylar (10:00):
You guys are in. I believe you guys are in the medium. Back in the
medium district.

>> Dave (10:03):
Whatever happens, guys, just act
cool.

>> Quinn (10:07):
I mean, yeah, I know some back alleys we can. We can take
the one. There'd be a few back alleies I know about.
So, I mean,
say there's one behind the restaurant. Listen, let's cut behind the restaurant. We can cut
over across the behind over by the
river, and then we can get over to the centervville district, which we need to get to
anyways.

>> Cameron (10:28):
Jaz gives two thumbs up and starts walking in the wrong
direction.

>> Skylar (10:32):
Sorry. What was the building you were looking for?

>> Quinn (10:34):
Okay, sorry. No, just because we've got to get.

>> Skylar (10:36):
Over to Gideon's Gizmos and the gorge.

>> Quinn (10:39):
We have to go from a Mediumville, which would
cross the river, the
central Stark, cross the river
into,
Gorson.

>> Skylar (10:53):
Yeah, you could take the river down.

>> Quinn (10:54):
The river or the ferry?

>> Skylar (10:56):
Yeah, yeah, well, yeah, the ferry is in the river,
right?

>> Quinn (11:00):
The ferry leaves from what, the great Atlantis.
Yeah, yeah, we can get to. So if we take this back roadw behind the
restaurant, we can cut over and get to the ferry.
The last ferry should be, should still be there for the night. We can
cut over is Central from Central into
the Gorthon district.

>> Dave (11:16):
All right, but too many back roads and I'm go goingna start
singing country.

>> Skylar (11:22):
Algh. You guys go, sprinting around the
restaurant. As you do, you can hear the door fly open behind
you, and you hear shouts of where do you think they went?
I don't know, maybe that way. but at this point you've already,
Their shouts fade into the distance as you guys kind
of make your way through a series of back alleys,
until you reach the central Stark

(11:43):
district. Now, the central Stark district, it's a much
nicer area. You look at the buildings
and the rooftops and everything and it is just, it
is beautiful. Compared to the medium Bill, it
is a stark cut off, between the
two some central stark cut off, you
might say. I can read you guys the description if you
want, please, I love descriptions.

(12:06):
Nestled between the vibrant Atlantic Heights and
the humble Mediumville districts, the central
Stark district stands as a beacon of grandeur
and innovation. The bustling district is a
testament of the citys progress and the heart of its
culture and technological achievements. It is a place
where modern marvels and ancient traditions
intertwine, creating a unique tapestry of

(12:28):
possibilities. At the heart of the central Stark district
lies the renowned Temple of Light, a magific,
that magnificent structure that pieces or sorry,
pierces the sky with its towering spires. This
awe inspiring temple serves as a spiritual sanctuary,
drawing worshippipers from all walks of life who seek
soulace, guidance and enlightenment. Within

(12:49):
its hollowed halls, ancient rituals
and sacred ceremonies are performed carrying on the
legacy of the deity revered by the city's
inhabitants. Or at least this district. No,
they're across the city. Adjacent to the Temple of
Lights is the prestigious Colosseum, an ancient marvel
that hosts exhilarating combat tournaments

(13:09):
and gladiatorial fights. Its grand arena
echoes with the cheers of spectators as skilled
fighters engage in spectacular displays of strength, skill
and valor. These are, I assume, things that you
run past. You notice maybe in the distance or whatever. Maybe Feather
McGregor gives you a little bit of a rundown of it. whatever the case here,
clash, the weapons and the thunderous applause of the
crowds merge into a symphony of Excitement

(13:32):
and entertainment. Beyond the grandeur of the temple and
Colossum, the Central Star district is a bustling hub of
commerce, innovation and cultural expression. Its
streets are lined with opulent skyscrapers that
house cutting edge technological enterprises,
mouth bustling marketplaces adorned with colorful
awnings and a vibrant array of shops that offer everything from

(13:52):
fashion arts to the latest gadgets and
gizmos. As far as a hyphene mess he you
can offer. That's a basic gist of the central Start
district. it's very like culturally centered.
it's very much like we have a lot of
maybe medium to medium high, or
medium upper class there. Gok.

(14:12):
That's kind of the type of people that live here. So as you guys are kind of making
yourself way through the back alleys and so on and so
forth, you kind of spot a few people kind of going about
their later night business, whatever that might be. they're
all dressed fairly well, people are in,
maybe business casual to
business attire. even at this point in the
night, business never really ceases in the central

(14:35):
Stark district, at least. More legal
business. Mediumville. Plenty of business happens, but it's probably a
bit more questionable. So anyway, you guys make
yourselves or make your way through the back alleys of the Central
Star District for a little while until you reach the
edge of the river that pierces through the
center of the entire massive sprawling city
and runs all the way through. And there you can see a

(14:58):
small dock with a ferry boat. And it
looks like maybe one or two, maybe three people are getting on it.
It actually has some lanterns that hang off of it. It looks kind of
nice. They're all lit up. it all reflects against the water
in a really cool way. And you hear the man
who is, dressed in a sort of
wide brimmed hat, and he has a long stick

(15:18):
in his hand. Shout out last s call for
the fairry.
Let'call for the final no ferry
down to the Gorthham district.

>> Quinn (15:28):
Guys, we need to hit that. Yeah.

>> Cameron (15:30):
Ah, that Des'run to him, waving his hand, a big
smile on his face.

>> Skylar (15:35):
Oh, looks like we got a few stragglers.
Yes.
Come on, come on.
It's a gold piece. Please, please.
Unless you have a ah, pass.

>> Cameron (15:42):
Now, you did mention when we first
got here that the city is a little
racist.

>> Skylar (15:49):
Oh yes, that is very true.

>> Cameron (15:51):
Do we kind of stick out like a sore thumb in this
fancy district?

>> Skylar (15:55):
Absolutely.

>> Cameron (15:55):
Cool. Is he gonna let us on
his.

>> Skylar (15:59):
Boat at the Moment. He doesn't seem to mind as
long as you present the goal.

>> Cameron (16:03):
Okay.

>> Skylar (16:04):
It's one goal piece to take a full trip
all the way. A one way. It's a one way trip. One
way trip. If you're not familiar with how the ferry works,
you guys don't look like you're from around here, so I'm assuming
you don't.

>> Cameron (16:16):
How is this man dressed?

>> Skylar (16:18):
he's just kind of average. actually probably
fairly casual. he's got kind of like. He looks like
Monkey D. Luffy. He's got just kind of like a vest on. He's got the
big hat and then he's got like some janky looking
shorts.

>> Cameron (16:30):
Okay. Okay. Ah, Des walks up to him
and puts a gold coin where a shirt pocket
should be. but if he's dressed like monkey,
Dlubia just falls and he kisses him on the cheek and gets on the
boat.

>> Skylar (16:42):
He goes to catch it. And as he leans down to catch it, you
kiss him on the cheek.
And you a tip.
Ah.
Anyone else?
Let call.
Let's call for the fairry.

>> Quinn (16:55):
I'll give him a, Give him a goal. Hop on.

>> Skylar (16:57):
Thank you, sir.
Anyone else?
You lot.

>> Dave (17:00):
Yeah, I'm coming to. And be careful, dad.
Remember, you don't have lips anymore.

>> Skylar (17:06):
It's just
a literal peck on the cheek.
Nice.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (17:14):
Ye cut little follow suit and drop a gold into his
hands.

>> Skylar (17:17):
Perfect. And you, goblin,
are you joining? And you can actually. I'm glad you pointed that
out because you can actually see the like 3ish people,
that were already on the boat. They all like get up and they all kind of
move to the back. So they're all kind of sitting within each other.
Sitting. it's two humans. It looks like maybe they're a
couple or something. Man and a woman. and you see a

(17:38):
dragonborn. And they all just kind of scooch
towards the back.

>> Cameron (17:42):
Roick walks up to him and he's got his pouch. And he starts
digging through it.

>> Skylar (17:46):
And he goes, ah, how much? Oh, just one.
One gold piece.
unless you have a ah, pass. Oh yeah.

>> Cameron (17:54):
Ro cannot.

>> Skylar (17:54):
A monthly pass.

>> Cameron (17:55):
He produces one gold
piece.

>> Skylar (17:59):
Thank you, sir. Thank you very much. And he pockets
it into it. He's got a little pouch. He says, come on abo
board.

>> Cameron (18:06):
Yeah. And then he, waddles on in
and he takes a seat next to his friends.
And now I pose a question to Skylar.

>> Skylar (18:14):
Okay.

>> Cameron (18:15):
Because I was thinking about it.

>> Skylar (18:16):
Give me a second. Okay. This is Skyar.

>> Cameron (18:19):
Thank you. so Roke could not
counter read.

>> Skylar (18:23):
Okay, this is true.

>> Cameron (18:24):
But his new character. But his intelligence was
8. His new character now is an intelligence of
15.

>> Skylar (18:31):
Yes, that's a good point.

>> Cameron (18:33):
That's a big job.

>> Skylar (18:34):
I think at this time, I mean, all the way up until now, he
assumed he couldn't read, so he just kind of ignored
books. But I feel like words
kind of start to make sense now.
And as you like, he said one,
and you reach in your pouch and you pulled one out almost
instinctively. And it was what he asked

(18:54):
for, which is different for you as far. You wouldn't
have known, I guess. I mean, you kind of always just assumed you were doing things.
Right. But people always questioned you or second guessed you
when you did things.

>> Cameron (19:04):
No, Ro Canoe. He couldn't count.

>> Skylar (19:05):
Yeah. Yeah. Oh, okay. He was self aware.

>> Cameron (19:07):
No, he was very self aware.

>> Skylar (19:09):
And he was just kind of hoping.

>> Cameron (19:10):
Well, the thing is, people would never question him because he was a
barbarian. They would just kind of take it and not
complain.

>> Skylar (19:16):
Yeah. Oh, yeah.

>> Cameron (19:17):
Because you don't want to make it barbarian mad, right?

>> Skylar (19:20):
Yeah. There's definitely a sense of unexpected,
understanding that's kind of happening every once in a while whenever you
do accidentally glance at a word or
have to count something.

>> Cameron (19:31):
Now, do you think that this will transfer when we get out of this
world, or will you just be like, very
frustratedly?

>> Skylar (19:38):
It's kind of like I imag.

>> Cameron (19:40):
I ditch all the. I ditch all the picture books I
got. Yeah. Only to find out that I can't
read. Need them back again.

>> Skylar (19:48):
I imagine it's kind of like, some sort of like, Harry Potter
thing where, like, the words kind of start to just form
together and it's like, oh, wait a minute. But
I'm also a golin, right?

>> Fatty Lumpkins (20:00):
A goblin.

>> Skylar (20:00):
Speakon.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (20:01):
Are you saying goblins are dumb?

>> Cameron (20:02):
I'm a rogue. I figured I wouldn't have picked
up reading.

>> Skylar (20:08):
Fizzle Fingers is obviously very clever.

>> Cameron (20:10):
Yeah, I'm very smart goblin. Anyways, we can continue.

>> Skylar (20:13):
Okay. All right, Sounds good. So you guys hop onto the boat.
like I said, every once in a while you glance behind you and the
non. What was the word you used the other day?
Minion races.

>> Cameron (20:23):
Yeah, we're like the minion.

>> Skylar (20:24):
The min Henchmen races. Yeah, the non. Minion
races are kind of glancing. Some
dagger looks at you all whenever you look back towards
them. they're not super stoked you're here. But
the guy that runs the boat doesn't seem to care. He hops
ono the side and begins to push down with
this giant stick as he pulls you guys into the

(20:44):
water, which kind of carries you along in a nice, gentle
pace. And he pulls a little bit just to give it a little bit of extra
speed, but nothing that would make anybody uncomfortable or anything like
that. It's not a rushed, little boat. It
is kind of a bit more of a, ah, casual
transportation. And
eventually, maybe probably like 15
minutes later, he goes o.

(21:06):
And he slows it down as he starts to pull
against the stream. The boat kind of moves almost
strangely over to the side horizontally as
it pulls into the dock. And you look around, and now you are
in the Worthham district.

>> Dave (21:22):
As we get off the boat.
you said there was a couple on the boat?

>> Skylar (21:27):
Yes.

>> Dave (21:28):
Like a romantic couple?

>> Skylar (21:30):
Yeah, yeah.

>> Dave (21:32):
Possibly platonic.

>> Skylar (21:35):
They look very cozy.

>> Dave (21:37):
Who is a man and a woman?

>> Skylar (21:38):
Yes. Human. Ye. yes.

>> Cameron (21:40):
Are you getting progressive with that.

>> Dave (21:44):
Or is the dragon man in a mermaid?

>> Skylar (21:46):
I think the dragonborn sits so awkwardly
far from him that you feel pretty confident that he is, in a
way, involved in their romantic
relationship.

>> Cameron (21:56):
Darn.

>> Skylar (21:57):
Yeah. He's really missing out.

>> Cameron (21:59):
it could have been so much.

>> Dave (22:01):
Maki wants to try to figure out
where they. They're keeping, I don't know, their wallet
or something.

>> Skylar (22:07):
Okay. All right. Do you probably, either
an investigation check.
Holy cow.

>> Cameron (22:16):
All wallets are bulginges.

>> Skylar (22:19):
Yes. You see, very promptly, the
woman carries a purse that's slung across her
shoulder. The young man that is with
her, he, has, what looks like a
wallet that protrudes from his back pocket.
And as you guys kind of pull into the docks and he stands up, you can
see.
Whoa.
One butt cheek looks very strangely shaped compared to the other

(22:39):
butt cheek. There's probably a wallet in there. the
dragonborn, on the other hand, has a very nice
little sash, attached to his belt. It is a
velvet sash, and you can hear the occasional clink
of coins as he steps forward
over the seats of the boat.

>> Cameron (22:56):
Des runs. We
stopped, Right?

>> Skylar (23:00):
Yes. Yep. Into the doc. Yep.

>> Cameron (23:01):
Hold. Into the dock. Does, runs to the edge
of the dock. And he throws down, like
a sack or something in front of him. Like he's gonna
panhandle. Right.

>> Skylar (23:11):
Okay.

>> Cameron (23:12):
And as a distraction.

>> Skylar (23:15):
Okay.

>> Cameron (23:15):
He recites a story that is just, like, in his
brain.

>> Skylar (23:19):
He's just coming up with it.

>> Cameron (23:20):
Coming up with it somehow. These words
are coming out of him. He's not quite sure where he heard it.
but it goes in the mamalade forest,
past the make believe trees in a
cottage Cheese Cottage lived Albby.
Yes. Albby Albi, the
racist Dragonborn. And he.
Daggers. Daggers at the Dragonborn getting off the

(23:42):
boat. and so this is an opportunity for them to be
distracted.

>> Skylar (23:46):
Yes.

>> Cameron (23:46):
so that things can be stolen.

>> Skylar (23:49):
I like that. Oh, yeah, that
Dragonborn. He glares back at you and he kind of
walks over and he says.
What'S that supposed to mean?

>> Cameron (23:59):
Des backs up and does the fisticuffs. but
continues the story y while it.
I do want to point out that was the first time Des spoke without
his soundboard.

>> Skylar (24:08):
That's true.

>> Cameron (24:09):
Yeah.

>> Skylar (24:11):
He could have used it, but we would have gotten slapped with
a nasty copyright from theg.

>> Cameron (24:16):
I have the whole story.
Memory.

>> Skylar (24:19):
Yeah. Over at ah, the Flight of the Concorde.

>> Dave (24:23):
Maky steps in between you guys.
Welly, yeah. I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it,
sir.

>> Skylar (24:29):
And o is accusing
me of.

>> Dave (24:33):
And as he's, like, putting his hand against
the dragon porn chest, he
drops it, pat on the shoulder with his
other hand.

>> Cameron (24:43):
It's.

>> Dave (24:44):
I'm sure this is just a, ah, misunderstanding.
A cultural difference.

>> Skylar (24:49):
Get two filthy reg off of
me.
Bir Bo. And he
swats at you with his.

>> Cameron (24:56):
Arm and trying to pry dragon tears, which, as we all know,
turn into jelly beans.

>> Skylar (25:00):
My tears. I'm not crying.
And they do not turn into jelly
beans.
I don't know. He's hold Hogan now.

>> Dave (25:09):
As Makia was patting him with his other hand.
As his left hand drops down
and tries to take
the sash off of his belt.

>> Skylar (25:19):
All right, the coin sa. You, you are
being helped at the moment, so you can take advantage
on that.
Wowzers.
Sne reach for that.
Yes.

>> Dave (25:32):
That's a 21W.

>> Cameron (25:34):
That wasn't even with the advantage.
Oh, yeah, not even with.

>> Quinn (25:37):
Hang on.

>> Cameron (25:38):
Like it get better.
Totally could only roll one number better.

>> Skylar (25:43):
as he sort of flings you away, he swats at you
with his arm, kind of knocks you back a little bit. You use your
back, claw to kind of latch onto that
little sash that's laying there and all. He
considers you as is knocked away, but he doesn't realize that
you've swiped his little sack of
coins right out from off his belt.

(26:03):
And then he turns back to Des.
And he says, oh, you got more to say about
my proud race?
I think you're the racist one.

>> Cameron (26:14):
Des picks up his sack, jumps in the air, clicks his heels
and runs away.

>> Skylar (26:19):
That's the right. And I don't wantna see you in.

>> Dave (26:22):
My districts again, O. I'm getting out
of here. And maki pushes up against the couple
that's exiting the boat.

>> Skylar (26:31):
Oh, geeez. Oh, gosh.

>> Dave (26:34):
licking his beacon anticipation of
thisging, dear. This bulging wallet.

>> Skylar (26:40):
He's coming to us, Matthew. Oh, dear,
what now?

>> Dave (26:44):
I'm not traveling.

>> Skylar (26:47):
I know. Coming towards them. They're obviously
racist, too, so.

>> Cameron (26:52):
Obviously.

>> Skylar (26:53):
Oh, he probably has fleas. Help, Matthew. And he's
like, oh. And he looks just as concerned. He's like, o
I don't want to.

>> Dave (26:59):
Get fle on me
out. He's gonna kill me's. Get out of the
way.

>> Skylar (27:05):
No, please.
you're trying to. Are you trying to steal for one of them? Are
both of us?

>> Dave (27:11):
Y the guy?

>> Skylar (27:13):
Okay, all right. So this is just gonna be straight, sleight
of hand on this guy.

>> Cameron (27:23):
What'd you rol?

>> Dave (27:24):
11.

>> Skylar (27:25):
Oh, gosh.
he. He sees that you're reaching towards him. He doesn't
know necessarily that you're reaching for his wallet, but it's just the
bo he's bothered by the fact that you're going to touch him at all.
And he goes, no, no, stop, please. Oh,
gosh, please.
And, he swats at you, and he kind of bumps
you a little bit, and you're pretty close to the edge of the dock, and you start
to lean ever so slightly towards the water.

(27:48):
You want to do a see Dexterity
save.

>> Dave (27:53):
Okay, I'm gonna try to do a dexterity save to
jump to the shore.

>> Cameron (27:57):
W. Wow, impressive.
Just skip the whole dock.

>> Skylar (28:01):
Yeah.

>> Cameron (28:02):
Who needs it?

>> Dave (28:03):
Well, you know, or to the dock, whatever.

>> Skylar (28:05):
More. Well, you're hanging off the dock so.
You could jump it off the boat.
Just off the edge of the shore.

>> Dave (28:14):
Dek saving 16.

>> Skylar (28:16):
16. Okay. You ge nly only getting,
like, the backs of your heels wet in the water as
you leap towards the edge of the shore and land
with a slight splash. Just a slight
splash. Hurry, marry. We must get
away. These filthy creatures are
going to get.
Fleas all over us.
we'll never be able to clean them out. And they rush off

(28:37):
into the city.

>> Dave (28:38):
Hey, these talons are good for something, I guess,
because they me to grip.

>> Cameron (28:43):
Roick'snna lean over to keto.

>> Skylar (28:45):
Sorry, lo so, yeah.

>> Cameron (28:47):
And he goes. I never knew maiad fleas.
Can I make a perception roll to see if I've
watched maki pick these people's pockets?

>> Skylar (28:57):
If you want to. Sure.

>> Cameron (29:02):
12.

>> Skylar (29:03):
12. probably not. I don't think you would have seen
it both times.

>> Cameron (29:09):
onlyful the one that's true.
made two attempts.

>> Skylar (29:12):
I think on the second try, you think maybe he
was going for it, but you're not 100% sure? Because it's pretty close to honestly.

>> Cameron (29:18):
What I'm only asking because, Roke hasn't
even considered the thought of pickpocketting to make
money. But if he sees
Macki doing it. That's what I'm saying. If he
sees Maci doing it, then the idea would strike his mind and
now he'd be thinking about nothing but
pickpocketeah.
You know what that would be? Just now

(29:39):
that we have this ball rolling whenever we're walking
through city streets, immediately just roll
for it.

>> Skylar (29:47):
Can just like Assassin's Creed.

>> Cameron (29:50):
One guy there.
Well, I'm gonna see him trying to like, pick that second
person's pa, but it was very clumsy. So he missed the first
one, but he sees a bad attempt at a second one.

>> Skylar (30:00):
Sure.

>> Cameron (30:00):
So Roark'like M wonder if I can just do better than that.
And so he just kind of, takes
his hand and he just tohes
the gu.

>> Skylar (30:10):
Throws.

>> Cameron (30:10):
He just throws his hand. And as he flicks his hand forward,
a second hand flies out of his hand. And it's
a mage hand.

>> Skylar (30:17):
Yes.

>> Cameron (30:17):
And it chases down the man. But while it does,
it goes invisible.

>> Skylar (30:22):
Yes.

>> Cameron (30:22):
And it's going to pick his pocket.

>> Skylar (30:24):
All right, do a sleight of hand. Check.

>> Cameron (30:29):
17. 17 with an invisible
hand.

>> Skylar (30:32):
Oh, no, he got
a 19.

>> Cameron (30:36):
Oh.

>> Skylar (30:49):
He goes u. Oh, Mary.
Mary, it's touching my bum.
It's touching my bum.
Mary.

>> Cameron (30:55):
But he has no idea what is.

>> Skylar (30:57):
And they don't know what it is. They're too scared to even
look behind him. And they just start sprinting even
faster. We're gonna
have to bleach these geneans.

>> Cameron (31:06):
I'm sexually assaulted by a
ghost.
The hands gonn start snapping and chasing.

>> Skylar (31:16):
It hits like a 30 foot.

>> Cameron (31:18):
It'orides back to.
Yeah, it's 30.

>> Skylar (31:21):
I'm pretty sure it's 30. whatever the case, Mai,
you check this wallet and you find 83
gold inside.

>> Dave (31:29):
Did he have very nice. Any sort of passes
like unlimited pasta or.
That's fery ride.

>> Skylar (31:37):
There was a ferry pass in there. this is obviously
a trip that he makes fairly regularly. So he
buys the month pass. let's say it's like
halfway through the month. So you've got a half a month left on this
pass. What it's worth?

>> Dave (31:51):
That's like 30.

>> Cameron (31:53):
Go.

>> Quinn (31:55):
Sell it on the black market.

>> Skylar (31:57):
they do like, ah, they do like a discount if you do the full month
pass it's like 25 just.
Just for anyone that wasnna be curious later or for
my reference now I.

>> Cameron (32:06):
Know what to use my money.

>> Skylar (32:08):
Yeah. So many passes. Yeah.

>> Cameron (32:11):
Why get out of this world when you can buy with that with these
bargains around.

>> Quinn (32:15):
But what time about what time is it now? After this?

>> Skylar (32:17):
Yeah. Yeah. So it'd probably be about 8:30
say.

>> Quinn (32:21):
So I say there. I think we should head over to
Gideon's gizmos.

>> Cameron (32:25):
It's just two of us.

>> Quinn (32:26):
Is it just two of us?

>> Cameron (32:27):
Where the those two ran off?

>> Quinn (32:29):
Oh, they're still going.

>> Skylar (32:30):
I don'think they ran off. They were we still.

>> Cameron (32:31):
That's no, I'm just me
and Ko.

>> Skylar (32:35):
I'm pretty sure you all are like within range of the dock. I think
Mai is kind of on the edge of the water right off the
dock.

>> Cameron (32:42):
He scampered off. Does scampered
off.
I did the little heel click and ran away.

>> Skylar (32:47):
Oh yeah, that's right.

>> Cameron (32:47):
That right.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (32:49):
Yeah. Disappeared into a crowd of people.

>> Skylar (32:52):
Yeah.

>> Cameron (32:53):
I'll just return.

>> Skylar (32:53):
That's all right.

>> Dave (32:54):
I. We'll just just. Hey, who's got that rock?

>> Quinn (32:57):
I have rock.

>> Dave (32:59):
Can I see it?

>> Cameron (33:00):
Yeah. We haven't. We haven't asked our question today, have
we?

>> Quinn (33:04):
I was gonna use it to.

>> Skylar (33:06):
No, no, I think you did.

>> Quinn (33:08):
No. Yeah, we have. It's not a new day. It's still the sameu I
asked cuz I was gonna use it to ask where.

>> Skylar (33:14):
Yes.

>> Quinn (33:16):
all right. So I hand the rock over because.

>> Dave (33:18):
I can't really I take a toss
it across this alleall oh,
just like away from us.

>> Skylar (33:25):
So I go clink, clink, clink, clink across the the
stone and gravel.

>> Dave (33:29):
Wa and I hold a feather
back with my winged arm.
Wait for it. It does.

>> Skylar (33:38):
And sure enough, after a moment goes by,
this light emanates from the skyai beam
straight down onto the rock.

>> Dave (33:47):
I ve lit the beacon.

>> Skylar (33:51):
And as you watch, a
multitude of small insects starts
to form around this bright light.

>> Dave (33:59):
Wait, they can see it?

>> Cameron (34:01):
Only we could see it apparently.

>> Skylar (34:04):
You in bugs.

>> Cameron (34:05):
Oh, I just wrote that into
that's interesting.
How do we use this for ourselves? We can just make bugs
appear out of nowhere.

>> Skylar (34:15):
the help that will and everyone.

>> Cameron (34:17):
Be like why are all these bugs right here? There's no reason
these trick I can.

>> Skylar (34:22):
Make bugs w wow.

>> Dave (34:24):
The bug are attracted to that beacon.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (34:26):
Are those those fleas that were crawling all over you?

>> Skylar (34:29):
Yeah, it's the fleas. They've go for
you.

>> Dave (34:36):
hopefully decks or Des will see
the.

>> Cameron (34:42):
Yeah.

>> Skylar (34:43):
Oh, yeah.

>> Cameron (34:44):
He's gonna. It's gonna spot him on top of a roof
nearby.
Assassin.
Creo.

>> Skylar (34:55):
Where did I.
Gets into a
haystack. You hear an eagle for
some reason. It's just me it.
All right, so you guys are together. What were you, gonna say to him?
Little sauce?

>> Quinn (35:10):
just. I think we should, head to Gideon gizmos. It's getting
late and he'll have some more information
for us. Try and find mygriddle.
I can go over and I'm gonna bat all the
bugs away. I pick up the rock and I just
shake my head and put it back in my pocket.

>> Skylar (35:27):
Feather.

>> Dave (35:28):
can see the beacon.

>> Quinn (35:29):
K. Yeah.

>> Skylar (35:30):
Yes.

>> Dave (35:30):
Because yeah, he found sort of he frown rock
earlier.

>> Skylar (35:34):
Right? Right. He's kind of been given.

>> Cameron (35:35):
He's been given power.

>> Skylar (35:37):
Power.

>> Dave (35:37):
Yeah.

>> Skylar (35:38):
Like revel.

>> Cameron (35:39):
Sentience.
It's more just sentience.
Apparently bugs are sentient in this world.

>> Skylar (35:46):
Who knows what else.

>> Cameron (35:50):
Okay, that was not the booice.

>> Skylar (35:53):
Okay, you
lead your friends over to the Shoot. I forget what it
was called. I'm pretty sure it was like the trinket square. I'm
pretty sure is what it's called. Yes. Trinket square. You
lead them over to trinket square and you guys are easily able to
see the old warn sign over
Gideon's gizmos.

>> Cameron (36:12):
while we're heading there, do we pass people?

>> Skylar (36:14):
Oh, absolutely.

>> Cameron (36:15):
Oh, yeah. I'm gonna start picking their pockets. My invisible mage hand
Allgh ro.

>> Skylar (36:19):
Let's just do three.

>> Cameron (36:21):
Okay.
I'm aiming for richer looking people.

>> Skylar (36:26):
Sure.

>> Cameron (36:28):
14, 21 and
27.

>> Skylar (36:32):
Okay. I'm gon toa call two of those a success.
106 coins
alghty.

>> Cameron (36:46):
That's justa for the rest of campaign.
Wait, you only need to do that, what, a thousand more
times.
And this is just passive income for me at this
point.
Des would like to do the same.
But wait, but this can't see
ro doing this. So desm try to do polulls

(37:06):
from the same person because I'm doing it invisibly.

>> Dave (37:09):
But he's aiming for rich people.

>> Skylar (37:14):
Go poor people.
three. sleight of hands.

>> Cameron (37:24):
You bet. I, won't
use my mag chan. Although my mag hand would be very funny
because it's just a bunch of bugs.
It's actually the twig.
Yeah'definitely ch pickpockets.
it can lift something that is.
Under I have from l from
the arane tricker that adds the let's

(37:46):
see. Ability to pickpockets with it. It says you can
use the hand to manipulate an object. Open a un lock door or
container ste or retrieve an item from an open
container, pour the contents out of a vial.
Technically a pocket is an open
container.
That's if it's straight out of a pocket.
You would have to like be out of the. And

(38:07):
there's just a hand be behind them just pulling out money.

>> Skylar (38:10):
I'll give you one sl of him.

>> Cameron (38:12):
One sl.
Then they would just see a hand just floating away with.
So right. You'll give me one slide of hand. I will use my
mag chain because that's funny. It's just a bunch of little twig
sprites. Yeah, I'm in this one.

>> Skylar (38:24):
Guyping be
noticed.

>> Cameron (38:28):
Oh no, they don't care. They're just climbing this guy O they.

>> Skylar (38:30):
Just taking his wallet. They take like a
coin each and they just go. The.

>> Cameron (38:37):
Slight of hand though, it's probably pretty good.

>> Skylar (38:40):
O.

>> Cameron (38:40):
It's a. It's a five.

>> Skylar (38:43):
It's a total mark.

>> Cameron (38:44):
Total of five.

>> Skylar (38:45):
So your twig sprites like you send them. Your little
swarm hand reaches out and they sort of kind of emanate from
it. Are they like are they like Fae creatures?

>> Cameron (38:53):
Yeah, kinda.

>> Skylar (38:54):
So they kind of spawn out of you. They like come out of your
sleeve like some kind of. I don't know. Naruto.

>> Cameron (38:59):
I like to imagine that they look like.

>> Skylar (39:02):
I was gonna say I'm pretty sure that is.

>> Cameron (39:04):
I like to imagine that they. They look
like the cinnamon stick guy from the old Apple
Jack.
Just thousands of themstari
m
dreadlocks.

>> Skylar (39:23):
They're all running across street. They just have like really high
pitch Jamaican accent.

>> Cameron (39:30):
No wonder they got. No wonder they got
caught.

>> Skylar (39:35):
they re all like scrambling on top of each other as they climb up this
dude's leg. He notices as his leg starts to
suddenly weigh a lot
morehsh.
And he's just panicking, trying to like swat him off of his body
and then. Then he goes sprinting off.

>> Cameron (39:51):
Darn.

>> Skylar (39:51):
In fear.

>> Cameron (39:52):
Wonder what his problem is.

>> Skylar (39:55):
It's not a dream this time.

>> Cameron (40:01):
I wonder if he saw the puppet as
he disappears.

>> Skylar (40:05):
off into the distance. You guys round a corner and you
find yourselves opened up into Trinket
Square. A series of stores in sort of a
wide square, radius with a
big open square in the middle in a fountain in the middle
of that. That has just a strange kind of
abstract piece of art. it's sort of like a
series of Gears and just

(40:27):
obscure pieces that all move and spin and whatnot. And
that's what allows the water to kind of shoot out of the top of it.
you're not really sure what it's supposed to be. but it's a series
of odd trinkets kind of all put together into one big
trinket gadget that moves this water. A
poountain. whatever the case, you guys see
Gideon's, gadgets,
and Feather McGregor leads you there and

(40:50):
opens up the door. it is still open. The
light is still on on the outside of lantern
has not been blown out. So you guys let yourselves inside,
and the rest of you are all greeted by what is
Gideon's trinkets. a series of shelves
all crammed full of various odd
trinkets, metal gizmos and gadgets. Some of it's a
assembled, some of them not. everything from

(41:13):
little clockwork dolls and puppets to
pocket watches hanging from, racks
to mechanical jewelry pieces. Puzzle
boxes wind up toys, music boxes,
small automaton pets. Des, I think you
probably get a little bit of a twitch seeing all of these, what would
technically be constructs. even though they're small,
they're toys. They're not like full automatons

(41:35):
per se, or anything like that. They're not human sized. But I
think there's probably something in you that's probably like, oh,
yeah, these
things.

>> Cameron (41:44):
for Des, he begins to feel very
warm upon entering the room. It's like,
uncomfortably warm in here.

>> Skylar (41:51):
Okay.

>> Cameron (41:52):
He's pulling at a non existent shirt collar.

>> Skylar (41:56):
Awesome. you can hear somebody. It sounds like probably
working in the back of the shop
once again.

>> Quinn (42:03):
Get in.

>> Skylar (42:04):
Get in. Giddy on up here.

>> Quinn (42:08):
Gy on up here.

>> Skylar (42:12):
You might be here to rob me, but I never heard that one before. So I'll come
on out. Oh, hey, it's Feather
McGregor with it. Oh, you got a whole band of friends
here are all these.

>> Quinn (42:23):
We're here to. We're here to find McGriddle.

>> Skylar (42:26):
Oh.
Oh, fantastic. U
Cool.

>> Quinn (42:30):
But they only agreed to do it for the
gold. 50.

>> Skylar (42:34):
Understand? And of course, if you find the kids, you can return
those for an additional, rewards, since that's what you're all
about.

>> Quinn (42:41):
How many kids are missing? Oh, since
the last time we spoke earlier today. Any. Any more
disappearances.

>> Skylar (42:47):
If I'm being completely honest with you, the people in the
area are so upset. I have not left this
store in quite some time. Probably the last couple of
weeks. Last, I heard it's
probably about a dozen kids.

>> Quinn (43:00):
Says this morning.

>> Skylar (43:01):
Oh, no, no, no.
In total.
Total.
That's last I heard, though.

>> Quinn (43:05):
I mean, this still pretty bad.

>> Skylar (43:07):
Oh, yeah, it's definitely pretty bad. I'm gonna
give McGriddle the spinking of his
life when we find him and you bring him back.

>> Quinn (43:15):
Any. Any. Any more leads on where he might be?

>> Skylar (43:18):
Oh, nothing since the last time I I remember how I told you you should
talked to those people here in town. Might be a little bit late for
that, but u I feel like they'd be your best bet.

>> Quinn (43:27):
When have the disappearance has been happening again? What time of
day?

>> Skylar (43:30):
U usually during the well cut em mix.
Honestly. U yeah, some of them during
the day, some of them m at night,
sort of late afternoon. About when
kids would be sent to bed by their parents.
Like I said, I haven't been out much, so I don't know a whole lot of the
g details.

>> Quinn (43:52):
Well, we're here to help. Do you have any gizmos that, might
help us?

>> Skylar (43:57):
It's not really what I do
M My stuff is dolls, toys. I don't make weapons.

>> Cameron (44:03):
He doesn't make useful training.

>> Quinn (44:05):
Yeah, but she got you got. You got gadgets and
trinkets, Anything that might help us.

>> Skylar (44:11):
I'm gonna be honest with you. Not really. I haven't had.
Had the same inspiration I had
since McGriddle died,
unfortunately.

>> Quinn (44:22):
And you haven't worked on any more of these dolls or anything like
that?

>> Skylar (44:25):
Well, I mean. I mean, dolls aore
o life saying bring it. No, I don't have anyone else
to bring back to life. Who else would I bring back?
Wife?
We already talked about this, and I have no
interest.

>> Quinn (44:42):
All right, well, anybody have any questions.

>> Skylar (44:45):
You want me to let you know who might be able to help you?

>> Quinn (44:49):
If you got any leads, we'll take them.

>> Skylar (44:51):
All right, well, let's see here. M, you
could talk to the victim's parents. That'd be an
awkward conversation, but I feel like maybe they could give you some more
detail. there's the guards in the area. They know a
lot about the crimes, so they obviously know a lot about the
disappearances and the, you know, situations
and scenarios surrounding them. U, let's see. A
lion. Oh, a lion. The street ed. Now, that kid gets

(45:13):
around. He knows all the gossip around town.
He knows just about everything. And he's also one of the few kids that hasn't
been taken, which is u maybe a
little suspicious. I don't know. let's See,
the shop owners, most of them are probably parents, so the
kids disappeared. So let's kind of a double up on there.
let's see. Oh, sister Serena.

(45:33):
She's the one that stops by every once in a while and checks in on me,
make sure everything's okay. She's been talking about having some weird
dreams and more like nightmares.

>> Cameron (45:42):
I don't know.

>> Skylar (45:43):
You know, spiritual types. They always seem to know a little something. Something
about the weird, supernatural things going on in tower. So
she might have some ideas.

>> Cameron (45:50):
Like a demon? A man summoned?

>> Skylar (45:53):
Let's hope not.

>> Cameron (45:54):
Des looks at you with a quizzical face.
That's what we're finding, right? A demon.

>> Skylar (46:02):
Who said the d word?

>> Cameron (46:04):
You said you summoned him, right?

>> Skylar (46:06):
Oh, yes, my son.

>> Cameron (46:08):
Isn't that, like, what you do
when you summon something? Summon a demon?

>> Skylar (46:14):
No. You try not to. You really just summon the
soul that you're going for. And that's what I
did.

>> Cameron (46:21):
Did McGrtel steal kids in the past?

>> Skylar (46:24):
not as far as I knew. Steal k in
the back of the day?
No.

>> Quinn (46:29):
see, I didn't want to bring it up earlier, but since he
went it ahead and was blunt about it. Are we sure it's
McGriddle?

>> Cameron (46:35):
It's not sure.

>> Skylar (46:37):
It's McGrntle.

>> Quinn (46:39):
TheGriddle wouldn't steal children
all.

>> Skylar (46:43):
Here's how. Work the thing, the
spell, whatever. The ritual I did. So, it
brought back a soul, and you had to have things
from that soul's past. You used them as part of the
ritual.

>> Quinn (46:55):
What things did you use?

>> Skylar (46:57):
Oh, you know, his old crossbow that
he used over at blink space U. his
favorite doll that I made him as a kid. Little bump?mp
bump to billin. Bump to bin. Gosh, how.
I don't know why he gave him such a name. Bump to bin.

>> Quinn (47:11):
Hang on. Hang on. Him. But didn't you make a replica bump
toin for the other troubled neighborhood kids?

>> Skylar (47:16):
Sure, but I didn't give them the original.

>> Quinn (47:19):
Are you sure this is the original?

>> Skylar (47:21):
I'm dange sure.

>> Quinn (47:22):
How. How do you know?

>> Skylar (47:24):
I haven't really touched a whole lot from McGriddle's old
room. And that was one of the things in there.

>> Quinn (47:29):
McGriddle used to like to loan him
out so that his friends could feel safe at night when
they're having bad days.

>> Skylar (47:36):
Okay, but here's the thing. Here's the thing. This
thing, when it animated or
the soul came through or whatever, what you want to call it? it
was out For a couple of days, like on, you know, it was kind of
unresponsive for the most part. I put it in
McGriddle's room because I was confident I did it right.
And it was McGriddle.
And, you know, that's where he stayed. So I put him in mygriddle's room.

(47:57):
And then over the course of a couple of days, that's when he finally came
out of the room. And he seemed like he was getting better. You know,
this is kind of a process to
get used to the body that you're inside of, I
assume. and he came out and
he knew all sorts of things that McGriddle.
Only McGriddor would have known.
I. I don't see how it possibly could have been anyone other

(48:17):
than McGriddle.
Any.
Any other questions? What else do you need? What else do
you need?

>> Cameron (48:25):
I'm measuring things around the room.

>> Skylar (48:27):
Okay. Okay.

>> Cameron (48:29):
What are you measuring with?
My hand.

>> Skylar (48:32):
Oh, okay.

>> Cameron (48:33):
Stick my hand up. Next up. Like wooden objects.

>> Skylar (48:35):
Sure.

>> Dave (48:36):
Old carpenter'trick that's right.

>> Cameron (48:37):
I'm just measuring stuff.

>> Skylar (48:39):
Yes. I had a teacher back in college. He's a
theater professor. And that's. Yeah, he talked about like, using
your parts of your body to measure different things.
Sure.

>> Dave (48:48):
Yeah.

>> Cameron (48:49):
And he's measuring stuff. And he's definitely not doing this just
to find out how many things he could stuff into a sack without
becoming.

>> Skylar (48:57):
I will say. And this is.

>> Cameron (48:58):
He's not taking any.

>> Skylar (49:00):
No, no, no.

>> Cameron (49:01):
While this is just happening, he's just randomly putting his hand
up next to stuff.

>> Skylar (49:05):
Okay.

>> Quinn (49:06):
Looking at.

>> Cameron (49:06):
Going, just keep putting.
Nextff.
Des takes a piece of paper and he writes
out, can you show us where the
ritual took place?

>> Skylar (49:16):
Oh, the. Can you show
me? Certainly. Yes. Actually
was in mygrirdle's room. I had to use a place that was familiar
to him in order to do it. Yeah, sure. I'll show
you.
So he leads you guys upstairs to the room, and
inside he opens up the door and you can see on
the floor There's a small 4

(49:37):
by 4ft. There's a little clearing section of the room.
And that's where sort of this almost pentagram
esque looking circle with a star inside
shape sort of thing is sitting there. the candles have since been
removed that he mentioned using in the
ritual. there is a little bin that's
inside that has some ashes inside of it. And he's
like, o.

(49:57):
You have to y. To use the things that I used
in the ritual. you had to. You had to burn them? it's kind of
part of the whole thing. Fire. I don't know, whatever
else. but we had to use those. and
that's. That's what the aions. Otherwise, everything's pretty
intact.
The bed'a little bit messy. You wonder if maybe he hasn't made it
since whenever. The last time the griddle was here

(50:18):
and then left.

>> Cameron (50:19):
Are there any. Did he use any runes
in the ritual? Would I know that?

>> Skylar (50:25):
That's a good question. I think he probably would have used some
sort of magical energy source or
components or something like that, for sure. but you wonder if
either they would have been consumed as part of the ritual
and maybe that was part of within the ashes or if
they've kind of been, de. Energized or
spent or whatever the case, he probably talks about
that. Got you.

>> Quinn (50:46):
Ty Roll, like intelligence or
wisdom.

>> Skylar (50:50):
What are you looking for?

>> Quinn (50:51):
Just looking at the things he says he used for the
ritual.

>> Skylar (50:55):
Sure, sure.

>> Quinn (50:55):
See if I can spot where. Because obviously something is gone
wrong. Or this just doesn't work in general.
But I'm assuming something probably went wrong with this.
Okay, so is there a way.
Which one would I roll for?

>> Skylar (51:08):
If you wanted to see if the ritual was done
incorrectly, I would say, as a wizard,
you are in a unique position to probably do an
arcana check.

>> Quinn (51:19):
Okay. That
onee, six
oay well within.

>> Skylar (51:26):
Your magical prowess that you've kind
of developed over time. You have not seen that
you've heard of the dark side of magic. You know, some of the
more questionable stuff, some of the, you know, bring back
the dead or summon things that you
shouldn't bring into this plane or whatever the case. You heard
about that stuff, but you've never seen it yourself, so you're not really sure.

(51:47):
A whole lot of frame of reference. It definitely gives you the spooks,
though.

>> Cameron (51:50):
Dark side of the Magic is a good album by that, one
band, Orange Floyd.

>> Skylar (51:54):
Oh, is it really? No. Oh, okay. Does pretty.

>> Cameron (51:57):
It sounds pretty sick, that Pink Floyd.

>> Skylar (51:59):
Dark side.

>> Dave (52:02):
Alrigh Gideyon. I. To be honest, I was
a little too excited there before. I
wasn't taking in what you said
about your ritual. Now, where did. Where did you get
this ritual?

>> Skylar (52:14):
Oh, it's in a book.

>> Dave (52:17):
what kind of book?

>> Skylar (52:18):
Well, this book right here.
Ah.

>> Cameron (52:19):
it's called a Necronomica.

>> Skylar (52:22):
I was demon. It was demon.
I.

>> Cameron (52:25):
It.

>> Skylar (52:26):
I was told it was bound in the human
skin.
No, it seems like a fairly normal book
for the Most part.

>> Dave (52:36):
Mind if I take a closer look at that?

>> Skylar (52:38):
O. Sure. Like I said, I'm not bringing anybody
else back, so I don't really need it. I mean, I'm not
saying I'm giving it to you, but feel free to take a look.

>> Dave (52:48):
yeah. Maki takes a look at this book.

>> Skylar (52:50):
Ah. All right. So it definitely seems to be an
old book. And it is filled with a variety
of dark rituals, some of which
you can kind of understand. Some of them are very complex,
and kind of hard to, you know, make sense of,
or read or whatever the case. inside
the COVID But what was.

>> Dave (53:09):
What did you say? What did he do with the ritual? He had
objects.

>> Skylar (53:12):
Oh.

>> Dave (53:13):
Arrange a cirle.

>> Skylar (53:14):
Yes. So the objects.

>> Dave (53:16):
I was actually reading something, but I just realized
that I only get to pick two of these meta magic
abilities.

>> Skylar (53:24):
Gotcha. so basically, the way that the ritual.
As you find the ritual, he points it out to you in the book. the
way that the ritual works is
there's the points of this, the exterior points of the
star, and those exterior points, you put a
candle at the end of each one on the interior points of
the star. You have to. But some sort of object that the

(53:44):
soul is familiar with. And that's
how you are able to
used a crossbow. one of the items he used was a
crossbow. Yes, it was. Was more
of a light crossbow, similar to the one that
feather McGregor would have had prior to him quitting.
So his boss made him turn that in duty cross.
Yes, exactly.

>> Dave (54:07):
Let. Looks like a star pattern ritual.
I've seen a few of those.

>> Quinn (54:13):
Well, Gideon,
we can go out looking to night, or do you mind if we stay
here potentially for the night?

>> Skylar (54:20):
Oh, you're more than welcome to stay here for the night for me
too.

>> Quinn (54:23):
And we can get started in the morning or for these guys.

>> Skylar (54:26):
I think that's a great idea.

>> Dave (54:28):
I think maybe if I. This book may
possibly give us a clue by examine the
ritual on how to track this creature
down.

>> Quinn (54:37):
I'm gonn. I'm gonna. You can read the book.
I'll look around the room and we'll stay here tonight, see what we can
find. And then we start fresh in the morning.

>> Cameron (54:46):
Des would like to,
inspect the bed presuming that McGriddle slept
in the bed last time he was here.

>> Skylar (54:53):
Yeah.

>> Cameron (54:54):
And to see if he can,
gain some sort of like,
scent or acknowledgment
of the. I, guess
feeling that this construct gives him.

>> Skylar (55:07):
So it be to track. Okay.

>> Cameron (55:09):
Like a hound dog. I'm sniffing the bed.

>> Skylar (55:10):
So. Yeah, no,
definitely. is there. Does it say anything about, like,
a specific skill or is it just.

>> Cameron (55:17):
It says it's easier to track.

>> Skylar (55:18):
Okay, let's do, Let's do an investigation.

>> Cameron (55:21):
Sure.
I'm sure I'm good at that.

>> Skylar (55:26):
Or I guess perception would work as well. If that's more
something up his alley, bottom line, it should be something
that's.

>> Cameron (55:33):
Yeah, sure.
Okay. Sixteen flies.
Am I doing perception or
investigation?

>> Skylar (55:43):
whichever's. Whichever's higher.

>> Cameron (55:45):
Okay. 16 plus 3 is. And 19.

>> Skylar (55:47):
Okay. You notice some fibers,
and you notice a variety of colors.
You know, there's a pretty. He's got a wide color
palette.

>> Cameron (55:56):
Okay.

>> Skylar (55:57):
That he might be wearing. or maybe it's
part of his puppet body.

>> Cameron (56:02):
his multicolored coat.

>> Skylar (56:03):
Y course.

>> Cameron (56:03):
Yes'exactly we're biblical here.

>> Skylar (56:06):
Yes. And then. I don't know. I think at the same time,
you would also probably get a little bit of an idea looking at the
maybe imprint from the bed or maybe the way that some of the blankets
might be laid out, and then also referencing some of the stuff that
you see downstairs that Gideon's also
made in your head. You can kind of get a little bit of
an idea of what this puppet being might look like.

>> Cameron (56:27):
It would look like. Okay,
so he's multic colored.
And looks like
that. Okay.

>> Skylar (56:36):
Yeah. Kind of looks like, There was like a live action
Pinocchio way back in the day. It was kind of creepy.
All I remember was at the beginning of it, he steals a
cannoli, and he's got, like, cannoli all over his
face. He's got, like, whipped cream or whatever, and
it just was really eerie looking. I don't know what it was called,
though.

>> Cameron (56:54):
But there was a recent live action pe.

>> Skylar (56:56):
That's true. That's true.
The old was just. Just
creepy looking enough. But whatever
the case, I think that if you can find that, I think it'll give you
a good idea of, what I'm talking about.

>> Dave (57:11):
Maki wants to look at this
ritual, the specific one that brought.
Yeah. This griddle entity
back.

>> Skylar (57:21):
Sure. It's definitely. I mean, you flip through
the book in general, you can definitely. I tell that everything in this
book is definitely some kind of a dark magic. There's
everything from causing other people pain, like from
a distance, kind of like some weird voodoo kind of stuff,
to bringing back the dead in a variety of
different ways. You could bring back a recently dead body

(57:41):
as kind of a zombie Esque or
necromamantic spell? all the way
to bringing back more of the
souls of someone that you actually cared about. Darcidious.
encouragement style. You know, you could save
her to.
Oh man. Let's see. just some really like gross stuff

(58:02):
like o changing their or filling their food
with maggots or something. You know, just like real nasty
kind of witch e kind of stuff.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (58:10):
Where did you get this book? G in.

>> Skylar (58:12):
Oh, someone traded it to me if for a couple
of new gadgets I had.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (58:20):
Where did this transaction take place?

>> Skylar (58:22):
Here in my shop.
Not right here because obviously we're in thegriddle'room. But I was
downstairs in the shop and
a couple of fellows in some spooky
hooded situations came in. they
said they wanted to. Oh, what was it they wanted?
Is this some. Some of my dolls ##s
Nothing fancy about them or anything like that. And they said

(58:44):
they wanted to trade the book for those.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (58:48):
You keep a ledger? Like any names or anything
of these transactions?

>> Skylar (58:52):
Well, if it was a financial transaction then I'm
legally obligated to note it in my books.
But if it's more of a barter situation, they really
can't tax it so I don't keep track of it as much.
Why do you ask?

>> Fatty Lumpkins (59:06):
Just wondering if we would be able to back trace this
mysterious book.

>> Dave (59:11):
And we're with the
ir'sash
My badges.

>> Skylar (59:18):
Son's death
way on my Che.

>> Dave (59:28):
Maaki like flashes his. He's got like all.

>> Skylar (59:30):
Oh, he's actually doing this.

>> Dave (59:34):
That's more of a joke.
Yeah, we're with the King's tax
collectionision.

>> Skylar (59:40):
Oh.

>> Dave (59:43):
He'S got like all the badges he's collected
so they're not even tax collector
badges.

>> Quinn (59:49):
Gideon. Gideon Conn. He's kidding.

>> Skylar (59:52):
He's kidding.

>> Cameron (59:53):
Ktc.

>> Skylar (59:54):
Oh goodness.

>> Cameron (59:56):
King collectors. Nice.

>> Skylar (59:59):
We are with the ktc.

>> Cameron (01:00:01):
The ktc. That's what we need to start doing.

>> Dave (01:00:04):
But Maki does open up
his notebook and make note
Gideon behind on his.

>> Cameron (01:00:12):
Tax just in case.

>> Skylar (01:00:14):
You can use that before they
Gideon gets you guys set up with some various blankets and
sleeping bag esque things.

>> Cameron (01:00:22):
I don a question?

>> Skylar (01:00:23):
Yeah. Okay.

>> Cameron (01:00:24):
They all went upstairs.

>> Skylar (01:00:26):
Sure.

>> Cameron (01:00:26):
Gideon room. Right.

>> Skylar (01:00:27):
Yeah, I didn't Sure.

>> Cameron (01:00:29):
I was still downstairs put my hand on things.

>> Fatty Lumpkins (01:00:31):
Yep.

>> Cameron (01:00:33):
I was just buying time.

>> Skylar (01:00:34):
Okay.

>> Cameron (01:00:35):
Also I was looking to see where his safe was.

>> Skylar (01:00:39):
yeah, sure. Do an investigation.
Check.
Hooray.

>> Cameron (01:00:43):
Investigation. Well,
I suck at that. And actually I'm better at that.
1212.

>> Skylar (01:00:50):
Yeah, I don't think you find Anything.

>> Cameron (01:00:52):
this is a guy see anything of value,
like jewelry, you
honestly ge.

>> Skylar (01:00:59):
This place is rules. I mean, there's definitely the clockwork
jewelry, and some of those are inset with some
small gems. It's not much, though. It's more about the, like,
clockwork mechanics of it, which that none of itself might be
valuable. It just kind of depends. but whatever the case, you. Yeah,
I mean, you don't find anything that's like, direct money or any, like,
big gems or anything like that. Mostly. That would probably be

(01:01:20):
the most valuable stuff that catches your eye.

>> Cameron (01:01:22):
Boring. Okay,
well, I guess some blanket time.

>> Skylar (01:01:27):
Algh. So, yeah, he gets you guys all set up with
some sleeping arrangements, and you guys spend the night
over at Gideon McGriddle'house.
during the night, most of you sleep pretty well.
But Feather McGregor,
you being so close and reminded of so much
of your old friend, you experienced some
nightmares where you see flashbacks of

(01:01:50):
the events that led up to your
friend'death you see, obviously both of you joining
blank space, you're reliving this within your dream,
right? Reoining blank space,
being sent on this special secret
mission where you were going undercover to,
seek out an organization known

(01:02:10):
as the Legionnaires.
They are still exist, a group
of some fairly wealthy people, mostly
located in the Condale district, sort of a
gang of sorts. but they do have some
small factions in Gorthham, and that's where you guys were, right
here in McGregor's home district.

(01:02:32):
And you got in with some of their sort of like a
small faction or whatever, and you
got into a situation where they wanted
you to prove your loyalty to him, essentially.
And in order to do that, you had to
kill your friend. And
just as you are jabbing the knife into your

(01:02:52):
friend once again, you wake up,
you're sweating, you're a
bit startled, you're a bit out of sorts, and then you remember where you
are, you remember what's going on now, and
you're able to go back to slee. And the rest of your sleep
is fairly uneventful. And
with that'close out episode
11.
