>> Speaker A (00:44):
Whoa. What have we here?
>> Speaker B (00:47):
Hey, we're already behind schedule. Why did
you stop doing it?
>> Skylar (00:51):
I,
>> Speaker A (00:51):
I found something.
>> Speaker B (00:57):
What do you mean you found something? We've only got a
couple weeks left to clear this area where the boss man is gonna start
cutting our checks.
>> Speaker A (01:04):
I know, I know, but I just. I
saw something in the dirt and I figured I should check it
out. That's what the camp owner
guy said to do, right?
>> Speaker B (01:14):
No, you're right. But it better be good. We can't be
shutting down every time we see a shiny rock.
>> Speaker A (01:19):
You should u take a look at this.
>> Speaker B (01:21):
Well, now, this here is an interesting
find indeed.
>> Speaker A (01:25):
Do you have any idea what this is? Some
carved stick from a hundred years ago?
>> Speaker B (01:30):
Yeah, something like that. There's all sorts of
relics that were left behind by the native tribes and early
settlers scattered across this island. This here looks
like some kind of totem.
>> Speaker A (01:41):
Whoa. any idea how old it is? How much is
it worth?
>> Speaker B (01:45):
First of all, asking questions like that is going to get
us in trouble. The camp owner owns this land, and
therefore anything we find belongs to him. I
don't care how much it's worth. You try and keep
anything, we are both getting fired.
Secondly, I've been working in Construction for
23 years. How in the world would I know anything about
ancient Native American relics?
>> Speaker A (02:07):
Oh, right. Sorry.
>> Speaker B (02:08):
That's fine. I'm just warning you. Don't go pocketing
anything.
>> Speaker A (02:12):
Understood, sir.
>> Speaker B (02:13):
You know, this totem reminds me of the old legend
about what happened to the settlers that originally landed on this
island.
>> Speaker A (02:19):
A, legend?
>> Speaker B (02:20):
Yeah. You don't know about the lost colony of
Roanoke?
>> Cameron (02:24):
No, sir.
>> Speaker A (02:25):
Can't say I've ever heard of it.
>> Speaker B (02:26):
Didn't you listen in history class? This is a
famous American mystery. See,
a whole group of settlers, some of the first to stepp foot
on American shores, tried to settle here on this
island. But they didn't have enough supplies to last through the
winter. So their leader, a fellow named
John White, headed back to England to bring back the
(02:46):
necessary stocks the settlers would need. But he
got stuck. You see, it took him three years
before he was able to get back here. And when he did return,
the whole settlement was gone, Not a soul in
sight. All he found was the carving on a
wooden post that read, grow a toan.
>> Speaker A (03:03):
Whoa. what happened
to them?
>> Speaker B (03:07):
Well, if we knew for sure, it wouldn't be a
great American myiseery now, would it? With that being
said, there's lots of theories out there, like they died
of disease or just integrated with the local native
tribes. My theory revolves around them all
getting wiped out by a Wendigo.
>> Speaker A (03:23):
A wend what?
>> Speaker B (03:24):
A Wendigo. A horrible monster spawned
from a person who feasted on human flesh, who couldnt
shake the taste to the point any where it became an addiction.
Their insatiable hunger for more slowly changing them
into a horned monstrosity known as the
Wendigo that hunts the forest, seeking out lost
campers and hikers who strayed too far from their
(03:44):
path.
>> Speaker A (03:45):
Yikes.
>> Speaker B (03:46):
Yikes is right. But that's all myth and
legend. We need to get back to work.
I'll take this totem back to the camp with me. You keep
on digging. You find anything else, just set it
aside for the time being. But please try and
keep on schedule. Our job is to prep this land
for building, not running archaeological
expedition.
>> Speaker A (04:06):
Yes, sir.
U hello? Is
someone there?
Hello?
Hello? Hey, look, this is an
(04:28):
active construction zone. You're really not supposed
to.
>> Skylar (04:33):
No
(04:56):
M.
Welcome everybody to our special annual
Monster of the Week Halloween special. One shot.
That's a lot of title. But the key thing that you need to
know is that the title of this one
shot is Terror
at Camp Roanoke. Joining me
(05:17):
today for this very special one shot, we got
Cameron, who you probably all recognize from most of
our series. We've got Connor, who has been a
guest star on a couple of them and also
has been on Bender and Bru,
our original series as Brock Lee. And then
finally we have Fatty Lumpkins, who has
played Keto you'll recognize as Keto from
(05:40):
criminals Violet Numis. so welcome all
three of you to this very special again, Monster of the Week
One shot. Things are going to get spooky. Things are going toa get
scary. But before they can get spooky and scary,
we need to know what the stakes are. And by
that I mean who the heck your characters are that are about to get
haunted or otherwise
(06:00):
terrified by what I have planned.
So starting with Cameron, why
not tell me a little bit about your,
>> Cameron (06:08):
Hi, I'm Cameron.
>> Skylar (06:09):
Yes, you are. Cameron, tell me a little bit about your character. Who
are you playing? What does he look like?
>> Fatty Lumpkins (06:14):
give me.
>> Skylar (06:15):
Give me a brief description we get.
>> Cameron (06:16):
Do you have my reference sheet?
>> Skylar (06:18):
No, I. Well, yes, I do, probably. Yeah.
>> Cameron (06:21):
My form that I filled out.
>> Skylar (06:23):
No, I don't.
>> Cameron (06:24):
Dang it.
I sent you an eight page thing and then delete it on my
end.
>> Skylar (06:28):
As soon as I saw how many pages it was. I just kind of ignore.
Okay.
>> Cameron (06:32):
My guy's name is Martin fresh.
Fresh.
He is 37.
>> Skylar (06:37):
Okay.
>> Cameron (06:38):
He works at the local high school.
>> Skylar (06:40):
Okay.
>> Cameron (06:41):
He is the history teacher saying, the
form you filled.
>> Skylar (06:44):
Yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm looking right at it.
>> Cameron (06:46):
I'm trying to do it from memory right here.
>> Skylar (06:48):
Yeah, I've had. You meant like you sent me something
outside of this. Yes. Okay, so the high school he taught at
high school. What?
>> Cameron (06:55):
Yeah.
>> Skylar (06:56):
Just is currently. Yes, but it's summer.
>> Cameron (06:58):
It's summer. Which is why he's picked up this job. Right?
You ask that later.
>> Skylar (07:02):
Yeah, I was gonna say that's a question I asked later, but I mean, it's.
>> Cameron (07:05):
His reasoning is pretty simple.
>> Skylar (07:07):
Right.
>> Cameron (07:07):
He needs to pick up some extra work during the summer.
>> Skylar (07:10):
Sure.
>> Cameron (07:11):
So, yeah.
>> Skylar (07:11):
As teachers often do.
>> Cameron (07:12):
Yeah.
>> Speaker A (07:12):
And he's.
>> Cameron (07:13):
So he's going to work.
>> Skylar (07:13):
What does he look like?
>> Cameron (07:15):
Average. Like, think basic
white man. Basic white man with
a basic haircut and white
man haircut. Yeah. And
looks like he could blend into.
>> Skylar (07:28):
Any crowd as long as they were white.
>> Cameron (07:30):
Any crowd.
>> Skylar (07:31):
In a crowd. Wow. I don't know. I went to a family.
Okay.
>> Cameron (07:34):
New York crowd.
>> Skylar (07:35):
Okay.
>> Cameron (07:36):
not New York's. A little more variety. How
about we go with, like, Philadelphia?
>> Skylar (07:42):
You just say anything in the south, probably.
>> Cameron (07:44):
Oh, yeah. Dallas.
>> Skylar (07:45):
Yes. Okay. Fair.
>> Cameron (07:47):
He's in Dallas.
>> Skylar (07:48):
Okay, so, we.
>> Cameron (07:49):
Nowhere. Nowhere near Dallas. Massachusetts.
>> Skylar (07:52):
Okay. Okay.
>> Cameron (07:53):
So that's where we are, right?
>> Skylar (07:54):
no, you're in North Carolina, actually.
>> Cameron (07:56):
Oh, North Carolina works. That probably works really well there.
>> Skylar (07:59):
Yes, absolutely. so tell me about Martin
Fresh. What he yearns for, what he
is hoping to someday achieve, Whether or not that
relates to his job here at camp.
>> Cameron (08:10):
he has a master thesis
slash research book. He wants to write about the
Aztec empire.
>> Skylar (08:17):
Okay.
>> Cameron (08:18):
Don.
>> Skylar (08:18):
Don't we all. We all love writing about the
Aztecs. are there any specific
beliefs that he kind of holds to? Anything
that he, would be willing to fight for?
what's. What's sort of the deeper side of.
>> Cameron (08:33):
I 100% forgot what I wrote for this.
>> Skylar (08:36):
Youisa being fair and kind. He tries his best. Do the right
thing. He's very, like, neutral good. Kind
of. If we're talking on D and D terms, maybe even lawful good. For
the most part.
>> Cameron (08:45):
Yeah. That's probably the best way. Thiscrib.
>> Skylar (08:47):
He's just a good guy. Ye. Generally good guy, which is good.
As far as he's a teacher, he'd.
>> Cameron (08:52):
Be more neutral good than lawful good.
>> Skylar (08:54):
Yeah.
>> Cameron (08:55):
But he tries to do the right thing. When presented the
option, as far.
>> Skylar (08:58):
As social settings go, just so we can get an idea of Your
character going in, like, how does he tend to
react to being around other people?
Especially if the strangers.
>> Cameron (09:08):
Oh, he's very introverted. but like, if
you like sat down to him with him and talked with him,
he'd be actually really. He's not like the introvert
that can't hold a conversation. He's really good at
holding conversations. and he gets interested by
talking to people. It's just he's not good at starting them. So he just
doesn't. also, I forgot to mention, he has a wife.
>> Skylar (09:28):
Yeah. Ah.
>> Cameron (09:28):
And two kids.
>> Skylar (09:29):
Oh.
>> Cameron (09:30):
So.
>> Speaker A (09:30):
Man.
>> Skylar (09:31):
And the stakes just went up for my character.
>> Cameron (09:33):
Yes. But he's just going to a summer
camp where.
>> Skylar (09:37):
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Nothing happens. Yeah, Nothing.
>> Cameron (09:38):
All I wasnna say, he's just gonna have a good time, slice the life
and then just leave and go back home to his family.
>> Skylar (09:44):
That's right.
>> Cameron (09:44):
Yeah.
>> Skylar (09:45):
so with that being said, tell me a little bit about his stats
as far as from your character she perspective. Tell me a little bit about
Martin Fresh. What. What did he take as far as the
monster of the week stats? What equipment does he
have? What moves does he have? Yes, that's from the
basic one.
>> Cameron (10:00):
He has two charm, one cool, one
sharp, zero tough, and minus one weird.
>> Skylar (10:05):
Okay, he's not a very weird guy.
>> Cameron (10:07):
Which fair enough.
>> Skylar (10:07):
He's an average dude. Yeah. And he's a teacher he works
off of earlier.
>> Cameron (10:12):
Whoops, I did it wrong. I'm zero cool. Cuz he's
not cool either. He's a history teacher.
>> Skylar (10:17):
Oh, savage. Savage. All those history teachers out
there that.
>> Cameron (10:20):
Are listening and they went. It's tough, but true.
my moves are always the victim. Let's get out of here.
And what could go wrong?
>> Skylar (10:28):
Okay, nice.
>> Cameron (10:29):
And then my gear is. I have a golf club and
a pocket knife.
>> Skylar (10:33):
Okay.
>> Cameron (10:34):
And then I don't need my
car. I have a car, but I had to leave it at
the bust stay.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (10:40):
So station and drove him inside of the bus seation
camp.
>> Cameron (10:44):
So.
>> Skylar (10:44):
Okay, fantastic. well, who knows if that
car may come into play at the very end.
>> Cameron (10:50):
My 2018 Honda Civic.
>> Skylar (10:52):
Yeah, your 2018 Honda Civic. Not a sponsor. although
I don't know if it. Why would they sponsor us to talk about an
older model of their co. Just kind of a
liable if you had a do.
>> Cameron (11:02):
Very reliable.
>> Skylar (11:03):
Awesome. Beantastic. Okay, so that.
>> Cameron (11:05):
Wait, you told me that was the slogan for this thing. That's still the
reason I'm Dr. Is I. Ah, him.
>> Skylar (11:09):
Roan out. Sponsored.
Sponsored. Not sponsored.
>> Cameron (11:14):
Loosely. Sponsored by 2018.
Wish it was sponsored by Dale's's
ah used car
dealership specifically. Come get your
Honda Civics today.
>> Skylar (11:26):
You know, the fact that I used Carly dealership would push us
to explicitly talk about 2018 Honda Civics really kind
of suggests that he has a lot in inventory and that
kind of.
>> Cameron (11:35):
Put was expecting a bigger rush.
>> Skylar (11:39):
Whatever the case, let's jump over to Connor.
>> Speaker A (11:41):
Yeah.
>> Skylar (11:42):
Who is your character.
>> Cameron (11:44):
So he went through a bit of a change
just between the writing and the sitting
down because we had.
We had.
Well, he's not like a fully changes. Anyways.
We got a 20 something year old kid.
>> Skylar (12:00):
Okay. Goes by the name of Soapy Joe.
Soapy Joe. Is that his. His. His Christian.
>> Cameron (12:05):
Is that his Christian name or is that his.
>> Skylar (12:07):
That's his.
>> Cameron (12:08):
That's his stage name. The man is a. He's one of
those small time conspiracy youtubers.
>> Skylar (12:14):
Oh, very cool.
>> Cameron (12:15):
Got like 50k subs. He had
like one viral video.
>> Skylar (12:19):
It's honly prety.
>> Cameron (12:20):
Got like a good amount of following and then
it's just stopped at like 50.
>> Skylar (12:25):
I can't wait to hear about what. That, what that one big
viral lead. Yeah.
>> Cameron (12:29):
You got like one virus.
>> Skylar (12:30):
Sure it'll come up there.
>> Cameron (12:31):
I'm sure. Yeah, yeah, it was.
>> Skylar (12:32):
Sure it'll come. Yeah.
>> Cameron (12:33):
So he uploaded it to this YouTube channel
known as Soapy Joe. Just as like a.
Becausez. That's all he had at the time.
>> Skylar (12:41):
Right, right.
>> Cameron (12:41):
He was so. And then it went like mega viral. He
has those subscribers and now he's just kind
of. He's a conspiracy vlog type
guy.
>> Skylar (12:50):
He's okay.
>> Cameron (12:50):
He likes getting out there and going into the weird.
>> Skylar (12:53):
Yeah. Everybody's just waiting for the next viral video. So tell me a little
bit about what he looks like.
>> Cameron (12:59):
He looks like.
He looks like a guy that,
you know, there's kind of a specific look
that comes with guys who are super into conspiracy theories.
So he's got like the scraggly kind of beard.
He's got, you know, the, the baggy
clothes that maybe could stand to be washed. You
(13:19):
know, it's got the boots, the big baggy like
cargo pants. N. He's got like carts, some car, lots
of pockets.
>> Skylar (13:25):
Yeah, yeah.
>> Cameron (13:26):
I mean you got to carry all the microphones, the batteries.
>> Skylar (13:28):
I mean that's why I loved cargo pants back when I was in like high
ye.
>> Cameron (13:32):
and he's a, you know, he's like a bigger guy, maybe a
little bit of a huskier build, but you know, not,
not like huge by anyruct of the
imagination.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (13:41):
Fatty lumpkin.
>> Cameron (13:43):
Yeah, not like fatty lumpkin hus me know.
>> Skylar (13:46):
Fantastic. Awesome. So what are.
Why is he here at the cam? Why did
he choose to take this job?
>> Cameron (13:53):
Well he needed a little extra money because you know only
50k subs the on the youtubes doesn't really pay a lot.
That's o. Yeah. And he figured you know I could use my camera
skills. They needed some videography, some photography for the.
For the website of the grass of the campground.
>> Skylar (14:07):
So doesn't hit that point. Like he's getting a little bit of ad revenue
but he hasn't hit that point on YouTube where he's got sponsors reaching out to him
specifically.
>> Cameron (14:13):
Well, he's got sponsors but they're like. They're like really
niche, really small sponsors. Like
one you might hear of is a quantum bean. So it.
It's like a coffee brand for people who are really the conspiracy
theories.
But they're like. They're infused us like adrenaline
they're in.
>> Skylar (14:29):
They're like they're put in a bag.
>> Cameron (14:31):
They gott say of 400 hertz. It's like this
is calibrated 400 hertz. They're open
your third eye. They're like those kinds.
They're paying him like a hundred bucks so he could
probably stand to guess and I video per video.
He can. I mean so he's got my pump out videos.
>> Skylar (14:48):
Yeah.
>> Cameron (14:48):
Yeah. So he's like I'm a. I'm gonn go here and then like.
>> Skylar (14:51):
But you got to make sure it's good content.
>> Cameron (14:53):
Well he's gonna be at a camp.
>> Skylar (14:55):
Yeah.
>> Cameron (14:55):
You could just make up conspiracies about.
The camp that what he plans to do is like sneak out
at night and maybe like fil himself just like you know
those close up where kind of like mountain monsters that
show just.
How yah ever pointed up at him.
Like whoa, whoa, whoa. I think there
Sasquatch. Yeah, exactly like that. He just does that
five times a week and he just burs out money.
(15:16):
So that's basically what he is. He's like one of those bigfoot hunter.
Yeah.
>> Skylar (15:19):
Like so as far as like his kind of
personal beliefs that he holds close to or whatever
the case. Like what's kind of his
focus, what's he willing to fight for.
>> Cameron (15:31):
You know, whatever the case he needs views and clicks
and engagement. That's all he's. That's
all he's looking at. He's desperate.
Maybe's the next big hit because he got that hit of
virality and he's like, mmm, I just need that one
more time. Yeah, I just need it again, man.
>> Skylar (15:48):
Yeah, absolutely. so what made him sort of
take this job?
>> Cameron (15:53):
A need for money with which to buy goods and serv. Okay,
so it's pretty just straightfor like.
>> Skylar (15:57):
There'S no other, like, added.
>> Cameron (15:59):
I mean, he gets to use his camera. He gets that the outdoors.
He does enjoy the outdoors.
>> Skylar (16:03):
It is a pseudo, unsupervised job. That is kind of
nice.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (16:06):
Yeah.
>> Skylar (16:07):
So awesome.
>> Cameron (16:08):
Cool, cool, cool.
>> Skylar (16:09):
All right, well, we'll find out definitely more about
soi Joe, once things get started. But I want to
make sure that we touch on the last individual.
fatty lumpkins.
>> Speaker B (16:18):
Who are you playing?
>> Fatty Lumpkins (16:20):
Yeah, fatty here. And I will be playing greieve
Gershwin. Greie gershitz.
>> Skylar (16:27):
That's gonna be a.
>> Cameron (16:28):
Can we just call you gershh
Gersc.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (16:31):
I would prefer you call me grieve because, that
is more of an honor. Because if there's one thing you should know
about gree, it is that my idol is Steve
Irwin.
>> Skylar (16:40):
Steve.
>> Cameron (16:41):
Oh, you do an Australian accent.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (16:43):
Yes.
>> Cameron (16:44):
Yeah.
>> Skylar (16:44):
Well, yes, let's see.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (16:47):
But we're hearing it. It is ugly.
>> Skylar (16:49):
He'd started doing that every time he was doing his pharmacy
stuff.
>> Cameron (16:52):
Good day, ma.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (16:53):
This is n.
>> Skylar (16:58):
Speed is good day, mate.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (17:00):
This is patatty. How can I help you?
>> Cameron (17:01):
It's a start.
>> Skylar (17:02):
Yeah. Why you sound like that?
>> Speaker B (17:05):
I just want my melatonin.
>> Skylar (17:08):
I don't know why they have't called up. It's a like
high GR of melatonin.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (17:12):
Yes.
>> Skylar (17:13):
Okay. awesome. So tell me about what
greieve looks like.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (17:17):
Yes. So greieve, because he
idolizes the late great Steve
Irwin, has fully sold out to
dressing and acting like Steve Irwin.
>> Cameron (17:28):
We'renounced.
>> Skylar (17:28):
Sponsored by Steve Irwin.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (17:31):
You, no way affiliated with the animal planet or
discovery channel for the.
>> Cameron (17:35):
Or the Irwin channel or the irrwin family trust.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (17:39):
But yes, he sports a
two piece gray cat or not
gray khaki tan shorts with the button up
te. And he look did switch up a
little bit going with the bandana. Hey, so
that's about the little more d dynasty.
>> Skylar (17:55):
Yeah.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (17:56):
The bandana is the Australian flag versus the
American flag.
>> Cameron (17:59):
Yeah.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (18:00):
Yes, yes, yes.
>> Skylar (18:01):
Man, he's all in on this. He's like Josiah with British.
>> Cameron (18:04):
Here's the thing. Is he Australian? No.
>> Skylar (18:08):
Oh, has he, has he done anything in
particular that he would be really proud of? Something
that he is like, oh, yeah, that was me.
>> Cameron (18:16):
That was my thing.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (18:17):
He is A bit of a pacifist. Like he is
strictly into this Steve Irwin
spirit.
>> Skylar (18:23):
Oh.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (18:23):
Not too harm the animals, but he just wants to learn and
haveure appreciate, interact,
collect and release.
>> Skylar (18:31):
Yep.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (18:31):
All these animals. So he's always looking for the next big
animal. But to date his favorite find is
he did come across the inland
taipan on a mission trip. And when he did get to
go visit Australia.
>> Skylar (18:44):
Oh, he actually has gone.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (18:46):
He has been his Australia
more if.
>> Cameron (18:49):
They'Once and that's his whole identity.
>> Skylar (18:51):
Now I'm more than once he's that. He's that
girl, from college that went like, and studied abroad and then
she came back and she's like, oh man, I am, I
am so read.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (19:01):
Yeah. His cover photo on Facebook,
YouTube inst or whatever is him holding inland
Taian deadllyt snake in all of Australia.
Well, double fisting with the can
ofaustus Australian.
>> Cameron (19:14):
Yes. Australia. There you go.
>> Skylar (19:16):
All right. Right on. Okay. So, with that
being said, does he have a particular
achievement now? Now that he's held to taipan, what
is, what is next on his list of things that he wants
to accomplish with his, his life and
his sort of Steve Irwin esque
identity?
>> Fatty Lumpkins (19:34):
So yeah, holding all the snakes and stuff, he, his
heart is still near and dear to crocodiles
and nice, alligators. So he most
recently has heard through the YouTube and the
Instagram reels that there'this
massive alligator in the depths of North
Carolina named Big Al. So he is a
bigy alligator. That is his next,
(19:57):
his next passion project, Dig.
>> Cameron (19:59):
And even I'heard of Big O. Yep. I'm just
a history teacher.
>> Skylar (20:03):
Mm You know, doesn't take much to hear about a big
alligator for sure. so tell me, why did he
choose to take this job at the summer camp then?
>> Fatty Lumpkins (20:12):
So the reason he is twofold. So
he had heard that big owl
resides in these lakes, swamps,
what have you, bodies of water.
>> Skylar (20:21):
Yes.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (20:22):
But his other thing that you should know about Greie
Gershwin is that he is estranged from his
family. Because if you know anything about famous
jazz composers, you're probably familiar with the name George
Gershwin. O who is his great, great
grandad. The premier jazz
musician may have heard of Rhapsody in
Blue as was abord.
>> Skylar (20:43):
So dad actually just went into the public domain
I think this year.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (20:47):
So I did recognize the name. That's his family name.
And jazz music runs in the family,
except it does not run through his veins.
So rather than pursue a life
and musical excellence, he is dizzy
chaseasing snakes and crocodiles and his family does not approve
of it.
>> Cameron (21:05):
So he was he good at
an instrument?
>> Fatty Lumpkins (21:09):
M. He was about as good as Fatty
was in high school. Just he played.
>> Skylar (21:14):
Oh.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (21:16):
M. I like that Fatty's referring to.
>> Cameron (21:18):
Himself in the third person.
>> Speaker B (21:20):
Patty in high school drew very the years of
class.
>> Fatty Lumpkins (21:24):
So, yes, since he does not have his family's money nor
any music scholarships or
concerts to bring in funds, he has
to work at this shoddy day camp
while looking for big L. Ouch.
>> Skylar (21:37):
Don't tell the owner, Willie, that you
think it's a shoddy day camp.
>> Cameron (21:42):
I mean, our job is to make it less shaby.
>> Skylar (21:44):
They actually very tr. So, with
all of the players introduced, I'll give you a little bit of a
background to how this,
will go. firstly, you guys are all going
to be, bust over to this island,
which is the island of Roanoke, right off
sort of the, the edge, the eastern edge of
(22:04):
North Carolina. And there, there has been a
brand new summer camp that was built by
Willie, or Mr. Willie, as he likes
to be referred to, calling it obviously Camp
Roanokak, as would be logical. And you guys have
all been hired to prepare this summer
camp for the upcoming season. So we're talking like mid
June. You guys are getting moved over there. They're going to
(22:27):
have campers this next week. It's
a whole summer camp, right? It's got all the necessities. They're going to
have boats and kayak section. They're going toa have a swimming
area. they're going toa have some fishing. They're going toa have
like a beach area that's got all kinds of beach games,
all that kind of good stuff, that normally would come with a summer
camp. And so you guys are going there the week ahead of
(22:48):
time to do the final touches to prepare this camp. Now,
obviously this camp was built last year. It's
technically brand new. Everything in it is brand new. Or at least,
the buildings have been renovated. Maybe they're older, but the buildings
have been renovated in such a way u to be used for
summer camp activities. But of course it had to be
winterized and now needs to be de winterized. You guys are
going there to get everything all prepped and set up and everything for the campers so that
(23:10):
it's ready to go the second they get there. They don't have to wait.
So, that's where we're kind ofn toa kick things off.
And you're also going toa be hearing some really interesting
historical background, some of which is fictionalized
obviously, but a lot of all of it is inspired very
heavily by the true happenings, that happened at
Roanoke Islands, involving the Lost
Colony. So you guys can head right over to the first episode where you can
(23:33):
hear the history and then we'll jump into the story. So
thank you guys for listening. We'll see you over the episode one
