🎙️ Brian C. Gets Honest About Finding Purpose, Support & Real Recovery at Outreach 419

Brian wasn’t sure about coming out to Outreach 419 at first — “It’s out in the middle of nowhere,” he laughs — but he took the chance… and everything changed.

“This place? It’s just love. That’s the best word I can use,” Brian says.

From cutting trees and cleaning up dinners to stepping into meetings and working the 12 Steps, Brian found more than just a program—he found purpose, belonging, and people who truly care.

“I met my sponsor here. I met people who are serious about doing the work. There’s no judgment—just arms open wide and people who love you for exactly where you are.”

He talks openly about relapse, white-knuckling it, and what’s different this time. “You only hit rock bottom when you stop digging. This time, I’m actually doing the work. Outreach 419 has helped my life tremendously.”

Tune in to hear Brian’s story and what makes this place different.

(00:00):
Hey, I'm Brian.
one thing that I love aboutOutreach 419 or Sober Events,
um, just the community here.
It's, it's truly something special.
I mean, just, there's a, there's just agroup of people that all they care about.
Is you doing good and you doingwhat you're supposed to be doing
and just, they just love you.

(00:22):
It's just love.
I mean, that's the best word Ican describe this place is love.
Uh, being part of this community hashelped me, um, have a sense of purpose.
I mean, from cutting trees tohelping clean up dinner, to being

(00:42):
part of these, meetings every nightand being part of these meetings on
Friday nights and just being ableto have a sense of purpose and being
somewhere where I feel like I belong.
I've also met my sponsorhere and he's a great guy.
There's a lot of people willing towork the 12 steps here with you.

(01:03):
what something I would tellsomebody coming to Outreach 419
for the first time I was a littlehesitant myself on coming up here.
I mean, it's way out inthe middle of nowhere.
I was just like, I was kind of, I wasjust, I don't know, just hesitant.
And I guess that was, for me, thebiggest barrier that I had it was,

(01:25):
just trying to try something new.
And if you're in that same boat, either early on in recovery or if
you've been in recovery for a littlewhile and you're just looking for
somewhere to belong, somewhere to, uh.
Do something different.
This is the place, I mean, they're,you're gonna walk in here and you're gonna
have a whole bunch of people just opentheir arms and tell you they love you.

(01:46):
And that's good to hear for somebodythat's early in recovery like myself.
I started my recovery journey,a couple times in my life.
I always tried to white knuckle it.
I always tried to just, youknow, go through the motions and
unfortunately that never worked for me.
I mean, I had two years of sobrietyand then I got off probation and

(02:08):
went right back to use and, andthen, I mean, I've been to, been
locked up a couple times and just.
This time is something different.
I mean, this time I'mactually doing the work.
I mean, there's, there's steps thatwe have to take in order to have
complete healing, and that's stuffthat I'm going through this time.

(02:30):
I'm not gonna go down the rabbit hole andhow far I dug, but it was pretty deep.
And one thing I would would tell anybodythat's thinking about sobriety or is
already in sobriety, your rock bottom'sonly when you decide to stop digging.
If you are looking for a place tocome, Outreach 419 is that place.
I promise everybody will love you.

(02:51):
Everybody will accept you.
There's no judgment here whatsoever, and Heidi makes a great meal.
Heidi and Robert are just Two fantasticpeople that just want to watch everybody
succeed and watch everybody, you know, just, just do something different
with their lives and they don't judgewho they, who you were in the past.

(03:14):
As a matter of fact, they embrace it
and it's just something special.
I would encourage anybodyto check out Outreach 419.
It's helped my life tremendously andI've learned a lot of things here.
Thank you.
