اقتصاد سوئد در سال های اخیر گرفتار بحران شدیدی شده ، سال ها بود این کشور کوچک روی تورم بخود ندیده بود در شرایط کنونی در سخت ترین گرداب اقتصادی خود گیر کرده است. ----more----
تورم با شتاب به پیش می تازد، و به نظر می رسد از کنترل خارج شده است، در پائیز گذشته و همچنان در زمستان ( ۲۰۲۳ ) از ۱۰ درصد گذشته است. بانک مرکزی برای کنترل تورم مجبور به افزایش بهره در چند نوبت شده که به رکود در بخش های مختلف اقتصادی بویژه در حوزه ساخت دامن زده.
کمسیون اروپا هشدار می دهد که اقتصاد سوئد در بدترین شرایط در بین همه اعضاء اتحادیه اروپا است و اقتصاد سوئد در سال ۲۰۲۳ یک درصد کوچک تر خواهد شد.
