the climax sees Leon Prater setting up Dexter to kill his former friend, Angel Batista. However, Dexter refuses, freeing a restrained Batista who then dies from shots fired by Prater. The episode also features Dexter's confrontation with Charley, where he learns Prater is exploiting her for his own gain after she became a decorated soldier, and she agrees to leave Harrison alone. Dexter also reveals his true nature to Harrison and confesses his role in the death of the Gemini Killer. |

Dexter is trapped in Leon Prater's vault, Angel Batista is dead, and Harrison must confront his father's legacy. The New York Ripper case is also resolved with the discovery of the killer's identity, Don Framt, as a lingering mystery for Detective Claudette Wallace.
