My sister had a friend in middle school who loved
wrestling right, so she tried to convince my sister to
like it too. So one day she's like, I want to.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Wait to sink on w B SmackDown someone.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
Really, I don't know what was on at the time,
keep in mind, this is like December into January, so
this is like twenty two thousand and nine going into
twenty ten.

And I don't know what sports were on at the time,
because I don't know if it was the Knicks and
the Rangers, but I'm just like, I don't want to
watch this garbage. I was like, I want, I want
to watch actual sports, and I was like I after
like twenty minutes. It's funny. The first thing I ever
said or I ever heard on SmackDown was Triple H,
who was there. For some reason. Looking back on it,

he called what's it called? He called Serena deeb because
it was just a straight edge society at the time.
They were just really starting to become a faction. He
called Serena deep Britney Spears. That's a reference for any
one of the in the two thousands for sure, and
he called what else? God? He was he ever saying

a bunch of insults to CM Punk. So basically it
was like a straight out of society versus Triple H.
And I think Mysterio was there too. This is my
first interaction with wrestling, so I'm just like, okay, that's fine.
And then after like a couple of like matches, I
think Our Truth was like the first match I ever
saw on television. I'm just like, who the fuck is
this guy? Who gives a shit? I know, looking back

on it, it's sacrilegious. But what happened?

keep watching it here and there, and I would like
watch it with her, and funny enough, she fell out
of it and I started to really like it. And
now everyone in my house hates it, and I'm the
one that watches it religiously.

So my mom was like, oh, you know what, he's
watched this garbage. It's so fake. It's so this. I'm
just like, oh, yeah, what do you think reality TV is?

So that's basically how I got into wrestling, And I
think I technically considered the Royal Rumble Gunner to be
like my anniversary of being a fan, so to speak,
because that's when I really started to pay attention, was
Roial Rumble going into Elimination Chamber, going into WrestleMania twenty six.

So the first rumble that you watched, who won? Do
you remember?
Speaker 3 (09:25):
See that's that's a funny question because I don't remember
the first rumble I watched. The first rumble I was,
I was a fan for what was Okay, so I didn't.
I don't remember which one. I don't remember the first
one I actually watched. That's the problem. I don't remember.

Well, do you remember the year? You said fifteen years ago?
So twenty ten.

So twenty ten was the first year I started watching.
That's when Edge won the first time, when he came
back from the Achilles that I know. And then an
Edge was on TV and I'm like, Okay, he's the
coolest guy ever. I don't know why I liked him,
but he was so cool and but yeah, so there
was that, and I was just kind of like, uh,

So if you gave me a list of like all
of the Royal Rumble winners, I might be Wait.

the year you got into it. Yeah, favorite wrestler eliminated
John Cena from the Royal Rumble and this year his
favorite guy eliminated John Cena from the Rumble. Jay usso.

Edge being champion like one well once because he won
the world title and that was it, and then he
lost it. Well, he relinquished it because he retired.

to be honest, nice because that it was either Randy
or Punk because that was the only two people that

were holding the championships consistently. Yeah, so I'm gonna have
to go with that. But now, oh, are you current
like current list of champions or can we go back
like the last year or so?

Jacob Fog two is at the merch table, and he
and I had like a few minute conversation. He was
super nice, Like you think he's like an absolute cycle
path from what you see on TV.

He seems like a really sweet guy.

haven't met many famous people, but and I've only ever
met like, and I mean out of all that group

I think those are the three guys. I know for
a fact. I took a picture with throwing that show,

day pass? You're Tommy Dreamer. No, you get to walk
and then work out. We'll talk later. And he's like,
I owe you a photo. So yeah, there's a funnel

I was at work one day and nobody understood my
hype for this, Like my co workers were like, who's

time New Year's It was definitely before the New Year's

I didn't watch. I wasn't watching WWE. Then I was
watching NXT, but I wasn't watching Mayte Roster because I
was boycotting that because Johnsena beat aj Styles to win
the sixteenth title and I had a couple of year hiatus.
That's a long story. But I was watching NXT, so
I didn't even watch. I didn't even actually see that live.

I heard about it. I was like, he's back, but
uh and I started watching again because of Edge. But
as far as oh yeah, it's pretty obvious. But anyway, yeah,
Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole was definitely one that I

When Jay won, Yes, I thought I was gonna have
to call nine one one because he was hyper ventilating.

But but it was so cool, like because because you
know the feeling like when your guy wins the strat,
not just any title, but the title mm hmm, your
guy gets it, the excitement you feel, dude, and and
seeing him like cause it it took me back to

seven Sting versus Hogan World Championship one. I had that
same reaction, and seeing my kid have that reaction was wild.

absolute demon in the ring, because like Jimmy has stepped
up his game a little bit when they have him

has had the bigger push and the bigger success, I

like about those? It looks like it's the same style

who was there. For some reason. Looking back on it,

I think the World Heavyweight title is probably the best

colors for like the last what ten years almost now,
So it's not really all that special to me. It's
just like I said, it's the same thing with different colors. Yeah,
So I'm I'm like something that's a little bit more

like old school but still new, and I think the
World Heavyweight title does that for me. M I like
the big W in the middle, still not necessarily, but
it's still prettier than yeah, a lot of other championships,
and and the Tag Team Championships look really nice too.

I like the which ones Smackdowns, you know what I
like about those? It looks like it's the same style
as the Attitude era, Yes.

Exactly, it's the same style as the Attitude and Ruth
of Suggretion era SmackDown titles.

And I'm not saying that the WWE. The ones on
Raw aren't that bad either. They're not like ugly looking,
it's just that they're not. When you compare the two,
there is no comparison.

I mean, I like, I like those titles. Also, I
think they're pretty cool in their own right. I like
the circle and all the red that's the red and
gold looks pretty solid.

But the smack it looks like a pizza to me,
and it makes me hungry when I look at that.
The Raw Tag Team Championships, Yeah, they look like a

The SmackDown ones kind of put that like it takes
