(00:00):
Hello welcome back it is time for
another episode of the lemon squeeze the only
thing different about this episode is i'm in
my own castle recording this i'm so
excited i got all of my nerdy things like my
star wars pictures all of my figures hanging
up around i got my dog charlotte and i just got my comfort
(00:20):
so sit back relax and get those cups ready because
it's time to get some juice today i am
joined by my special guest co-host i
have my partner greggy hello castion
yes do you want to come up with like a regina george oh yeah we call you regina
george a mean girl yeah regina greg is not me greg is bougie very california
(00:44):
very you know the thing is he's not mean like uh regina george but he definitely
lives his life just like oh yeah
fabulous because i'm from california uh because you're from cali is that why
yeah i think so like getting up waking up watching you do facials in the morning
and eyebrow treatments and.
It's quite i don't think i've ever seen him with his hair not done uh the beauty
(01:07):
regimen it's a staple yeah it is and also i'm joined by mr eo castadon of course
you know we are smoking i'm I'm smoking a vape today.
Of course, we're in the house of Casadine. Right. This is like,
we can't get loud, loud over here like that.
So we got to keep it vape style. Today I'm smoking, I think this is what,
strawberry banana? I think the-
(01:28):
actual name is straw nana strong nana a
little fruity oh yeah but it is of course it's a hybrid so
i will be stoned as usual talking about some
of my favorite and not so favorite topics how
perfect super fruity for a super fruity show all right
now it's time to get some juice going i am so excited about this year's presidential
(01:49):
election at first i'm not gonna lie you probably listened to some episodes back
and i was all gloom and doom and i'm pretty i'm a pretty positive person But
I was not positive about the prospects of voting for Donald Trump and or Joe Biden.
Now, we're still dealing with Trump, but we got Kamala Harris and governor of
Minnesota, Tim Walz, as a ticket for the Democrat. I'm just so excited.
(02:13):
Yeah. Did not see that. Three snaps and a twirl, girl. Now, we saw.
I think truthfully. She said, what's better than black? Gay.
No, I'm just kidding. you know because
a lot of people wanted gavin to be you know her
vp but i think he has a lot of haters already so it was safer for
her to choose someone like tim waltz that has trump
(02:34):
on record praising him for his work during
2020s yeah riot during the riot yeah even
though trump said that you know he did a poor job they talking
about cognitive declining and i'm saying bro man
is like really seriously declining to the point that
he doesn't even remember what he says about certain people so
thank you for proper tim waltz up early i think he's absolutely fabulous i got
(02:55):
to hear one of his first speeches with kamala and it was really good the part
of minding your own damn business was perfect i really think that these two
have a chance in winning what about you yeah as soon as joe ridden dropped out
we all knew kamala was gonna win.
Kamala yeah was going to win darling kamala is
(03:16):
black harris because they said she's not black i
just be laughing out loud
lady you know what's crazy is that they say she's not black and then all these
people started posting all these videos of her going to events and dancing and
drinking and just doing like literally and it's like look girl she's a black
girl but that's how you know they don't have much on her anyway if that's the
(03:36):
approach that they're taking it's like oh now Now she's black when she needs
to be. I'm like, girl, get out of here, honey.
Again, we got other Caucasian people telling people how black they are or aren't.
You know, I think that's quite foolishness, honey. People give her flack for
going after, you know, drug dealers and people with drug charges and things like that.
But that's before marijuana was legalized. Right.
(03:59):
And, you know, back in the day, we did have an issue in our country with drugs.
And murders and stuff because of drugs. Exactly right. I think she was just doing her job.
I think she was just doing her job. I don't think she was targeting any one
specific group of people. I think she was just doing her job.
And it was mainly people of color that were in, you know, for whatever reasons,
(04:22):
I'm not here to scrutinize anyone.
I can just honestly say I've never bought weed from a white guy ever in my entire life.
I'm just pointing it out. And, you know, because I'm from down south,
I bought some marijuana from a few white guys. Pretty good weed, by the way.
Pretty good. But weed back then that I think was good, now I call it bad bitch, honey.
Like right now, we got super marijuana with all these dispensaries popping up.
(04:44):
That shit is super duper duper strong.
But, I mean, I digress.
Yeah, my brothers were asking me on the game earlier. They were like,
oh, do you smoke flower out in Minnesota?
I was like, yeah, you know, we still do. It's, you know, definitely not as strong
as California because those infused joints be... Oh, I know.
(05:06):
Be rugged. When I go to California, I don't think I get anything done.
I spend most of my days laying around.
That's probably how I put on so much weight in Callie smoking that weed.
Because the bitch just be on the door dash and just chilling in the swimming pool.
I do love Callie. I don't like the idea of earthquakes, but I like Callie.
Oh, goodness. But hopefully we will have Kamala as president by then because
(05:29):
she'll take good care of us. Yes.
I'm so excited. What is this thing about coconuts? like I'm not really into
I don't understand social media that much and I'm telling you they talking about
coconuts I don't know she's the one that said I don't know what she was even referencing it was.
Did you just fall out of a coconut tree you exist in
the context in which that became before you which
(05:51):
is basically saying like i understand what she meant the second part
but it's just funny because her saying did you just fall out
of a coconut tree is like did you just wake up today it's like her saying i
get it okay read we should have guessed well yeah i guess she read because she
just did a rally and in the rally they had some palestinian protesters where
she like straight up checked them like she did mike pence back in that debate
(06:12):
that i'm speaking i'm speaking Do you want Donald Trump to win?
No? Well, then I'm speaking. I love Kamala Harris.
She's tough. I think she will do a good job as president. And I think we need
a change in this country as far as our leadership goes.
Tell us what we've gotten with nothing but white men leading this country,
with the exception of like Barack Obama.
(06:33):
And even he, to me, to a point, was just a standard politician.
Well, they beat Barack down so hard he couldn't really make anything happen.
He literally tried all the different programs that he started just to try to
help people under a certain dollar amount.
And people do benefit a lot from Obamacare, no matter how much they try to slice that bread.
(06:55):
People are able to get health care when they could not get health care in this
country. He was the president that just proved right at face value that the
problem with this country is that the rich don't want to pay their part. Yeah.
And it's like most of them think no shade to them. They're like, we got rich.
You know, some of y'all got money from your mamas and your dad and your grandpapas.
(07:17):
But the point is, if all the rich people in our country put just a few dollars
into the same bucket, you can help change the entire country.
Country but to them it's like then who's gonna work who's gonna clean our bathrooms
who's gonna cook our burgers they're gonna take the black jaws or you know what
did he just say like what are what what are black jobs i'm like what are black
(07:40):
i thought black jobs were jobs honey i didn't even know their job he said i know what black jobs are,
girl well of
course you know he's not going to say that he probably was thinking it donald
trump i'm just like what is a black job how
do you like yeah people of color still follow him after his that statement you
know what i mean because unfortunately the people of color that follow him in
(08:04):
no shade i love my people of color i do but sometimes we have simple-minded
views on things and one of the things that i think people think is like oh i
got that stimulus check trump gave
me free money i think i heard sexy red say something about that oh my not knowing
that luckily for her she's rich she didn't notice that she had to pay that money back.
We had to pay that money back like you
(08:26):
know i got a little coin over here but i'm still one of the
when it comes to wealth i'm still a muggle i felt the
stain of that he didn't give us anything but chaos
and you know made us not believe in our government
anymore like trump helped to he's a a child
if nobody could play with the toy if he couldn't play with it nobody can't
play with the toy so i'm gonna break it you know that's what he did this conversation is
(08:48):
making me think of remember when kelly osborne got canceled from
the view during the first run of donald trump
she was there because she she was like was it
the view she was on the view yeah oh wow
yes i remember because rosie perez was on there at the time
and we love rosie i did like rosie she i just
was looking at it she was like if you build a wall and keep
(09:08):
all the latin people out who's gonna wash your
toilet donald trump oh and they were like oh girl
and then kelly's like wait that's not
how i meant it we all know what i know what she meant
but you know what she meant she shouldn't it was not
worded correctly exactly it was a
bunch of out of touch it it was a touch out of
(09:29):
touch and i think one of the biggest issues they gave her was that you're not
even american girl you're from the uk like why do you have maybe you don't know
comment sister but if you live in america and you can vote in america regardless
of where you're from or where you're going if you can vote so that's the question kelly can you vote.
She needs to continue fucking singing on her tea and crumpets.
(09:54):
I feel bad for her, though, because we all knew what she was trying to say.
I knew what she was trying to say. She wasn't trying to. It just came out very bluntly.
It came out terrible. But that's
where that whole movement of there's more jobs than just this for us.
We can, as people of color, we don't just clean bathrooms.
We don't just herd sheep, girl. We don't just cook in your fast food restaurants
(10:14):
or baggy groceries. We all have intellect.
Celebrities and supermodels. We're all that. I mean, I just hope that with having
Kamala and Tim Walz as our Democratic candidates for presidency,
I just hope it changes a few things in this country.
Even though I'm not going to lie right now, I don't have the biggest hope in
what that looks like because we've been beat down a lot in this country,
(10:37):
especially like paying high taxes, inflation.
And I was like, well, the president can change inflation. No,
people wake up. The corporations that you shop at, they can help inflation by
not raising the prices for groceries and other things that you need in your households.
They don't have to raise those prices. They're super duper rich.
They don't need to. They could just not buy a new yacht or not buy one of their
(10:58):
new houses this year and take care of their people. Like, we have to, honey.
I'm just keeping it real, boo. I hate me sometimes because I was like,
no, girl, I'm getting my yacht that I just bought.
Like, how dare you say that? You finna pay that $15 for bread.
Kendall jenner that she can't have another yacht let
me tell you let me tell you this you saw culturally appropriative girl
(11:20):
don't eat bread eat tortillas yeah you better eat tortillas
let me stop let them eat tortillas that's so
terrible they're cheaper no but that just takes me back to
what i had just said i feel like if all the richest people in our
country puts just a little bit into the same pot it can
change our entire country yeah it will but i mean hopefully
with people again like having Kamala maybe she
(11:42):
will make laws and help to pass laws that will change the
way things are done in this country so people can get ahead and that's
the end make sure y'all vote this year vote
vote vote vote and vote with your heart I
don't care who you are I don't care who you vote for vote with your
heart and and just pay attention to people in your community if
you really love them understand that it's not just the
(12:02):
Donald Trump that we're worried about it's people that surround him with
their views of taking us back in the time where we are
black people were almost in shackles and there probably were
not that many Latin people in this country if you weren't working for someone
or just think about the people that are surrounding him or telling a woman how
they should give birth and how they shouldn't get birth this is not what we
(12:24):
should be focusing on we have so many other things in our world to focus on
and we need government that represents just that,
Good luck to Governor Tim Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris.
Oh, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. Speaking of pop, I'm so excited for music right now, y'all.
(12:45):
I absolutely love Chaperone, Sabrina, Carpenter's Expresso.
I think I heard a few new songs from Billie Eilish that bop.
What is it? 365 from Charli XCX.
Yes. So much good music out here. And by the way, they're so good.
Did you know that those divas that I just named, Billie Eilish,
Sabrina Carpenter, Chapa Rowan and Charlie, Charlie are top 10 on the charts
(13:10):
right now. All of those beautiful young ladies. Kudos.
Yeah, I mean, it's definitely a fresh taste from get up on your big.
Yeah i think rap just got a little too toxic
i think that's what happened with it you know where we were loving it
we were loving the the woman movement it went
from you know carly rapping about i like it like that
to every other song is you know about somebody or dissing
(13:33):
someone you know to even nikki minaj bringing out some
of her best club bangers to wasting her second pink
friend and barb's gonna hate me for this because she wasted this
album honey the album was not hot sexy red
i'm sorry you know people like her music but some of her
music don't make sense or it's trash who else
can we name like even when we went to go see megan like
(13:54):
yeah she has a lot of good older hits but like even her current
album now it's all about like eating her cooter or like yeah who
cares girl i love that
dude to get trying on the shit to talk about girl right i'm
like she all i mean i love megan
i am one of probably one of the fans but i mean
me Megan really only raps about certain things and in my personal opinion
(14:15):
regardless of Megan I feel like what makes the
best musician is you stick to what you know stop talking about things that that
has nothing to do with you Megan raps about getting fucked fucking making money
or performing but I think that's also why the music is not as popping as a Sabrina
a chopper right now because people don't want to talk about that anymore.
(14:37):
We have such an overload of sexualizing women or just sexualizing everything.
And I'm taking from me, I'm happy that people are able to express themselves,
but I do, what happens to just the fun in music?
Making music that we all can relate to, that we all can dance to,
that we all can celebrate and just brings joy to us.
(14:58):
I'm sure rap does bring joy to some people, but to the masses and the masses
have spoken, This is what they want to hear right now.
You know, they want to hear some nice, good singing.
They want to hear some good R&B hits. They want to hear music again.
And I'm not saying again, rap is not music, but it has become a bit on the trash side.
It has even though i'm
(15:20):
doing a rap drag rush this week i love my
rap don't get don't get it twisted honey the best thing to exercise to
or to clean your house to is some good booty shaking ass rap
the only thing that shook up the rap community really was just eminem dropping
an album recently but and where where where is that exactly like none of the
i haven't heard me or like younger generations are i think really listening
(15:43):
unless you're already a dedicated you know eminem i I ain't heard nothing about Eminem.
This must be the- He went number one for his- Was it briefly?
It was when he dropped the album. Oh, it was quick. That's why I said it.
It was like the blip, the Thanos snap, honey. It was quick, honey.
We didn't- Took it from Taylor for one week. And that was it, honey.
(16:04):
She loved it. Well, that Taylor album was not the best Taylor album for me.
I liked Fortnite, and I think that was probably it.
I could tolerate other songs on it, but that was it. oh can
i just talk about the vmas for just like one second
how tanasha is not nominated for it
yet she has like the hit song of the summer and they.
Even used her like lyrics to promote like their
(16:25):
tweets well that's enough i don't i'll say this you like
lizzo said you don't have to have a crown to know that you're a queen
honey she doesn't need it i think tanasha will do
it with her music she just needs to keep going she doesn't
need it they're using her songs to promote the vmas
maze that's a paycheck the award don't come with a
paycheck i'll take promotion for 500 alex
(16:47):
okay i was gonna be funny to you
greg but what you said sasha makes a
lot of sense i don't need to be nominated girl make sure my check
is in the mail on time this is m by mtv.com
thank you guess what are you performing
i thought no i won't be in the building i'll be across the world doing
my thing i think she'll be there she might be performing for it
(17:09):
i'm just i'm in the hottest songs right
now too speaking of other hot artists out here tanasha victoria
monet even though victoria is getting some flack right now from
dealing with chris brown i think people need to just let that go
wait i think the chris brown thing yeah so oh yeah i brought that up to you
allegedly victoria monet is cozyed up to chris brown a lot of these people who
(17:30):
are like not anti-chris brown to to the open public but behind the scenes they're
like going they're still going you know no literally so I think.
I feel two ways about it. I can understand I'm worried about their career,
but I think the fact that Rihanna and Chris Brown both made peace of that situation.
We just need to move on. We all have moved on from that situation.
(17:52):
It just doesn't undermine or negate the fact that Chris Brown is just a terrible
person and he's just an abuser still to this day.
I do understand that he has his issues.
I still personally don't really listen to his music, but I can't take the fact
the way that he's a good artist.
Oh i mean i will never discredit that he's like a
(18:13):
terrible artist of course like it's the same thing with
james charles like i don't care for him as
a person but he's a great makeup artist right he's done fantastic work i can't
no i'm kidding but i i think counseling culture it becomes difficult because
then you after a while y'all gotta start keeping like a list of how many people
you don't like you took the words right out of my mouth it's a lot of work it's like
(18:37):
you know i think when it comes to counseling an
artist or anybody we have to remember like we need to be counseling
these big corporations you know these artists they're very small
they don't even matter if you totally be honest i think i read a post today
somebody was talking about the way people hold on to things and then 150 years
that people won't even even know or remember half of this stuff and that we
(19:02):
need to learn to just live and love and i feel like it's the same Same way with council culture.
I think we're going to council. We need to council people that truly matter.
I mean, counsel the artists. If you personally think that you can't get with
what they do, but Chris Brown doesn't affect my life.
I'm not going to take away from the good works that he's done and the music that he's made.
He has to live with those demons. I think here's my question. Um,
(19:25):
You were just talking about, like, where's the list of people that were supposed
to be canceling and then what we're supposed to be canceling.
It's like, I feel like every celebrity gets it different.
When R. Kelly got canceled, everyone was like, you can't listen to R.
Kelly's music. You can't sing it because he's canceled.
Right? Well, R. Kelly. But when Michael Jackson supposedly got canceled,
nobody was like, you can't listen to Michael Jackson.
(19:47):
You can't do it anywhere here. You can't do all of that. I think when it came
to Michael Jackson, though, it's like he was accused of these things,
but never found guilty. True. Okay, true. They were actually fine.
Even the boys that came out later in the line, and I ain't finna keep talking about this.
Okay, so. They came out later in the line and Oprah did that trash interview
with those boys, which let me down because I was such a huge fan of Oprah's
(20:09):
until this. And they was like, well, we lied.
This did happen and this is, it's like, boo, I'm sorry.
I'm not even finna entertain this anymore because at least the man needs to
be alive so he can defend himself.
I get you. I think that's the only thing about it, but I'm not going to counsel
culture to me. It's difficult.
If I'm going to counsel you, it's going to be something impactful.
(20:30):
I'm not going to waste my energy counseling people who truly don't matter to my life.
R. Kelly is another story. R. Kelly, what he did was trash.
Okay. And I feel like he deserves his legacy to be washed because he predatorized
a lot of young ladies. He did.
And there was witnesses to it. He was found guilty for it.
There's evidence. evidence chris brown he's a
(20:53):
trash person you know yes everybody's pretty miffed that
he did what he did to rihanna but she also confessed her parts in
that so and they worked that out he's also abused karuchi though
like was that ever like they were confirmed yes okay yeah he's abused multiple
people like it's not just rihanna i have no comment on the whole i have no comment
i if if people thought he was crazy with the rihanna thing he definitely seems
(21:20):
like a nutbag with the whole crew reaching, sorry.
He does seem like a nutbag. And see, that's what's wrong with these young men.
These people need to pay attention to who they dating, honey.
Because he does seem like a little cuckoo clock. I'm sorry. Cute like that?
He cute. And he went from cute, bubbly, cuddly to tattooed the fuck up and claiming
the game. Like this is who this person was already.
(21:42):
Well, I just want to just before we move on, because I know we're about to move on. Yeah.
I just want to know, like, how do you feel about what you said?
It's situational. You did say
that. Like you said, R. Kelly deserved it because of the things he did.
And then Michael was proven not guilty. So there's that thing.
But like, what about people like J.K. Rowling?
We all hate J.K. Rowling, but nobody wanted to give up Harry Potter.
Nobody canceled that. Well, because this is a bigger where R.
(22:06):
Kelly is an individual artist.
Okay. Michael Jackson, the same. Okay. Chris Brown, the same.
J.K. Rowling wrote a book that was turned into a movie that was produced by,
I forget his last name is Yates, and not to mention Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert
and all the other people that were part of that legacy. Like Emma.
Counseling it would mean counseling out their hard works because they don't
(22:28):
have the same views in this lady. And even then counseling her,
I feel like we need to be more in the mind of trying to educate people,
too, because counseling them is just one thing.
But like we have to try to educate people, too, to go along with it.
If she refuses to be educated, then guess what?
We're no longer dealing with her. I think they counseled her immediately when
(22:49):
she made her ignorant statement.
But hey, she's an older white lady. I don't expect for her to be able to adapt
to some of the things that are the new norms in this society.
Everybody's not going to be on board with that so does that mean that
we go around counseling everybody or we just learn to live
in our own light and celebrate it with other like-minded individuals and just
(23:09):
not give them the energy i feel like to me counseling and this is my personal
views on it it's a lot of energy to be thinking about an mf when you're not
around them and how much you dislike them and just everything i'm just counseling
i ain't got time for that but i.
So to go with you on that part where it's how you said, you know,
JK Rowling, she's canceled, but you know, people still love Harry Potter.
(23:33):
Like, you know, how does that make sense?
I think it's because people don't realistically associate JK with Harry Potter anymore.
If I'm not mistaken, Warner Brothers bought the rights canceled,
like they bought the rights from her and she has like some participation,
like a 10 or 5% like cut, but she's not like able to work on the project.
(23:54):
But she gets to put her name on shit because it's her IP.
It's her original intellect. Like, you know, that's technically still.
So that's where it is. Like, and that's why in the recent special,
like, you know, it was crazy that Daniel and Emma, you know, came back and did they.
Because they acknowledged that they did love doing this project.
Like this project literally put them all on the map and it really set the tone.
Yeah, it changed their lives.
Yeah, it really pushed them into their careers where they are at now.
(24:17):
And they never want to disregard that, like, source material.
But they also don't want to further work with it, knowing now what it's contained with.
You won't be blackening my brand. I know that's right.
Emma Watson, yeah, definitely not. Yeah, she did real good after Harry Potter. The rest of them, yeah.
I think Daniel had some cute movies. Some, but yeah, Emma definitely was the...
(24:41):
Let's just say Emma Watson was the only one who made good choices. Yeah, I'll say that.
Well, we can't say what good choices. Maybe they wanted to do these movies.
Oh, we know. And that was just that.
Because I get it. Daniel doing some of the ones he did. Because when you're
a child star, like, it's hard to separate you from your child likeness.
You know, look at McCulloch Hawkins.
And, you know, seriously, like, how many things he got.
(25:03):
And some of the stuff that he got, unfortunately, were flops.
And it wasn't his fault. It was the bad scripts that they do.
But, you know, whatever. We'll talk about that some other time.
Yeah, child actor's gone bad. Yeah, ooh. But, yeah, I'm so excited,
y'all. Back to the good music that we were talking about earlier.
I'm excited for music now because it definitely makes me want to do drag again.
(25:26):
And I started to get bored performing with some of the songs that were out or
you have to repeat a lot of the old songs because they were hot back in the day.
I'm happy. So make sure, you know, y'all check these drag shows out because
you get to hear a lot of these new bops out here.
I think Priscilla does a song that I like, too.
Was it Stay Here After Hours?
(25:48):
I can't think of one. We gotta take it slow.
I think so. I don't think so. I don't think you're right.
What did you say? i said chapelle rowan is that no that's not
chaperone that's not chaperone no you said chaperone girl
you're like the youngest person at this table how you saying her
name wrong i'm i think it's chapel yeah it is chapel i'm
just and i think it's roan not chapel roan chapel i can see that because l o
(26:12):
l l o a n is own yeah yeah we're on so chapel roan i'm so sorry now i'm corrected
i will say it proper my little girl cr i'm gonna do her initials you remember
Remember when she came to the night? Who?
Chaperone. I was not there. You weren't there. I, my fabulous self,
was hosting that evening.
I called out, darling. Oh, you weren't hosting. That's why I think I got out.
(26:36):
But you were hosting because I didn't go to work. Yes, okay.
Let me know the next time you want to call out.
Yeah, she was there. And I, at the time, and it's so crazy because I feel like
it was just so many months ago, I didn't know who she was.
I was like, oh, that's so great. And then now you can't get away from her.
Everyone's dressing like her. everyone's playing her music i'm not
(26:57):
gonna lie hot to go bangs it does bang
i hate you know what else bangs good luck babe i
absolutely love oh my goodness pink pony club i
mean i'm so everybody like pink pony club it's gotta
grow on me i don't know why i'm like that girl
i think when i read her reasoning behind writing
pink pony club it made me like it even more it's not
(27:17):
supposed to mean anything she had the best night of her life at a
club at a place she's never been into before and it inspired her
to write a feel-good song about that moment and she's afab queen right she is
a lesbian that does drag love that because drag is not a gender it is a art
form so i absolutely love that she does drag by the way and good drag.
(27:41):
Of course, she got somebody to make her costumes. Of course. Yeah.
She can afford it. But still, it's good drag. She can afford it.
Oh, yeah. When you can afford some drag, baby, you can have the best drag in the world, baby.
And I know she got some good costumes up in that closet. I can't get fit in
none of them, but I would love to play with some of her wigs, maybe a few of her bras.
But she wears a lot of two-piece panty little outfits. I might be able to get in something.
(28:05):
Part of being AFAB. She has the body to rock it, darling.
I do. I live for her. definitely does and you know a sabrina
carpenter love espresso it's another song that
i think i heard someone was singing it and i'm like i did
not know she sang that song please please that's
it that's it i didn't even know you could
(28:25):
tell that i'm an older queen by some of the music that i listen to but by me
being an older queen that likes some of this new music that means it's good
darling i'm happy for sabrina carpenter because i was excited for her performance
i At Coachella on the live stream. She did not sound that great in Coachella.
Well. She did not, honey. Coachella's a whole different environment,
(28:49):
though, in terms of like when you're in an arena and you have a surrounding.
Girl, it ain't stop Beyonce.
Oh, well, I know, but. Or Lady Gaga.
I know. And this girl, she's like, you know, in her upcoming still,
I would say. She got that little voice box going, baby.
They got that digital box back there making us sound like it's Prista.
Yeah, she's. I know. It's a catchy song. I do love it.
(29:12):

H-O-T-T-O-G-O You can take me hard to go Hello, I'm back.
(30:16):
It's time for some more of the lemon squeeze. Get those cups ready.
Put some ice in it too. It's time for some sweet juice. Honey,
it's been a while since I've done one of these.
Partially because I'm lucky to be a busy drag queen. And I can admit,
sometimes I'm not always feeling inspired.
I think one of my biggest struggles, because I want to be completely honest
(30:37):
to people that listen to me,
is I am going through my weight loss journey
and it is quite the struggle mainly because I also smoke weed as you know weed
gives you the munchies and I don't want to cook when I get home and I think
trying to lose weight also it involves you going to the gym it involves you
cooking and prepping food and I can admit to you when I'm off of work I don't
(31:00):
want to be doing none of that.
It's a struggle y'all it's a struggle greg knows
it already he goes back and forth with me all the time it's you
know something that i can't blame
you because it's hard sometimes it's just hard to be motivated and i'm sure
you can understand that you know in your own struggles with whatever you're
(31:21):
having i'm sure my listeners can also understand it it just gets difficult like
my heart or hearts i know that for a fact that i'm not meant to be a plus size
drag queen to an extent extent.
I think I want to be thick, but I like to be curvy.
I like to feel sexy in my drag. And you know, being a plus size queen,
you don't always feel the sexiest in your drag, which is also sucks.
(31:43):
Cause sometimes I'll be looking down good when I don't be feeling like that mentally.
So it is a struggle to get motivated.
And I don't know why, you know, have like this thing where I go through like a creative block too,
where I'm like trying to come up with concept because I work so many
different shows and brunches can be quite a drain in that
where you're constantly having to come up with new costumes and new looks it's
(32:04):
just been a block it's been a block but i think my favorite thing about doing
podcasting is that you can like talk about that stuff and bench and get it out
of your system in a healthy manner i mean do you have ever have issues with.
Blockage me yeah any one of you girl well you've known me for longer than a
(32:26):
little bit you know that I am one of the worst people when it comes to blockage
and feeling artistically stifled. I get,
Sometimes into my mode where I want to do so much and I just absolutely have no clue what to do.
And when I figure out what it is, what I want to do, suddenly I forget how to
(32:46):
do it. Or somebody else is doing it.
Or as soon as I think of it, I see a picture of someone who just did it and it's like, okay.
So that also leads right into, am I no longer creative?
Creative or i should just let you know that you are
creative when you see people like even though you know they didn't obviously
steal it from you great minds think alike and i've had plenty of friends who
(33:06):
tell me that just remember you're not stealing anything from anybody great minds
think alike you have the same idea and it's valid and most of our ideas that we get anyway come from.
Media and what we see in everyday life you may not remember that you saw that
but you know you You were inspired by it in some way.
(33:27):
I do wish that like, you know, it was easier to be inspired on my level for fitness.
Because when I look at fitness now, I think the hardest thing for me when it
comes to fitness is you see all these thin people talking about their journey
and all the struggles that they had.
And, you know, sometimes you don't really get to see them in their likeness.
I had a trainer who was a very good trainer. I thought he was amazing.
(33:47):
The reason why I'm not working with him right now, mainly because I'm not going
to lie, bitch can't afford it right now. Times have changed.
You know, brunches are fabulous. they're not always as lucrative as
they used to be and that's okay things change seasons change
trust me i'm definitely trying to figure out ways to get myself more
financially sound and that's another important thing
you should always think about your financial stability in the future when you're
(34:08):
in the world of entertainment but that's a whole nother subject but um he was
a good trainer i think i just found it hard sometimes you know when he would
want me to do certain things or i would be like you know i can't or my back
would hurt and i'm not gonna say 100 i can't but like my back hurt.
And it just literally felt like I always had something wrong.
Got bad knees, my back hurts.
And I used to go to a chiropractor. They told me most of this stuff came from.
(34:32):
Drag, performing, jumping off, doing splits, jumping off speakers,
jumping off stages, and my body's just damaged.
So it is hard to get motivated. And you know, you're with a trainer and you're
working out and you're trying to give your absolute best.
This is a conversation I would have to have with him. Don't know if I was trying
hard or it was difficult.
I'll say the biggest part was the food for me. Working out was pretty fun,
(34:55):
especially when I would finish a good workout.
I felt so accomplished. I felt like a beach was a superstar.
I started feeling like Incredible Hulk, aka wonder woman honey
after a good workout and i perform that way like
i do miss all of the beauty of working
out you can feel the difference in your body especially being a
43 year old drag queen i could definitely tell me working
(35:15):
out and me not working out i miss it because now
when i put my heels on sometimes i'm like up there doing
beyonce this ain't texas and the
knees saying whoa they want to give out and they
feel like i'm gonna fall and bust my ass honey that's why
i think fitness is important so if anybody's listening out
there and you know you want to give me some advice i take
(35:35):
advice i love hearing other people's thoughts about you know
what they're going through if they're struggling or if they made it
through their struggle and what advice would you give someone like me
who is having that block you know my fitness has been
an issue now for almost a year for
me like i think i've never weighed as much
as i weighed this time and yeah i'm not sad don't where like y'all this ain't
(35:58):
no conversation of sadness this is more me just being open and honest about
things that i go through because i don't really i don't have a whole lot of
friends and that sucks you don't have a lot of friends or you don't allow a
lot of people to be your friend.
Yeah no i'm giving you shit but i do understand i think it is because it's hard
(36:20):
to have life is It is easier if you're successful to have a smaller circle of friends.
Well, truthfully, also, you guys are all friends with each other.
And you guys are all performers, entertainers. And you guys are all, you know, working.
Or you're trying to prepare for your next booking.
And, you know, it's like, where do you find the time to really,
like, balance all of that, too?
(36:42):
You know? Because you have to not only work with your free time,
but you have to also work with this other entertainer's free time.
Who's trying to probably include someone else on a different free time.
And it's just like, it's so much to the point where it's like,
I'm going to just focus on my booking at this point. Oh, yeah, I get that way.
You know, I know a lot of my friends want me to come out and do things.
Because then your time probably ends up wasted. And you're like,
(37:02):
damn, I could have been doing this, this and this instead of just waiting on
someone who's like not respecting my time. Right. It's funny.
That you even brought this whole thing up because an issue that I
had a few years ago like me personally right now I feel like
I'm just now reaching successful you
know and I don't want to toot my own horn but I do
remember when I first was coming back out
(37:23):
onto the scene trying to be out and make friends and do everything I felt like
a lot of the people that I were trying to make my friends just flat out didn't
have time for me they're busy they're doing this and it makes you feel some
type of way but now you know I have my own things going on I got my own bookings
and everything i realized all
the people i was trying to make friends with were already busy booked and.
Doing other stuff so it's not like they were like we don't
(37:46):
have time for you girl but i literally physically actually
don't have time for you yeah which is no
shade nothing personal yeah and that's that's what
i had to learn it was like it's not a personal thing it's like i have
to go to work if y'all want to go party and do all that i
will go do your thing i will do your thing i don't mean
that i don't love you but i'm gonna go get the bag i'll meet y'all there
(38:06):
later yeah that's another struggle too is like managing friendships
while you're working as a performer me you know i work a lot so when i do have
free time i love playing my video game so she is my best that's my best friend
it's my bs5 that chick never lets me down honey so i love playing video games i just like
(38:29):
being in a Zen space because part of my job is like helping people have a good time.
And that takes a lot of energy.
I need to learn how to manage my energy. I will say that because I do want to lose weight.
Like that's like my number one goal right now, because weight loss is not just for vanity.
I'm 43 years old. I want to consider the fact that I am at that age where things
(38:50):
slow down, things change on your body and you have to consider it.
So you have to take care of your heart. Watch out for diabetes.
And then I'm a black man. That also goes along with the problems.
It's just learning how to manage that mental time so that you can give that love.
Every part of you you know and i think as
far as my friends though my true friends know that i love them as much
(39:10):
as i do love being around people when i'm performing after i'm
done performing honey i could i'm good because girl i just i'm like the person
that i don't want to spoil your fun i'll get over your house if it's too noisy
you're gonna see it on my face like you know if your food ain't good i'm gonna
get frustrated because i could
have got me some door that girl i told you not Not to bring his hair.
(39:31):
It's going to be a set girl. And that is the worst. When you bring a bunch of
bitches that I do not like.
And you know I don't. Oh my God, honey. What a drain.
So I feel like it's just better to stay my butt at home and not do that.
But I do love, love the friends that I have.
My friends are really good at trying to motivate me and help me with my goals.
So I am fortunate in that way. But like, yeah, God, my goodness.
(39:55):
It is a struggle, hunty. tea.
I'm working on it and I'll keep everyone updated on all of my different struggles
and how I figure them all out.
Well, I feel like now that you are going to start doing the lemon squeeze at
home, I feel like it opens up the gateway to more people coming on your time.
Yeah, true. That is something that would be nice about doing this here in my own place.
(40:18):
It's now when I feel passionate about it, I can just get on here and do my thing.
I do hope to be sitting in
front of a camera one day i just want to get this format down pack
and learn what i need to learn about podcasting and i want
it to be genuine i don't want any fakery i don't want to try to pander to anyone
if you really love what i'm doing then you're just gonna come to it like i don't
(40:39):
i'm not that kind of person like i'm gonna have greg digitize me out when you
get the camera up in here i'm gonna just get blur on screen girl i'm having a membrane jumpsuit you.
You remember when the people confessing to different crimes or snitching on
(40:59):
different crimes, they just put them in the dark with their...
You know what I'm trying to say? That they make them anonymous.
All that blurb. With the voice like.
All written through. Girl. We ain't got time for that. We smoked too much weed for that.
That might be funny as hell though. It would be funny. We probably should just do a whole episode.
We just blurred out. We got that bright ass season one drag race. RuPaul light on us.
(41:25):
It's just blurry as hell. The fantasy filter. Where they look like they rub
Vaseline on us. Oh my goodness.
We should do that. Once you have a nice little set going on and then we get
you a little soundboard going.
Yeah, we'll figure it out because I really want to do it. And I want to interview some people.
Like, I still want to interview Demita. I still want to interview a lot of people
(41:45):
and get into some deep stuff, but also get into some fun stuff.
Yes, what's the shade, Sasha? Just tell us some of the shades you want to get into.
I ain't doing no shade. You know, let me tell you something.
I always know tea, but you will not get that from me because we serve juice
here, honey, lemon juice.
If you want tea Go I was trying to
be messy It's fine I'll ask 80 No let me No Zella What she say girl No Zella
(42:10):
Shout out to ADHD My drag net Them girls Them ears be percolating Honey If you
want some tea That person knows A lot of information They know Black tea Mint tea,
Herbal tea Earl Grey Leavened grass tea Jasmine girl Information Bring me Jesus.
(42:32):
That's one of my favorite tiktoks you know what,
but anyway life has been great you know i got my little doggie here charlotte
greg has been doing an amazing job he takes her out i'm more the i don't know
when did i turn into like the homebody i guess because i cook and you don't cook,
oh wow i mean just throw that out there
(42:53):
it's the truth girl you don't cook honey it's okay
i prefer you not to cook because i don't want no burnt food i
don't freehand cook i follow recipes
and i like to use an air fryer for freehand cook
and i don't want to use no air fry i just use the heat up things
when i want to reheat something it's so
funny because i was gonna make a joke about i haven't seen you
(43:14):
scramble an egg or fry no bacon but this i should just say i'd rather
have to cook because you can't cook like okay you know we can't not cook he
gets panicky and he gets you can tell
he has to smoke that stizzy that friend we we
do have some of the same issues i feel like i can cook certain
things but if i don't have the recipe directly in front of me i don't know you
know i just need to let both of y'all cook a recipe and record y'all doing it
(43:39):
it is going to be the funnest not to do it no top chef it's gonna be funny not
together yeah no one One by one,
because together, we'd be just absolute chaos. That's Pandora's box.
I ain't got time for that. Now we should do so. We should cook a whole meal
together. Hell no. You're going to burn my apartment down.
No, man. Or we could be straight up fighting, y'all. Greg is trying to fight
(44:02):
me. I'm going to tell him, boil a hot dog. This shit going to be on fire.
From boiling hot dogs. Girl, I make the best chili cheese dogs you ever had
in your entire life. You make good fried chicken. You make amazing fried chicken. You really do.
You have some of the best fried chicken I have ever tasted. Wow,
Greg, you're not going to say nothing about racism right now,
are you? I'm not. I'm just agreeing.
I'm not. I thought I was black, too.
(44:24):
No. And some black people don't like fried chicken. That's a myth.
Some black people do not like fried chicken and grape soda and watermelon, okay?
It's a myth. No, because I'm just always asking Greg if he's going to cook Mexican food.
Well, he's Mexican. That's not a bad question. He says that's racist because
I'm always asking him if he's going to do it for us.
Well, he always tries to proceed in asking me in Spanish.
(44:46):
I think that he
is working on getting canceled I always warn
him I'm like girl you gonna joke with the wrong person I'm still
gonna still make 15% just like JK Rowling okay JK Rowling yeah she is making
15% he's like I mean maybe he's just trying to learn yeah I know Greg is just teasing y'all I know,
(45:15):
he's making me laugh really hard.
It is funny. How are the local shows been?
Far around here i haven't been out in so long i'm not going to lie to
you so i can't tell you but you know you can always go
out and check them out for yourself can you tell us eo where we can see some
amazing shows i can tell well we're let's not say amazing girl no let me stop
(45:36):
no i i can tell you all the different shows going on in our city before a few
months missing before Before we calm down,
the first thing I will say is for all of our fabulous venues or you can go and
see drag and different drag adjacent shows and all the stuff in between.
Please update your website, please. Especially if you want people to give you
(46:00):
a shout out and let people know what's going on.
Please update your websites, not just your Instagram or your Facebook event
page that you made your website for the venue that you're going to be at.
And I guess that only goes to the people who are in charge.
Having said that, let me start with the things that we know for sure are going on in our city right now.
(46:21):
Over at Lush, we have Mirage on Saturdays. And the first Saturday is the Mirage
King takeover produced by Mr. Dick Bondyke.
Sundays is a brunch of drag. And if I'm not mistaken, they have two showings
on Sundays with different things from week to week.
If i'm not mistaken the first wednesday of every
month is vogue down minneapolis please check
(46:43):
out vogue down on instagram like subscribe
and follow them and that way they have other events going on just make sure
to follow vogue down tuesdays is oh hey sis which is their drag competition
if you would like to go it's on tuesday is not tuesdays i thought it was sunday
sundays is oh hey sis yeah sundays is oh hey sis oh that's unless it's changed
(47:04):
unless it's changed make Make sure you go to their website.
No, it's no tea, no shade, honey. Well, that's why I was saying they need to update their website.
Well, they can reach out to the Lush and check that out.
Exactly right. Because we don't like. Because things do change.
Things do change. Go check it out. Yeah, things do change. And for a number of reasons.
Exactly right. So, yeah, go check out Oasis. This is their competition show.
(47:26):
You can go and debut your drag. And then they have a panel of judges that will
give you their honest, true opinion on how you can take your next steps.
Over at Saloon, every Tuesday and Saturday is Hot Pink, which is their main casted drag show.
They have so many fabulous performers.
I'm happy to say that some of those people are some of my best friends out here.
(47:48):
I'm so proud of what they're doing for Hot Pink. You can also catch The Winner
of Work, which is every Thursday at Saloon.
And that is also another drag competition where they have a panel of judges
that will give you their true opinion. I do think we need it more when it comes to newcomer shows.
We need shows for new performers and not just talent nights.
(48:11):
People, maybe, perhaps. Exactly right.
Shows for new performers, not just a competition or talent night.
Yeah. That's why I dropped off the scene for as long as I did,
because I felt like the only thing available to me was competitions.
But they're good for you to practice on the stage. I will always say that people
don't realize the power of practicing your performance.
(48:32):
And if you get an opportunity to, just because I said there need to be more
shows, please continue to do them. It's good practice.
If I wasn't where I was at, trust me, I would still be trying to hit a talent
night here and there. And I'm not going to lie, I'm 40 something.
So if I didn't make it to work, bitch was going to retire.
I'm going to play in that. But like still get out there and do those shows.
Do those shows. Give yourself a chance on stage. Continuing on at Saloon.
(48:53):
So, again, please check out the Saloon website so you can go see these shows
because they have so many fabulous shows over there.
Besides Work and Hot Pink, they also have Gender X, which is the non-gender
conforming performance show.
That they have over there, Queerdo, which, if I'm not mistaken,
is run by my good friend Ginny Rattel.
And then they have Ghoulfriends, which is produced by the fabulous Nocturnal Emission.
(49:19):
So again, check out the Saloon website and get the dates on that.
Over at the Gay 90, starting on Wednesdays is So You Think You Can Drag,
which is yet another drag competition show.
However, as far as I know... It's changing hosts.
Yes. So it was recently run by Dexterity, who is moving away.
We'll miss you, Dex. We love you. And I have not heard who's the new host. It's Bad Karma.
(49:42):
Oh, OK. Give it up for Karma. I love Bad Karma. That's my girl.
Obviously, every Thursday through Sunday is the Ladies of La Femme,
which is the main drag show over at the Gay 90s.
And that's ran by Mercedes Iman Diamond, along with Anya Deke.
And we have a number of other shows, like the burlesque shows that go on there once a month.
We also have a new show by Sweet Pea. It's burlesque karaoke.
(50:05):
You're singing karaoke and you got a burlesque dancer behind you.
That's hot, boo. That's grown and sexy. What?
That's banging. Coming soon. It will be a pre-show right before the Ladies of
the Femme. I'm looking forward to it. I think it starts at like 8. She told me.
I'm good. It's Sweet Pea produced it. I'm looking forward to it.
It sounds fun. it's different that is different and
(50:27):
i think we need more different things here in the city you were
just talking about new and different yeah i
love that sweet piece doing it like good job diva
i'm looking forward to this i'm looking forward to yep give me more and last
is roxy's right downtown roxy's has something going on every single day so if
you are bored need to get out it might be it not be a drag show but there's
(50:50):
something to do yeah unless it's It's raining and it's like, stay indoors.
No, people go out still. Well, not if they shut down the facilities. Oh, the power went out.
Okay. You know what? That's an insight. Unforeseen. Yeah.
Unforeseen. No. Anybody who knows, last week, part of downtown Minneapolis, the power went out.
(51:11):
And unfortunately, Roxy's was caught in that. Oh, see, I didn't know Saloon was out of there.
So that's a pretty big part of downtown. So that whole part of the grid went
down. I have to look more into that. That's crazy.
Friday through Sunday, there is a drag show each and every night.
The one thing I do want to point out is that the first Saturday of every month
is Dolls, which is produced by Genevieve Ramona Love.
(51:34):
Please make sure to check it out. Having said that, please go to the Roxy's website and check out.
Like I said, they have something to do every single day of the week. Go and look.
Don't forget about Blackhearts. I mean, Blackhearts doesn't really have anything
on their website as far as shows.
I don't even know the shows over there. I hate that, though.
I'm going to do my research, y'all, because I want to make sure we plug in all
of our people in our community producing these wonderful shows,
(51:57):
spreading our fantastic art around this community.
I'm so excited. I'm excited about the election.
I'm excited about all this new music. I mean, damn, I'm just happy.
I'm definitely going to call this episode Lemonade with Extra Sugar.
Even though you're on a sugar-free diet. Even though I'm on a diet,
honey, this is high folks lemonade. Lemonade. The kind of lemonade that you
(52:19):
freeze up and turn into a nice freezy cup. It's delicious.
I'm done. We used to do it down South, honey. They used to do that.
The sugar like congeals on top of the ice and you scrape it off. No.
Woo. Woo. It just makes me feel like I'm home again.
Suck. I am home. I'm so happy to have the lemon squeeze here and Casa de la Casadine.
(52:41):
It has been a wonderful episode and this weed is really good.
