(00:00):
All right. Welcome, children. It is time for another episode of The Lemon Squeeze.
And today we are going to squeeze out a little of this drag race, honey.
The little bit that we know so far. I've recently started watching season 16,
or at least I'm catching up because of YouTube.
You know, anyway, before I get deep into it, I got tongue tied because,
(00:24):
again, don't forget we smoke weed while we're doing this. So we sometimes we're
scrambled and it's quite all right.
But anyway, I'm doing this episode, of course, with my wonderful co-host.
We got Mysterio Casadei.
And we have Erin, a.k.a. Mr. Stone Crazy.
It's me. And Lady could not be here today. She had an important meeting that she had to attend.
(00:48):
So shout out to you, Lady. We miss you. We love you, daughter.
Love you. But anyway, it is time to get into the squeeze of it all.
As I talked about a little earlier, I'm going to do a little drag race dishing.
At least, again, what I know. Camille is not here. She's like my drag race-ologist,
I guess, because she's much younger and she keeps up with all 20,000 of the seasons. 20,000?
(01:15):
It's like, y'all, I'm telling you, it's drag race France. It's drag race Canada.
It's drag race Mexico. Drag race Philippines.
Drag race uk is there a
dutch one too i think there is no you said
french already i think kind of covers all of
that part right i feel like a drag race australia yes drag race down under right
(01:37):
yep down under is there a drag race japan not yet but no that's that's a different
drag that's a different drag den they have a different drag den is that the
one that manila lasagna yeah Yeah, I thought it was called, like, Drag Den,
and it's like a spin between Drag Race and Dragula.
Oh, okay. So it's a little more on the campier side of things.
(01:58):
Oh, there's our Drag Race Holland up here.
Alright, Drag Race Holland. Well, as dragons all around the world and as a drag
queen myself, I'm so grateful because it's done a lot for us.
I'll say one thing that I can say about Drag Race that will always remain true
is some of the queens that were at the beginning of the, I call it the golden
(02:20):
age of Drag Race, benefited solely because I'm able to live off of Dragon.
And I will say thanks to RuPaul and a lot of these entertainers that they've
helped to make drag bigger in so many ways that it even trickles down to little old gals like me.
Hopefully one day I'll get on the show, but who knows? If not,
I'll get popular doing something else. Right.
(02:43):
Some people need TV. Some people don't. Yeah, some people don't.
Some people just got light that's bright, bright and bigger than the satellites,
honey. It's going to be seen no matter what you do.
And that's moi. Anyway, right into season 16 of RuPaul's Drag Race.
Now, like I said, I did not watch every single episode because there's so many.
(03:04):
I kind of got burnt out after season seven.
And that's shade. I did watch the season that Mercedes Iman Diamond was on, that season 11.
I watched it. And when she left, I was done. Yeah, about when I stopped.
Right. I still kind of watched a little bit because, again, there was Sugarcane
and a bunch of other entertainers that I absolutely love on there.
(03:28):
But season 16 has done a great job of reviving my love.
This season, to me, was a lot of amateur drag queens on it.
To me, this is like the first season where majority of the entertainers were
amateur. What do y'all think about that?
I would have to agree. I feel like, I mean, they're not like the big names like
we've been seeing, like pageant queens and things like that.
(03:50):
Like a lot of these, I feel like, I mean, just looking at what some of their
ages are, they're still kind of like baby queens. Yeah, some of them are new.
I think that, what's her name?
Zunami is a muse, Candy Muse's drag daughter.
So that was an open door.
And then we have Safira Cristal. I think she's a legendary queen on the East
Coast side of town. I think she's a Boston queen.
(04:12):
Oh, really? Yeah, I think so. Yeah, she's from Philadelphia.
She's from Philadelphia. So she's up there.
Plain Jane is your Boston queen. playing Jane as the Boston Queen.
And then there's a lot of New York City gals here. We got Nymphia from New York City.
We have Plasma from New York City, Tsunami Muse and Megami. They're all from
New York City. And Dawn. Wow. Dawn.
(04:34):
You know, the one thing, the gripe that I have about Drag Race,
it's like, what is wrong with the Midwestern girls?
You know, there's a lot of good talent in the Midwest.
Right. Like we got 50 states out here. Why are we only picking from two?
Yeah. I don't even see Chicago up there.
I'm going to tell you something. Chicago got some good drag over there.
Chicago and Minneapolis are highly mis-unrepresented in the drag race.
(04:58):
And we needed to get it together, drag race. Because, again,
some of these girls were newbies. And you can clearly see it.
Because I will tell you, when I saw it, because I always watch their entrances.
I love their entrances. And to me, Nymphia had a really good one.
Saphira, you've given us the classic drag race, fabulous feather look.
Some of those girls were like, not the ticket, honey.
(05:21):
Right. I wasn't a real big fan of Plain Jane, I'll tell you that right away.
She had the big tits. She was doing the Jimbo thing.
Oh, she was? Yeah, to me, she was doing the Jimbo thing. And then I guess later
in the season, she kind of went...
Another direction but when i saw plain jane i
was like i've seen so many drag queens like her like so
many and i think that's was it i actually was a
(05:42):
huge fan right away of nymphia i mean it is her name i mean just gonna say maybe
that's why she goes by plain jane she's like i'm just another plain jane oh
catchy okay no jade anyway she's in the top three though she is in the top three
Your top three are Nymphaea playing Jane and Saphira Cristal.
To me, yeah, I could see it. I see it. My winner, no shade to Saphira because I love her.
(06:07):
I think Nymphaea win should definitely win this competition.
Win and win. By a windfall. Yeah.
To me, from beginning to end, she's always had some of the best looks.
Looks and then to know that she made a
lot of her own garments to me that's a win-win i'm sorry
(06:30):
i appreciate the the drag queens who really put
a lot into the looks because that's another misleading thing about drag race
nowadays is when you go to get booked to a show a lot of people don't know this
but the first thing they tell me like it's a oh i love you sasha but i've heard
of you from drag brunches do you wear a big crazy drag like they wear on drag
race i'm like yeah Yeah, fortunately, lucky for me,
(06:52):
I work at a popular drag branch and I can afford it.
But they do because a lot of straight ladies like to watch Drag Race.
So they want what they see on TV.
They expect drag to be what Drag Race is presenting on TV.
Yeah, which makes it harder for up and coming entertainers who are trying to get in this spot.
If you don't really have the income to do it.
That's why I always tell people to enjoy drag because once you make it a career,
(07:15):
it is a career. Oh, it's expensive.
And it's expensive. expensive they don't have the money or a lot
of these girls don't have the creativity to create these looks yeah and it's
like you see this stuff on drag race and you get the crowd people who are like
oh well you don't wear this or wear that and everything and it's like well you
(07:37):
have to realize not everything you see on tv was actually the.
The queen's idea that was something
someone else made that they bought right so it
was like while she's willing to rock it
it doesn't mean that that was her idea and her aesthetic
originally because i've known plenty of queens who were playing james and then
(07:57):
they buy their first bit of really big drag and now suddenly that's all they
want to wear is big drag and a lot of designers by the way sponsor some of these
entertainers because that you got entertainers wearing your drag on TV,
then other entertainers who have the means to get that drag that's on TV,
they're going to go right there because they want those nice extravagant looks also.
(08:19):
So it's a win-win situation. And because I was told that I could be on Drag
Race, I've also had the offer of, like, if I made it, that I would have sponsoring, which I'm honored.
Yeah, that's great. So I can imagine a lot. But I think I still miss the creative
side because, fun fact, I can sew, y'all.
I just don't like to. Yeah, I've seen it happen. I'm rusty.
(08:43):
I mess up on a costume. I'm telling y'all one scene. I'm like,
I'm done with this shit. Yep. I've seen it happen. I haven't.
Aaron's been my friend for a long time. No, I get frustrated and go play video
games and I'm like, I'm just going to buy that costume. And I'm good on that.
But like, yeah, I can. So I do miss like the old school, you know,
BB kind of when they had the blurry thing going. The Vaseline lens. Yes.
(09:08):
When RuPaul didn't have no good makeup artists, boo.
They put a little transient blur but they made
their drag on that on those shows I think they made it all the
way from season one up until like season I
feel like in the beginning of Drag Race they did a
lot more creative constructive challenges yes because
they could keep the where it was like this is your sewing
(09:29):
challenge put this together make this look good or you're gonna
you know start with this leotard and make it
into something bigger you know now that's the
main reason why I kind of fell out of the
drag race universe myself because up until a certain season i
used to watch every single episode once the
show in my opinion became more about feuding
(09:52):
and conversations and shade and tea backstage and not about the challenges and
it just became more about the looks and everything it just stopped being interesting
one of my favorite things about season one bb season that That she won was that
they had some of the craziest challenges. Oh, I know.
And they did it. I would never expect B.B. Bonet to first of all,
(10:16):
go digging around in a garbage can.
But she actually got someone to eat trash out of her hand on the street.
You know it wasn't really trash.
No, I know it wasn't real. But she made them think that. Yeah.
Made them think. And I know we mentioned this on a few episodes back.
But like, this is why I like that you brought it up.
Because it was, I think it was meant to be like the power of persuasion.
Like drag queens have the gift of persuading people to tip them and to do things
(10:40):
so let's see if you could and if you can get multiple people to do I think Bebe
won that challenge didn't she?
I think she did too yeah cause she's very persuasive I'm a rune I love me some Bebe y'all I'm a rune but.
I miss it, but I miss that. I hate the Rusicals. I would love to be on the show,
but the Rusicals would not be my favorite.
(11:01):
I would hope that she finally has no more Rusicals to put on because those are
the ones that I'm just like dying watching.
Yeah, some of them are torturous, honey.
Holiday ones she did a couple years ago, I'm like, this is crap.
Yeah. Yeah, that's why a bitch be looking at clips on YouTube,
(11:21):
honey, because I just my favorite thing on the runways. But,
you know, we got out of that musical.
Oh, a rocket to T.T. Ta-ta.
I'm Boosie, bitch. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. See, boy, see,
boy. Legendary. You're not lying, Aaron. That was legendary.
But when they have to write their own musical and do the talent stuff, I live for that now.
(11:42):
It's the the little musical things that
they put together with those cheesy people singing it because
i'm i don't know what it is when i lip sync a song i want it to feel like it
comes out of my mouth except when i work drag brunch because i have to do taylor
swift and i don't look like no dang taylor swift honey but baby in my head it's
(12:03):
me hi problem hey honey look what you made me do.
I had a blonde hair and everything on, honey. But like I just,
the musicals would just drive me up the wall.
This new season, back to season 16 though, I will say one thing.
(12:23):
I appreciated how talented the entertainers were.
It was a bit on the catty side at the same time. Plain Jane seemed like she
was always stirring the pot.
I would love to get into a reading match with girls like that.
I think those seasons are made for me.
When you get people like Candy Muse and all them girls who like to read, because I like to read.
I like to use my words, make your ass mad, and feel like you're about to blow
(12:47):
up over there and sit there calmly.
Because I could take a read just like I could this way. I like the reading.
I wish there was more opportunities for queens to read or even entertainers in general to read.
If it was genuine to me, I think I could accept it. Versus like the reading challenge.
Yeah. They can say that because it's like, I don't want to do that.
I want you to be trying to talk. And I want it to be off the top of your head
(13:10):
as we're having this conversation. Yeah. And I want you to read me that way.
I don't want you to do your homework and write a book. Because,
boo, you better not have a hair out of place when you read me.
Because I'm going to make your ass think something else.
Because reading is the art of deception, boo. I want to make you, I want to unnerve you.
But one of my favorites, I call her gone too soon on this show, I love Mirage.
(13:37):
I had the pleasure of working with her at one of the shows here in Minneapolis.
She's a absolute gem. So entertaining.
The bitch literally sat down, y'all, in a flower. It was a tip bucket. Was it not, yo?
Was it not a tip bucket she was in at Quincy Hall?
Yes, I think it was. Sat in a tip bucket and spinned around in it.
(13:59):
Like, sat her booty in a tip bucket, spinned around in it on the corner of the
stage and did not fall. I thought for sure that bitch was going to fall one time. Stressful.
Stressful. Who works the stage? Who works the show? That was so stressful. It was Mirage.
She's like a damn cat. Yeah, she's like a cat, honey. I missed that show. She's amazing.
(14:19):
She's like one of my favorites, but I had the pleasure of meeting her, Geneva Carr, and Q.
They were all fabulous, but Mirage, I'm telling you, that thing is like,
she's amazing. She'll go a long way.
It's not even just the way she performs. She's so humble, and she was easy to
talk to. So was Geneva and Q.
They were amazing as well. Q had some amazing drag.
(14:40):
Hair, from head to toe, amazing.
Geneva also was fabulous. Wonderful personality.
I really enjoyed that this season had a lot of entertainers that I could totally
see myself hanging out with after a show. That was my favorite thing. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Definitely. Definitely and even from like when I used to drive a lot of these
(15:01):
girls around from events in the cities here Like they're a lot of them are some sweet people.
Oh, yeah Yeah And now that very fun That is definitely the other thing a lot
of the girls and we know it's editing and we know it's the producers and everything
A lot of the girls come off way cat ear than they actually are.
They're really sweet They're actually really weak and it's like you start to
realize that these girls are being made to be bitchy on the show and,
(15:24):
For entertainment and entertainment. Yeah. Cause I disliked it.
Like, even though I said plain Jane, you know, she was, I just not like, I didn't dislike her.
I thought that she was very smart and she played the game and she went on there
to make good TV. And she did just that. And she looks beautiful.
It's not that she didn't look beautiful. Even though I said,
I seen me at multiple Queens like her. I love her personality.
(15:45):
I like that. She's strong. I like that. She doesn't mind shaking the table.
I enjoyed that about her.
Who else? I enjoyed. I, I love Maya Iman LePage.
What a beast of a performer. Did not like her drag looks on that show.
Iman, is she related to an Iman?
Yeah, she's related to an Iman and a LePage.
(16:07):
Yeah, that's a fabulous name. Yeah, it is. Yeah, she has two legendary names.
And the bitch can perform her ass off. Because I'm not big in the pageant scene,
but is LePage big in the pageant? He is also big in LePage. Yep. Okay.
Yep. She's Deva Lepage as a former Miss Continental.
Like, yeah, I think she's won Black America, Miss Black Universe.
(16:28):
Yeah, very legendary entertainer in the pageant world.
And Maya represents well. I don't think her drag looks were the ticket on the
show, though. Some of her runways were questionable.
She had to lip sync a few times, but she sent bitches home.
Hacking. If you have not seen her perform, Miss Thing is on by y'all.
(16:48):
Love her. far can i just i i feel really bad
because like it does suck camille's not here because again
camille is like our drag race guru yeah
because she goes to the viewing party she does all that ain't nobody
i ain't got time for me she'll she'll just bring up drag race just in conversation
and i'll be like girl sis i'm i'm not the best person i'm a busy gal like when
(17:08):
it comes to drag race like i'd love to be like more in depth i try to keep up
with as much as i can because again i I love these girls. They're putting themselves
out there on national TV.
A lot of these girls get hate mail. You know, my sister Mercedes said she went
through a lot, you know, being the first Muslim drag queen on TV on the show.
(17:29):
She went through a lot. I respect and love all of them.
Even people like Candy, who I know that, you know, I got to meet.
Like, that was the thing about these shows. They're just TV shows.
We have to appreciate the art and the work that they're doing.
And putting themselves out there like that, because it's not easy when you have,
and I'm sure the producers, none of them do drag.
(17:51):
So they don't understand. They go through a lot of pressure.
They get locked up in damn rooms. I heard all kinds of shit about Drag Race.
So kudos to these chicks. This was a very good season. I love that more people got along.
I appreciate all the different styles of drag. That is the beauty of Drag Race.
For a queen like me who started back in 19 when, I'm not going to say because I'm older.
(18:15):
But they've also helped me to stay modern and keep growing as an entertainer
and seeing all of this change that is happening in drag that I want to be a part of it until I can't,
you know stand up in pumps anymore because when i
can't wear heels bitch that's what i'm hanging that shit right you will not
catch me out in in flats and trying to perform sorry you won't you won't be
(18:37):
doing this in your retirement years no ma'am i'll do the podcast y'all could
pretend i'm in a week oh they don't know you're not in a week right now oh,
And I have a long Beyonce blonde platinum all the way down to my ankles,
honey. This ain't Tazzy.
She's blowing in the wind. And my lashes are so long, they're touching.
(19:02):
Mysterio cast it out across the room over there.
Yes, baby. I am giving. I was going to ask you if you could move those out of
the way, please. Oh, sorry, honey. I'm sorry.
This is chinchilla. I'm just playing. but anyway
season 16 phenomenal i love
it if you have not seen the lala i
get tongue-tied saying it they said
(19:25):
it was the most watched drag race episode because
the finale doesn't come out until tomorrow today
because the episode comes out on friday tonight we record
it on today thursday but it's coming out i can't
wait to see who wins i'm i'm rooting rooting for nymphia but they said
the the lip sync smackdown was amazing
(19:46):
i saw clips i definitely will
be sitting and watching more of it but was not disappointed
i i liked it they did that because i think this was
the first one they had like a big lip sync smackdown right
yeah it was i have to go back and watch i've seen bits
and pieces of it clips yeah but before we
switch your top three or nymphia when playing jane
(20:06):
and sapphire sapphira crystal yeah they were
my top three when we started remember yep i remember
when i looked i was like i think this one this one yeah if you can if you go
back and you heard an episode please let me know but i i pretty much had already
picked my top three out on your top three who you're gonna think you're gonna
be number one who's gonna win it yeah i think between sapphira and nymphia.
(20:30):
But I want, I think Nymphia will take it, but I really strongly think Saphir
is like big on that list too.
But I want Nymphia. I'm not going to lie. Like Nymphia's drag is just.
And Nymphia was never in the bottom.
Never. And her drag was. And she won three times and she was safe the rest.
And very versatile too. I loved how she was able to just capture some.
(20:51):
Q also gets the kudos for that too. Q was great. Q made it to the top four.
I just appreciated the versatility of their drag. I love love love nymphia and
I love Q's drag to like the other girls I'll somebody drag a question question
big old question mark question.
Oh, sorry up the mic big old question mark, honey Especially like what's her
(21:15):
name? Amanda touring meeting?
Amanda baby if they didn't work that girl
on their head When they put her
if she had that purple makeup on I was like
boo they did not they wanted you to go home for sure
y'all and this time they said we're not even finna rig
it we're gonna show y'all in true because y'all know they photoshopped
some of them girls i'm sure they had to they had to but
(21:38):
miss thing they said let me show you this bitch and glorious technicolor oh
child let me knock on wood because i want my makeup to look bad this weekend
but baby whoo honey but this you would never know it from like this picture
that i'm I'm looking at right here.
Her makeup is like dusted, dusted.
(22:00):
But that shows you what good Photoshopping do nowadays.
Oh, yeah. You got to be more careful. Also, I'm looking forward to All Stars, y'all.
Now, I'm going to make sure I watch that. I love All Stars. I will be watching All Stars.
Well, rumor has it.
I'm not going to tell you, but I think they said the tea is that Roxy might win this.
(22:23):
This let's see we have roxy we have
plastic tiara we have yeah plastics
on there too i'm excited have they
released the cast list because y'all know what season eight yeah yet
season nine nine yeah speaking of all stars before we we digging up this information
i got to meet lala ru us absolute treat the crowd loved her lalary i'm sorry
(22:48):
lala ru she was a treat she was a treat I liked working with her very quiet to backstage.
She said like, she was just wanting to be in her Zen. I get it girl.
But she was nice. She was very nice. I really, I really, if the rumor of stars
nine is to be believed true, this will be the smallest cast of an all-star season to date. Oh, wow.
(23:10):
And you know, the other T about that is none of them will be eliminated this season.
And allegedly, allegedly they got a costume budget. and I know the other girls are like, big, yes.
This is the one that we've been hearing about. Yeah, this is the one,
but see, the one I'm happy about this one,
I feel like it should not be an elimination with all stars because I want to
(23:35):
see the looks like that's like my favorite thing about this.
So like instead of being eliminated, you're judged and scored every week.
And then they pick a winner at the end of the show.
It's probably why the cast is smaller this time, too, by the way.
So it's going to run a pageant style. It's going to be a pageant on TV.
(23:55):
I'm ready, honey. I also heard that they were thinking of, is it this season's
finale will be live or is it the next season?
I think this season allegedly will be live.
Like they're going to do some live aspects. Yeah, I think so. I think so.
I think so. It'll be interesting. I'm looking forward to all stars.
(24:15):
I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to the finale tomorrow.
Definitely going to watch.
And then when Camille comes, we're going to do a nice little drag recap because,
again, she's more of a dragologist in that way.
She watches it a lot deeper than we do. I'd just be too busy.
Like when I think about watching it, I'd be too busy worrying about my own drag.
(24:36):
But we watched the first, I would say we watched the first seven.
I used to be dedicated. We watched it before it was popular. Yeah.
And now that it's become popular, we don't want to do it. We kind of. Because you know what?
Sometimes you can just catch the rig and you can see, especially like when you start working with.
Because my line of work, I'm flip phone events, so I work with a lot of them.
Right i get a lot of juicy tidbits that i will not be spilling on this podcast
(25:00):
just yet without their permission but i do know that you know they it's just
a lot sometimes for them it's a lot.
It'll be interesting and then yesterday alexis mateo dropped some news out on
the internet went live yeah she said that yeah you can go on her instagram she
(25:20):
was talking a couple days ago,
she was talking about issues with some we don't
know but it's with someone
and it's not alleged because the tea is out there she said
is she had issues with someone she somewhere she worked in
vegas that she felt like they were taking her for granted and a part of and
beyond and she felt like the treatment was well and she said basically she felt
(25:43):
i know y'all think you're dragging it's fun But you can't just treat us any
kind of way like so she's supposed to go live Today is Thursday.
So I saw that you go like when she's supposed to go live today.
Yeah. Yeah, so she goes live then who knows?
I might might go on live on Instagram and talk about it.
Who knows with with some of y'all that might be fun Yeah, and just talk about
(26:06):
the tea, honey, but I'm interested because the one thing about drag is I.
And probably it's true that a lot of people take it serious because, again,
a lot of performers want to be a part of it so bad that they take these shows
and these gigs without making sure that it's going to be well-financed and well
(26:30):
put together for its performers.
And in order to do that, you have to sell tickets.
So we don't get a lot of good treatment sometimes. And I'm not going to say
we, because I feel like I'm in a really different place, but I do see a lot of shows do that.
So I can take it when you go into their world where they're dealing with casinos
and bigger things that are like, you're no Mariah Carey, you're no Beyonce,
(26:51):
you're just popular now for a moment.
I can see them being taken for granted and not being treated in the proper way.
That's why I was like, we have to, like, as entertainers, learn to work with
each other more and better so that we can create some safety nets for us in
these industries to make them respect our art.
(27:12):
Because, again, we may not be Beyonce's or Britney Spears' or Mariah Carey's,
but like, hey, we help to sell records for some of these bitches at some of these shows.
And we are more, some of us, some of these Rue girls are more popular than some of them girls are now.
Oh, yeah. You know, and don't get paid as much or don't get offered the same
(27:32):
endorsement deals. It's just art.
And I think art still has to be respected, whether it's a Beyonce or Taylor
Swift or a Sophia Cristal or even a mandatory meeting.
Like, it just needs to be respected. So I'm looking forward to seeing what Alexis
Mateo has to say about this because, I mean, I'm here for it. I am enthralled.
(27:55):
I'm here for it. I will definitely be watching that. My cup is ready with sugar
in it, honey, and a spoon to stir it. I'm ready.
Yeah. She said whatever is going to be said is going to hurt and make a lot of people mad.
Ooh. So it's interesting because she's saying it from like a place of truth.
So it's like, that's serious.
(28:17):
Well, I'm looking forward to come down. I'm also looking forward to DragCon
this year, which is July 19th. Yeah.
July 20th. I'm supposed to work a booth for a friend.
I want to confirm before I say it on the show, because I don't want to be saying
I'm working for this thing, and I don't like doing that.
So I want to make sure I get all my ducks in a row first.
(28:39):
But it is July the 19th and July the 20th in L.A.
What convention center was that again? It's the convention center.
I think it's the only one. I forget the name of it. I think it's...
Greg just told me the name of it but anyway you can find the information online
just go to rupaul's dragon we was gonna find it for you but we got high oh that's what happened yeah,
(29:06):
and then now they have drag race i'm gonna have
to go to drag con uk one day it's 2025 for
drag race uk i'm not going
to take a trip on the convention center oh yeah the los
angeles convention center and yeah i will be
going this yeah but uk that would be fun
uk would be amazing yeah i just would like to see how it's
(29:27):
ran like how differently it's ran oh my
god oh they got raja over there looking like nosferatu
she does people love raja i'm just not honey i don't see raja is fabulous to
somebody but like i just i'm not honey i'm not i'm not i'm more of like a big
(29:48):
huge i love I love Trixie Mattel.
I love Jaden, your fierce sugar cane, BB.
I love Mercedes. I wonder if I'm in this year, LA.
I know I would love to. I would love to. They stopped telling you a few years ago.
Yeah, they showed up because some of them girls don't show up. I don't blame them.
(30:10):
They're like, we're not going to do it. The website has gotten better.
The website. I remember this was looking a little cheeky, darling.
Darling is that silky over there looking fabulous she's over there looking fabulous
she looks beautiful i love yeah yeah she looks great that's brooklyn but anyway
july 19th july 20th i will be there whether or not i'll be working a booth who
(30:32):
knows but i will certainly,
be there i'm looking forward to chilling out and chatting it up with some of my drag race
sisters and friends speaking of
drag race friends i'd like
to think we are all still cool with each other even though i don't get to talk
to them a lot we're here has a new cast and the reason why i like this show
(30:55):
it's a very good show if you don't know it's about three beautiful individuals
going in communities and challenging people's point of views and also learning a few
things along the way. It's a beautiful show.
I had the privilege of watching it when Eureka and Shangela and Bob the drag
queen, which this show made me fall in love with Bob, Bob, the drag queen.
(31:17):
Like this was like my, where I grew my love for Bob.
And I've always loved Shangela. And I also love Eureka.
I got to chill out with Eureka in her house and she made, they made lasagna
and we ate salads and we all chatted. Like it was wonderful.
And I got to see some of the drag that she wore on the TV show.
(31:38):
The show. That'd be so amazing.
Oh yeah. Her drag room is like next level. I'm like, she has a very housing.
Fabulous. Honey. Yeah. Her house alone.
Her little palace was fabulous. I not going to spill her all her details.
Cause that's her house. But Eureka has a beautiful home and a beautiful set
of humans that are there to help her along the journey.
(31:59):
Beautiful, beautiful person. Because she understands it's a team to make all
of it. He does. And that's exactly what she said. Southern gal, honey.
I'm a southern gal. We love our teams. We love our support systems.
Because you do need a team, especially when you have big dreams.
Yes. You have to have somebody there that's going to be able to lift you up
when that stuff becomes heavy for you.
Because well and you have to have somebody there to help you get through it
(32:22):
through the work yeah because it gets tough
sometimes when you're trying to actually create a brand in
dragon and again shout out to the rupaul drag race
everything because this gave us an
opportunity to do stuff like this if
you haven't seen we're here check it out it's on hv
on max the new cast is jada the essence hall priyanka latrice royale sasha velour
(32:47):
also amazing entertainers i got to meet and work with them all that i think
that's going to be a really good mixture of me too queens because they all are
so different in my mind even though i don't know much about priyanka.
Yeah priyanka's the only one i don't really know much yeah i don't know what season
was she on priyanka's from the canada's drag
race god okay she won the
(33:10):
wow are they trying maybe this is them trying to
give canada more of exposure i guess because that's like
i'm not of the biggest canada drag race i don't
dislike it but like yeah i don't watch
i haven't even watched that much i love brooklyn heights but i just haven't
watched that much right yeah oh my god he's beautiful i think i mean it's just
the drag is different up in canada i've stones i sell stones to a lot of the
(33:34):
girls up in canada oh wonderful some of the queens i also feel like i sold to one of somebody
that's on a new show because they had a big deadline.
One of my costume designers lives in Canada.
Oh, really? Yeah, I'm high, girl. I will shout you out. I know.
I promise you, girl. She would be like, Sasha, Annabelle. Yeah, I'm so sorry.
(33:59):
Super, super stoned, so it's not going to be that simple right now.
But she's a young one from Canada, which I think bringing Thor into the mix
this next season then it's going to be a very good.
I wondered about that, but I don't see anything wrong with it.
It's just less screen time for somebody. Yeah, I think it will spread out even.
(34:22):
Because Latrice, I got to compete against Latrice a long time ago.
She is a fabulous human, for real. She is.
She is. Like 100%, when I see her out in the world, she doesn't forget your
face. She's not like one of them drag race girls.
So does girls like Jada, too, and Shangi. Like the girls that don't forget you,
(34:43):
Latrice is definitely that girl. I got to compete against her.
For your surveyor at large. What a treat to see her on TV.
I'm glad that they put her in the mix because she's an older queen. She can offer a lot.
She'll know how to relate to a lot of people. This is going to be a good season.
I'm sad to see Eureka and Shangela and Bob go, but I'm totally looking forward to this season.
(35:06):
Congratulations, new girl. But I think it's good to say it's kind of a new trend.
Oh, yeah. Rotating out hosts on shows. Oh, yeah.
Now rotating out judges yeah i mean
yeah i love bob eureka and shangela you talk
about drag race i'm sorry oh okay i thought she's i thought we
got madison now we still talk about this show sorry oh yeah
(35:27):
i i love bob eureka shangela but i feel like actually they should have switched
to more queens there's enough of them now for them to have done it a different
a different queen every season right but i'll say this though i guess it was
because it it became clear it's their show it's It's not a RuPaul's drag race show.
Yeah. We're here. It's we're here.
(35:47):
We are. And again, that nice, the RuPaul's light keeps shining.
You know, mother, honey, she keeps shining bright and creating and helping to
open these doors for all sorts of beautiful humans that back in the day,
we would have never got to get these kinds of platforms.
So even if it's not me, man, I feel like it's me on TV when I see these other
(36:09):
beautiful divas representing
our queer community especially with
drag showing people that it's art and there's
beautiful people behind it now do you think totally off
the cusp do you think the reason why shangela
and eureka and others got replaced is because of shangela's allegations or do
you think that they were just like we're going to move on anyway oh my goodness
(36:31):
first of all i'm so glad you asked that because i that was like on the question
i personally feel like yes it has a little bit to do with it.
But how long had they announced the new hosts?
Like how long ago did they actually release it? It seems like I just found out that T.
(36:52):
That's what I'm saying. I don't know if it's been recent. That's what I'm saying.
Shangela's business was recent.
So I was like, I feel like. I think behind the scenes, they probably reached
out to Jada and them a long time ago.
And I think they probably did like maybe some stuff, interviews and just saw
if they were going to be a good fit. And they're like, okay,
yeah, let's do this. let's do another season because this is what season four,
yeah season four season four now yeah.
(37:14):
Well, I'm going to miss the other gals, though. Yeah, I'm going to miss them, too.
Like I said before, Shangela was definitely one of my favorites.
She's always been one of my favorite drag queens. So that's why I started watching We're Here.
And then it turned out to just be like a really good show. Hmm.
Damn. I'm going to miss the old girls, but congratulations to the new girl.
(37:35):
Ready for her. I'm excited to see Jada. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I cannot wait to see Jada. Jada's amazing to work with, too.
We worked at a few shows together.
She's great. I'm so happy for them but anyway let's keep it moving with multi

All right. Welcome back from our quick break and a word for us.
Don't be laughing, Liz. I'm already high enough.
Anyway, y'all, I'm so excited.
This weekend is finally Country Carter Drag Brunch, a.k.a. Beyonce Act 2.
I'm excited. Got me some cute looks. Daiquiri defiled my drag daughter.
(40:13):
Her husband is making me an outfit from one of Beyonce's photo shoots.
It's so cute. I have to show you, Aaron, while you're in the room.
Your country number. Yeah.
But this is just for me to host in, by the way. That's nice.
I'm so geeked. I am like, Beyonce is mother to me, honey. I love her so much.
But speaking of my love for Beyonce, Beyonce ain't getting no love from the Grand Ole Opry, honey.
(40:39):
They said she is banned for life because Beyonce wasn't country.
That's crazy. Crazy, right? I would never, first of all, I would never have
guessed that they would have gone so far out of their way to tell this woman that.
And the fact that they're trying
to basically tell beyonce that she is not
(41:02):
and cannot be country because it's like what is
country honey like why are we
like literally gatekeeping country now gatekeeping country
how does that even work they're gatekeeping it because they're they're color
gatekeeping it there we go there we go because i think my take on this is because
if She already said that she was not releasing a country, country album.
(41:28):
She said, this is Beyonce doing country.
That means country inspired this album.
I don't think for the life of me, Beyonce even care about performing at the
Grand Ole Opry, by the way. Oh, of course not. No.
She's definitely bigger than that, I feel like.
I feel like with the level that she has made it to in the industry,
(41:49):
the Grand Ole Opry is like, okay, girl. Because it's like a damn museum now, honey.
Like the Grand Opera, like no shade to Dolly.
I love me some Dolly Parton, but who's famous that cares about going to the Grand Opera at this day?
There was a channel through, you know, celebrity when you were doing country
to play there was a huge deal back in those days.
(42:12):
But Beyonce, like I can honestly say, I don't think she cares at all if she
performs at the Grand Opera. As a matter of fact, this place looks kind of small.
Well, this isn't a Beyonce concert style venue. No. This is like,
I'm going to go to church.
But I think what's disgusting is that they went out of their way to try to say
(42:32):
that she was banned for life.
Yeah, that's crazy too. It is insane. So even if she writes the perfect country
song tomorrow, she still can't play there because you already are just done with her.
That's always like, why would they say that? Banned for life?
Well, she has some beautiful, like I love her and Miley's song together.
Oh, yeah, I like that. It is so beautiful. Yeah, it's like...
(42:54):
That song is beautiful. I can see it being played beautifully in a country hall.
But again, this is the age of social media, the digital age.
She'd do better just going on and getting her own venue, booking it out and
playing in front of a camera.
At this point, don't she? She could build her own stadium and have it like the
Grand Ole Opry is banned from Beyonceville.
(43:18):
I don't know. I don't think they understand what they're going to do to themselves
because a lot of people love Beyonce. Beyonce, right?
Like, think of the swarm. They're country music lovers also like Beyonce, too, right?
So it's like, think about the backlash that that's going to have.
Well, and you know they're going to say that this wasn't done in a racial way
because there have been people of color to play at the Grand Ole Opry.
(43:40):
They're just saying Beyonce's album is not country. And I think this just shows
the small-mindedness of people who are in the music industry.
I'd be honored that Beyonce was inspired by country music.
I think she did a good job. I love this album. Yes, it is not like 100% country,
but it is fabulous, honey. It is. Miss Honey.
(44:01):
Like, Beyonce is talented. I'm sorry.
To me, she's like the Michael Jackson of this time.
Like, when it comes to like the way she thinks about music.
Yeah, she is. Because Beyonce is, because what do we get now?
When we think about music now, no shade to these artists, But they're making
two-minute songs enough to fill a TikTok to get a dance or a moment.
(44:25):
Beyonce is like making albums that can go well with visuals, content. It has a story.
Like, you just don't get that kind of stuff. When I think about Beyonce,
she thinks about her albums.
She, oh, she's an artist. She literally builds an entire world around her album.
Yes. She doesn't just write a song. She gives you everything.
(44:45):
You know why the songs are shorter now than what they used to be? Why?
Because of streaming. You get paid per stream. So if the song is shorter,
I'll listen to it more in one hour. Ah, versus.
Versus 10 minutes or eight minute songs we used to get back in the day.
Well, I'm grateful that Beyonce still gives us like full moments.
(45:06):
This is why I love her. I think the Grand Ole Opry, they don't know what they're missing, honey.
Because I would be honored for Beyonce to play in my venue. But it says it's
got deep roots in country and rock.
Yeah so maybe if the rumors are true and the rock album is next this is the
second punch they're gonna say she's not they're gonna say he's not rock enough.
(45:31):
Beyonce's not they're gonna say we already banned you once they might as well
say they don't want beyonce black ass in the grand opera that's all they gotta
say yeah it's gross to me again what do we we we can't expect anything less
when we know that the people who own this,
probably are not the i don't know
it's just it's the board that is still stuck in
(45:52):
their old way yeah because there's a lot of old people just like this country
and we ain't going into politics is ran by old people with jaded messed up views
about the world and the way things work this is a country of of color we have
to get past this small-minded racism in order for things to
flourish because Dolly Parton.
(46:15):
A country legend said, you know what?
I'm going to work with Beyonce because she respects her as an artist.
That's a beautiful thing. Why wouldn't anybody want to capture that at the grand old Opry?
It's, I just don't know. It's egregious. It is egregious.
And I hate it. And we just have to start working together as a,
and be more diverse and accept the diversity and culture and lifestyle.
(46:39):
Style and the way that people want to
go about in life yeah if america can
get to that point to aaron i think
this country would flourish in so many ways that other countries have yet to
even if we just let people be people and quit judging prejudging anything and
(46:59):
just let people be people it'd be a better place and just listen to her music
just to be listening to it like Like,
you know, yeah, it's not a country, country.
Because I guess when you think of country, because to me, the Dixie Chicks.
Do you know how many times I can listen to it in one day? Yeah, same.
24 times. Same. And my favorite song, Beyonce's Country.
One of my favorite songs is I Love Bodyguard. That's like my jam.
(47:23):
Bodyguard. Yeah, because I can
just see myself riding a car with the top down, with my hair in the wind.
Or maybe with a cowboy hat on with a, because she said cigarette,
but I would have a joint or a blunt hanging out of my bum.
Your 24 inch or your 48 inch platinum. 48 inch platinum. There you go.
With my hair, with a nice little paisley scarf around my neck,
(47:45):
honey, and some fabulous sunglasses, some Ray-Bans.
That sounds fabulous, but this ain't Texas.
It's Minnesota. That's why I said this is my imagination, honey.
When I listen to, that's why I like the album so much. I can imagine things listening to it.
I can feel her feelings on, you know, 16 Carriages.
(48:07):
And it's just great. Oh, man. You really been listening. You know all the song titles. I love her.
Beyonce, anybody who know anything about Sasha Kastanian, I literally cried
at the concert. She didn't even start singing yet.
She didn't even show up. She walked out and I was like, Greg turned around.
(48:28):
I was like, you're already crying.
I'm like, I love that lady.
I really hope that I can put myself in a place to where I can just tell her
how much I love her. Nothing else. I don't want anything.
I just want to tell her that there is music that you have brought out in the
world that has made me one of the best drag performers in my community.
(48:50):
Because once upon a time, I believe I was this bitch.
Like, I love Beyonce. Beyonce, like she's just, girl, you're going to make me cry on the podcast.
It's the weed, y'all. Trust me. It's the weed. No, it'll be my mission next time to make her see me.
I know, right? You're going to be the one on the YouTube videos the next day.
I just want her to read my sign, honey. I'm going to say, this ain't Texas.
(49:16):
I love you, Beyonce. I love you. I just hate that this.
And I can guarantee you one thing. Beyonce does not,
care about this was just
a good story because they got the Grand Ole Opry a little press honey I can
guarantee you that Grand Ole just because people certainly like we just did
(49:37):
now they went and looked this place up oh I know everybody usually look this
up it's a beautiful venue I just hate that they were there their board is small minded like that.
It's huge what a shame what a shame Beyonce we love you we love you girl did you guys hear about the,
(49:58):
Dubai flood. Oh, I saw a picture on.
So me, I wake up in the morning and I get on Tik TOK and I saw this video of
this guy and it looks like in a kayak and he pulled a cat off of a handle.
Baby. The cat was stressed. Oh my God. The cat was so, it was just hanging on
the handle. Poor cat was just hanging on.
(50:20):
It's not funny, but I guess it's not. I think it's this video right here. Crazy.
It's crazy. Yeah. Yeah, the few videos I saw all looked pretty bad.
And I read that it was bad compared to, you know, normal circumstances,
but it wasn't as horrifying as.
Dubai is just not flood ready. No. Yeah. Like Dubai is a region where it like
(50:42):
sees one inch of rain a year.
Yeah. And like in a course of two days, it got 75 years worth of precipitate rain. Yeah.
Great. So it's weird. but what they're saying and or what's going on is that
there was like a cloud seating.
Cloud some scientists did that's some
(51:03):
shit that we see on like sci-fi netflix it is
and it's crazy and i dove down the rabbit hole and i was looking into it and
it it's been something that's been around for a while yeah they've been doing
cloud sitting for quite a while or trying it's been in practice i guess i never
really stopped to think that it actually is working right and it's It's like
(51:23):
the one thing I am afraid of is like,
you know, we can't stop Mother Nature from hurricanes.
We can't stop tornadoes. We can't stop things. But it's like this thing here,
what they thought was going to do was just drop a little bit of rain,
flooded an entire city that doesn't get rain.
This is insane. Like you, we've like went to a whole new level when we say,
(51:44):
you know what, let's control the weather. The weather.
Yeah. Yeah, and they tried and it got out of control because we're not meant to control the weather.
Seed and cloud seeding. For us people who...
Don't understand cloud seeding mysterious i'm
sure or you aaron i'm sure one of y'all have like explain it
(52:05):
i'm not sure how the exact science work but apparently
there's a process to make clouds drop
more rain than they would before evaporating so your your cloud you know because
everyone knows that rain comes from clouds it's mist in the air that condenses
and then falls to the ground So I guess a lot of that will evaporate before
(52:28):
it actually hits the ground or rains.
They've come up with technology to make more fall and make heavier droplets
so that more actually hits the ground.
It's like freezing the clouds, essentially, to keep the water frozen still coming from the sky.
Well, there you go. That makes sense. That's craziness. you know right now I
(52:51):
don't have much to say because I'm high as hell about this I am too other than
this is just crazy interesting,
so am I supposed to be sad about the flood in Dubai because everybody I don't
know it's not that bad are you supposed to be sad or is well it's a rich city
honey they gonna clean that up they probably got some mega vacuum water vac
hidden somewhere ready to suck up all the water in Dubai,
(53:15):
because it's it's Dubai honey who knows I see.
Yeah, they create more particles for the clouds to attach to in the air.
So it's literally carrying around more water.
Ah, well, I think this is good. One, because it could help out like people with
farms and people who actually need stuff like this. But like in Dubai, like...
(53:38):
I don't know. Weird. Weird. It's interesting.
I guess they got the money to do it, so let's feed clouds nowadays,
I guess. Okay, now a plot twist.
It's actually the world's first supervillain trying out their major world weapon.
This sounds like some James Bond shit. From Awesome Powers?
(53:58):
Yeah, this sounds like some James Bond shit. Or Dr. Evil. Okay.
Cloud seeding, honey. Yes. Well, let me spread some seeds because my mind,
I'm too high to think about them.
