The Love’s Playbook Podcast The Bible as the Story of an All-good God

Don’t have time to read the Bible? Can’t understand it? Here it is written as a story for adults that reads like a novel. The story of an all-good God. Listen and fall in love. My version has characters who are fleshed out with carefully researched backstory because they were people like us. I wanted to slow the stories down, make them come to life with characters you can relate to. People like you--people you can identify with and remember. AND the focus is on a good God, not a scary or angry one. The men who wrote the Bible wanted a strong warrior God, and to be sure They are! (One position--three beings who fill it.) But there is such a difference between Their preferred will and Their allowed will. Love and freedom are Their greatest values. Episode 1 is my fantasy of Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 with Revelation 12-–the universe before us. Listen to Abba, Adonai and Ruach converse and see how evil could enter a perfect world—a perfect creation!

The ark has been captured by the Philistines—an interesting story of God’s reality and his keeping power. The Philistine‘s are more respectful than the Israelites, however, and that’s interesting too.

This continues the discussion of what happened before our creation based on Revelation 12, Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28. Great points about who God is.

Great window on family systems and how God trusts a 12 year old with a difficult prophecy because he is willing to listen to Him. So different from Samson, Samuel now loves that he has been chosen by God.

This story shows how hard it was for Abba and Ruach to accept Adonai’s idea and offer that he come and be our do-over should it be necessary because of human failure. Paul calls this the plan that was in place before our creation.

Adjustment comes for Samuel, God’s presence and Eli kindness and love help.

We are going through bk one again—the story before us: how Lucifer became Satan in The Real Story of Cosmic Love and War.

God says yes, Hannah has Samuel and is overjoyed!

This is the extended story before our story — how Elohim was true to Their own characters in dealing with Lucifer’s defection.

Samuel’s mother is desperate and so makes a deal with God—I used to hate this story so did some research. It’s still not good but not as bad as I’d thought.

Another one of the desperate crazy deals people made with God—the story of Samuel.

Where did evil come from? Did God create it? Or did he just create the possibility because there had to be one if freedom is real. This is that story the one that Bible authors knew but nobody told until revelation 12.

The ending of Samson’s story makes no sense without adding all the thoughts and feelings that had to be there.

This is my version (hopefully Ruach’s) of what happened in heaven before our creation—the story every Bible author seemed to know at least a bit of—but nobody told except bits and pieces until Revelation 12–and then hugely symbolic and the beginning definitely truncated. This is Episode 1.

The plot thickens for Samson as he allows himself to fall in love again.

This is another crazy story in the time of the judges, but so interesting the calling, gifting AND the freedom God gives us!

We go back to the beginning of the Love’s Playbook series and look at the story that preceded our creation. It’s quite an eye-opener.

Here begins the story of Samson which is a great study in family systems. Favor is a hard burden to carry. And God’s favor can be used for good or bad. They give gifts but leave us free to choose how we fulfill our calling or not.

Jesus’ brorther Jude becomes a believer and starts out to write a treatise on the beauty of what Jesus did for them, but becomes concerned that they need to know about posers or pretenders coming in among them, leading them away. People who are actually ungodly. What follows is a discussion of what it means to be godly or ungodly and a personal story that illustrates choosing a path other than the abuse you were raised in.

It’s so interesting to me that not a lot is recorded about the good years and good judges. What makes it into history is when Israel needs God and a deliverer.
