(00:00):
Welcome to the show that gives you the tools to break through into all you were created to be.
It's the Pam Raimi Show and Jesus, girls and guys, let's find our roar.
Hey, hey, hey, Jesus, girls and guys, welcome back to the Pam Raimi Show.
(00:20):
It's so good to have you with us today and wow, am I excited to have my good
friend and my pastor, one of my pastors, Jenner Jones. Hey everybody!
Back in the studio! I'm back, I'm back.
She's back. Yes. And I'm super excited.
It's good to be here. It's so good to have you. You're my girl.
(00:43):
We are like two peas in a pod.
We are definitely two peas in a pod. Two peas in a pod.
And I'm so excited, Jenna, because today we're going to be talking about something
that God put on your heart to really call women to action in the month of August
for prayer. Talk to us about that.
(01:04):
You know, in July, I was like, Lord, what is, you know, we have a women's ministry at our church.
We meet one time a month. And usually that's testimony time.
And unless the Holy Spirit kind of redirects. But this last month,
he put on my heart, we need to be in a season of prayer like never before.
Of course, everyone's feeling that.
There's so much going on in the world. There's so much going on in our personal
(01:26):
lives. It is time to push in prayer.
So here we go. I could not agree more.
And so you looked online and you found this concept of a prayer square.
And it was something that I had never heard of before. But maybe you could explain
that to our listeners. Yes, a world-renowned speaker, Jenny,
(01:47):
I believe, Donnelly is her name.
And she came up, she was like, Lord, what is a concept that I can do to present
to women around the world and how to get them to push in prayer?
And she actually had a dream, and the dream was this square, this like the square.
And anyways, there's a long story behind that.
(02:08):
But she woke up from that dream and was like, Lord, why am I seeing a picture of a square?
And God spoke to her and was like, you know how in your city, there's a city square.
And that city is responsible for that territory.
I love that. And she's like, you, I want women to write four categories down,
pray five minutes a day, which is 20, not five minutes a day,
(02:31):
but five minutes on each square.
It's a total of 20 minutes a day. and they're praying over their territory.
And that's what we went over with our ladies here at the church.
And we did a prayer square this last August for our breakthrough.
And I'm telling you, it has activated prayer on the inside of us.
It really has. And really declaring.
(02:51):
So how we did the square, and we can talk about how we created the square.
So we took, there's four categories. We talked about praying for ourselves,
our families, the nation, and the church.
And we took about five to ten minutes, and we asked, so we took ourselves.
Okay, we're praying about ourselves. Lord, what do I need to be praying for
(03:15):
about me in this season? And we asked the Holy Spirit.
And then we took, and then maybe it was a rhema word.
Maybe it was, you know, he was like, Jana, you need to focus in this season.
So I wrote down, Jana, you need a focus. You need to pray for focus.
And then we took a scripture and we Googled like, Lord, focus.
(03:37):
What are some things about how to focus in the Bible?
So we could really flesh that out and it was wonderful. You can pray,
but you got to work the word, the word over your life because,
you know, truth will set you free.
You got to have knowledge to receive the truth.
That truth will set us free. So if you're dealing with anxiety or trying to
(03:58):
stay focused, you got to get the word on the inside of you because that is what will set you free.
And I love so much that you said that because it is absolutely true.
There is an answer for every single thing that we are going through in our lives.
And we're going to go, we're going to continue with those other three squares.
But there is an answer for every single thing that any of us are experiencing in the word of God.
(04:22):
And God says, hey, I've made you promises about these specific areas of your
life, but you're not going to receive that unless you line up your words with
my word, with my promises,
because his promises are yes and amen.
You know, I'm so sick of driving my own car in my life. I mean,
(04:42):
it's so easy for us women, for sure.
We want to be in control of everything. We want a plan of the next three months.
I mean, we're just really trucking down in life.
Prayer. I felt like the Holy Spirit said, we need to let God do the driving in our lives.
It is so important that we get back to the focus of why we live, why we breathe.
(05:06):
We are created to serve our God. And so prayer is the key in this season.
In Him, we live and breathe and have our being.
And I love that scripture. Jenna, So we know that there are four squares that
we're really committed to praying succinctly and intentionally into for the month of August,
(05:29):
although it's going to carry on beyond that. The first one is ourselves.
What's the second one? Praying over our family.
And you actually spoke about that at Breakthrough. And you gave so many nuggets
about what you feel like you need to be praying over your family.
Well, I think with our families, you know, I think it's easier as moms to pray
(05:53):
over our families more than, like, I will pray for my family way more than I'll pray for myself.
And so I love that we do have ourselves on there.
There's a lot about myself. There's a lot about myself. And I'll tell you,
I'm just going to kind of go back for a second.
But for me, it was distractions. distractions and God was very definitive with me.
(06:14):
As soon as I said, Holy Spirit, what really has got to go for my life?
And he, and he pointed out something.
So to me, it was a little thing, but it was a thing that was taking up way too much of my time.
And it was a mindless thing, a mindless activity.
And it's weird because I laid it down. He told me to lay it down and I can't
(06:36):
believe how challenging it has been to fast this little thing.
Which is no big thing, but it has really changed me this month because it's
driven me more into a relationship with Jesus.
Because when we pray, we're having a relationship and a conversation with our Father.
(06:56):
And Jana, sometimes do you think that people can just make, we can make prayer
too difficult. We can make it too complicated.
And it's really not complicated, is it? No. Prayer is... Why do we pray?
Let's ask that. Why do we pray? Prayer is the key to unlock the resource of
(07:17):
heaven to our reality. That is prayer.
And then sometimes we can put prayer
in a box and we got to pray for 20 minutes, which we are doing that.
Prayer is all about a relationship. It's all about a relationship without season.
It takes more than just 20 minutes. It's a relationship of just spending time
(07:38):
when I'm cooking dinner and I'm cleaning the dishes and I'm talking with my
father and that's right.
And I'm, I'm telling about the cares that I have on my mind.
And then I have to work that care with the word, like, Lord,
you've got that. I just trust you with that.
You know, you know, one of the things the the Holy Spirit was talking to me
about, you deal with fear.
(07:58):
Sometimes I'm like, no, I don't have any fear. But he spoke with me when we
were writing our squares about ourselves.
He was like, you need to deal with a little bit of fear. You've got some fear
about some things, and you need to take control off of that and let me have that.
And stop walking, because there's no fear in perfect love.
There is no fear in perfect love. And then going back to what you said,
(08:20):
Jenna, when we line our words up with his words, his word tells us that we don't have a spirit of fear.
That's right. He literally has not given us a spirit of fear.
Therefore, whenever we do feel fear, we know that it's not coming from God because
he says, I have not given you a spirit of fear.
So I, and that helps me so much because when I do get into fear,
(08:43):
I go, wait a second, stop right there.
Fear, you are a spirit and you have to bow your knee to the name of Jesus because
every, You know, how I deal with fear is,
you know, the scripture that comes to my, it was like Luke 12,
32, it says, do not be afraid. He says, little flock.
And I'm like, that part right there ministered to me so much because when I'm
(09:07):
in fear, I do not understand that I have a father and dad that loves me,
that's going to provide for me and take care of me. He says,
don't be afraid, little flock.
Janet, my little girl. That's so good. That's so good. And your father has chosen
gladly to give you the kingdom.
So be at peace, you know. Be at peace, little flock.
(09:30):
Because I love you. I'm your daddy. And then I'm like, okay,
why am I in fear? I'm just going to trust you, Lord.
I let you drive this in my life. I love that.
And then I'm just like, I'm not going to think about it anymore.
And then you're able to walk out of fear because you've lined yourself up with
the word of God. Amen, amen.
That is great, Jenna. And so this is why we did the prayer square,
(09:52):
because it gave us a moment of relationship to stop for a moment,
like, Lord, what are some things I need to pray over myself?
And then we ask them through the word, and then we've been declaring those things.
And then we've been declaring those things and calling those things forth that
are not as though they already are.
And then we were just talking about the family. And for me, I have...
(10:14):
Some prodigals. My, my children are grown. I have two grown sons and I pray
Isaiah 55 over them every day that all of my children are being taught of the Lord right now.
I declare that God, and you may have prodigals, you may be in the same situation
as me, where you might feel discouraged because you've raised your children,
(10:38):
you know, to serve God and to love God.
And But God says, I am teaching all of your children are being taught of the Lord.
And I claim that promise. I live for that promise.
And then he says, and great shall be your children's peace.
I speak peace over my children. And I, I declare, and I know that I know that
(10:59):
I know that God is answering those prayers and my children's lives will collide
with the people that God causes for them to collide with.
God is supernaturally directing their path. So parents, as you're paying for
your family, don't lose hope.
Do not lose hope. And, Jenna, you have school-age children. So for you, it's different.
(11:20):
It doesn't matter what we see. It doesn't matter what we hear.
We just got to stand on the word. I have a sister that is in the LGBTQ community,
and I have been praying for her for years.
I mean, she's been in this lifestyle for about 15 years.
And I saw something the other day, and I was like, oh, my gosh.
Like how deep can she go
(11:42):
and in my in my natural i'm like there's no
hope for her there's no hope but then the holy spirit
checked he's like no no you pray you release heaven over her life does it matter
what you see in your children yeah how bad their behavior the behavior is you
just release our job is to release heaven over that situation that's right you
(12:04):
push does Does it matter? Just be obedient and pray.
We are called to be women of prayer, women of strength.
That's how we are strong, is when we release heaven over our families,
over our children, over our spouses, and that's it.
And let God do the rest. And let God do the rest. The golden rule.
It is. It's so true. And, you know, we have to, as we release heaven over earth,
(12:29):
we have to see that there is healing.
You know, when God said to Abraham, hey, look up in the sky and how many stars
are up there? And he's like a gazillion.
And he said, well, you're you're seed.
You're you're in.
(12:49):
Your, what's the word I'm looking for, your generation, what's coming forth
from you will exceed every one of those stars that you're looking at right now.
Well, he was an old man when God said that to him.
He had to believe that. He had to believe the word that God said to him.
And so he declared it as though he said, you call those things forth,
(13:09):
Abraham, as though they already are.
And that's what we have to do. That's really prayer, right, Jana? Yes.
You know, the Holy Spirit said, we've been in such a season of transition for so long.
And, you know, just like a woman is giving birth.
The last part is the hardest.
You see, the miracle is the hardest. And so many people give up during that
(13:33):
transition time or they quit. They change churches.
They, you know, they're done. They quit their jobs because they're just fed
up. But God is saying, no, no, just follow.
If you don't know, if you're in a transition right now, I feel the Holy Spirit.
You're in a transition right now, and you need to stop for a moment and always
tell, just follow peace.
(13:54):
Boy, that's a good word. Don't ever transition when there's conflict or because there's opportunity.
That's right. You transition when the Holy Spirit says to transition,
and you are walking in peace.
So let's keep that. But we are in transition of pushing into something. Yes, we are.
And we are doing that in prayer. That's how we're pushing through to see this
(14:17):
miracle is to don't give up.
No matter how hard it is, no matter if you're not seeing anything change,
you don't give up and we are going to push through and see the miracle that God has promised.
Amen. And you don't give up. And I'm going back to your analogy of being in the birth canal. Yeah.
That's a very uncomfortable place to be for the mother and for the baby.
(14:40):
Oh, yeah. Because that baby's skull has to collapse to get through that birth canal.
This is a very uncomfortable place for everybody.
And it's in that moment where a
woman is barfing her
guts out totally i mean it's like i remember
the nurse saying to me every time she goes every time you throw up him it's
(15:04):
good for another centimeter and i'm like don't say that to me okay okay okay
but it's a hard hard season i love what you just said we can't give up before
we see the miracle because even if we make a mistake even if What if we make a mistake?
Okay, this is like a sad thing. Oh, yeah, that's good. You know,
when I was going into labor with my daughter and my son, for some reason I was
(15:25):
like, I need to go get food before I go to the hospital because I was already starting transition.
We waited to go to the hospital for a really long time. I was like,
you know what? I better get some food.
And with Sophia, I went by subway and I made a mistake.
I thought I knew what I was going to be doing and what I needed.
(15:46):
Did but i did not need that subway of course
that ended up in my bag yeah during transition so
you know and that's just spirit yeah in the natural in the spiritual in god
is calling us to be obedient he's got a better plan you might think you need
to stop and get a subway but he's saying go just keep on going because the blessings
(16:07):
on the blessings on its way the blessings on its way.
And the interesting thing is, is when you are handed that baby,
you forget about the, you forget about, you forget about all the pain when the blessing comes,
but you have to exercise a lot of muscle and push to get that baby, to get that miracle.
(16:30):
And so let's even talk about the faith, our faith muscle, Jana.
Yes. Do we have to exercise our faith muscle as we're pushing to get the miracle,
as we're being so dedicated and intentional about not giving up on pushing through?
(16:52):
You know, the Bible says faith without works is dead. Is dead.
And it's not the striving. It's not the just, oh, I'm going to go away in my prayer. I think God...
He wants that relationship. He does not, he's called, faith without works is dead.
Now, works is just like actually opening up our mouths and just pushing through,
(17:15):
releasing the heaven over that situation.
And then we have to operate in faith. You know, now, not tomorrow,
but now faith is a substance of things hoped for.
It might be not the evidence of things not seen. Amen.
It's now. I believe the word, and I'm going to work the word,
(17:36):
and I'm going to see that word manifest in my life, period.
But right now, just speaking it, believing it, there's something about if you're
not seeing a miracle in your life, if you're not seeing a situation change.
Maybe look at your heart.
I'm praying it. I'm working it.
(17:57):
I'm spending 30 minutes. but let's just
let's rewind or go backwards a little
bit where's your heart is it just because a manufactured
way of living this life with the
lord let's rewind a little bit and say lord where's my
heart i love you so much yeah oh lord i
love you so much i don't even care if i don't see
the mirror i mean i'm just saying it's like that heart attitude of like
(18:20):
it is the heart i just love you I believe in your word you're my best friend
you're there for me so faith is all about it's not a manufactured thing or what
we have taught we love our pastor here at Abiding Church because he's my husband we do love him.
(18:40):
You have got to get the word for yourself. Yeah. And you've got to make it a
part of you. You've got to believe it with all your heart. And nobody can do
it for you. No one can do it for you.
But faith, just knowing that if it's just as simple as knowing that he is your
daddy, he loves you, he'll never leave you or forsake you, and you operate faith
in that, you'll see a manifestation.
(19:02):
You will. Because his promises are yes and amen. It is done.
It is done. And also, his word is alive. When you read his word,
listeners, think about his word, just dancing off of the page.
Think about the word lifting up off the page, speaking to you.
(19:22):
Jesus is the word. He came as the word. Jesus is the word made flesh, but we have his word.
And so when you read his word, it's not a static document.
It is alive.
It gives you energy. It gives you energy. It gives you, it does what it says it does.
(19:42):
So just do it. Just do it. Just finish through, grab your word.
Yeah. And just, where do I start? Just open it up. Yeah. I mean,
every scripture you'll start getting in, even in the Old Testament.
I'm like, there is some drama up in here.
There is some drama up in here. There is some good stuff.
It's true. I'm like, Craig, did you listen to the story? They're cray cray.
They are crazy back there. I know.
You know, I'm like, this is like the drama with like all kinds of stuff.
(20:08):
So get in the word. Get in the word.
And, Jana, as you're speaking of drama, let's talk about our third category, which is our nation.
Yes. And how we trickle down and how we pray for the territory of our nation. Yes.
Well, the territory of our nation, you know, that is the third square that we
(20:28):
have been praying over is our nation.
And as our responsibility to declare over our nation, we think my words don't
matter. They matter. No one will understand.
Whoever's going to get in the White House, it's not even my responsibility except to vote.
No, but our words have—we were asking the Holy Spirit, Lord,
what do I need to pray for over the nations?
(20:49):
And I was like, God, we need to pray for justice.
God has given us plans. God, I ask you to push the plans through in our government.
God, push your plans. I declare Jeremiah 29, 11 over nations.
I declare that you're going to push your plans through. God,
I thank you, Lord, that you're going to get the right person.
(21:10):
In our presidency in November, Lord, I declare that you're going to push through
godly advisors, godly men and women in that need to be where they need to be. Amen.
And I'll tell you, one of the things I declare, and I thank God that he made
a covenant with our founders.
He has a covenant with the United States of America.
(21:33):
And I just call forth that covenant that we are one nation under God.
We were founded as one nation under God.
And so when we look at our nation, Jenna, we were talking about how we even,
you know, it's our governmental leaders. But it's on our state level.
It's our territory. That's our territory. Yeah, it's our city.
(21:55):
It's our counties. It's our school districts.
It's every bit of government. Yeah. Right? Yeah. We've got to pray. Got to pray.
It's very important. You know, you hear a lot that the church is not doing enough.
It's the church's responsibility.
And it 100% is because we haven't stayed focused to hearing what the Holy Spirit wants.
(22:16):
That's right. But it's as simple as you or I, if our kid is in elementary,
get on the, what is the room mom?
Yeah. Or whatever. Being a room mother, PTA. PTA. PTA.
Or the school board. How you can be a voice. Yes. You know, how you can...
Affect a whole generation. If God says do it, I know it takes a lot of work,
(22:39):
but I need you in that atmosphere.
That's your territory. That's where your kids go. That is your territory and
that's your responsibility.
Amen. That's awesome. And I know that a group of people from our church will
sometimes get together and just walk around the school, the schoolyards before
school starts and just declare, you know, safety over the children,
healing over the children.
(22:59):
We are We are being the church when we are doing that. Yes, we are.
That's when we're activating. That is when we are the church. But you follow joy, too.
I have to say real quick, you know, we could be doing all kinds of things,
and then you're getting all stressed because you're not following the lane that God has you.
And follow peace. I can't stress that enough. Follow the things that bring you
joy. You know, like you're doing this amazing podcast.
(23:22):
Doesn't that bring you joy? Oh, so much joy. That's why it sustains.
That's why it grows, because this is the lane that God has called you in. Right.
And it's fruitful and it brings you joy. You're not dreading it or you're not
just because, no, you're following peace. You follow joy.
That's all he's called to do. He'll do the rest. You know, I love so much that you said that.
That is really important because a lot of times people pray out of obligation.
(23:47):
And then, you know, what that becomes is legalistic.
So if you go, OK, I have to get my 20 minutes in today. I have to do it.
Then that's then it's just it's legalistic relationship. It's relationship.
It is like you said. I mean, like driving in my car, sometimes I'm just like,
honestly, ugly crying because Because I just am so in love with Jesus.
(24:08):
And I just want to go, I love you so much.
You're my best friend. You feel disconnected when you're not.
That's prayer. I mean, it's like your spouse. You just feel disconnected.
And just like, you need to talk to him. You need to have that communication.
You got to have the intimacy.
Got to have it. He's in the corner somewhere, you know? And I don't want that.
I want God to be driving me.
My life. And you got to choose that every day. We have to choose it every day.
(24:32):
Jenna, let's go to our fourth category, which is the church.
Because I mean, we're segwaying right in there right now.
The church is the answer. Is the church the answer?
Right? Yes. You know, the Holy Spirit was like, Lord, we need an explosion of prayer in our lives.
And I just been declaring prayer, a huge awakening for prayer because there's heaven. It's true.
(24:54):
You're You're releasing heaven over those things, over the church, over the body.
And so I've been declaring, Lord, release an evangelistic spirit that souls will be saved. Amen.
It will come to your word, your truth. The truth sets you free.
The church, the land, specifically for our church and what he wants to do in our community.
(25:17):
So there's so many things that we need to be declaring over the church.
We really do, because the world is dying from a broken heart and desperately
needs what is living on the inside of God's people.
And that's got to be released on the earth. And it's got to be released on the
earth. We were raised up, Jana, for such a time as this.
(25:39):
Such a time as this. Esther's on the ground. Esther's boots on the ground. Boots on the ground.
Yeah. That's what we're declaring. And what did Esther do? What did God use Esther to do?
To save a nation. Save a nation. Yeah.
He said, if you're not going to do it, I'm going to get somebody else to do it. That's right.
He called Esther to do it, and she was obedient, and she went into territory that seemed scary.
(25:59):
She could have lost her life, but she just did it anyways. She was just being obedient.
And God said, for such a time as this, go, push, move, declare.
Let's go. Let's go. Let's take the nation in the name of Jesus.
Let's take the nation in the name of Jesus. And even when you feel like you're
pushing and you're pushing and you're pushing and nothing's happening and you feel like, man,
(26:24):
I have been coming before my father so long with this with this same request.
Things are happening. They are. They are happening. Whether you see them or
not, God is making the crooked way straight. He is.
Trust the process. He is leveling the mountains. He is raising up the valleys.
(26:45):
He is making the dry parched lands spring forth with fresh water.
He's doing that. Trust it in the name of Jesus. He's a good father.
Yes. You have a good, we have a good, good father. Yeah. Yeah,
who delights, Matthew 7, 11, who delights. Amen.
Absolutely. He has so much fun
(27:05):
giving good gifts to his little girls and boys, doesn't he, Jana? Amen.
So I challenge all your listeners, make a square.
You can take a regular piece of paper, you know, make four little sections on
your piece of paper, ask the Holy Spirit, what do I need to be praying over
myself, my family, the nation, and the church? and just stay committed to saying, you know what?
(27:28):
I'm going to pray 20 minutes a day and then see that grow into a more of a relationship
with the Lord and see things change in your life.
Amen. And if you, and I also want to go back to what you said at the beginning
of the show, get your Google scriptures.
Like when, when God gives you a word, like God gave Jana the word focus, Google scriptures
(27:51):
that, you know, that, that talk about being focused and then pray those scriptures,
just pray those scriptures, make them personal, right? That's right.
Let's declare that God is going to drive our lives, not ourselves.
That's right. We're taking, taking the city, taking the land,
taking our territory for such a time as this. For such a time as this.
(28:13):
And listeners, that's what we're encouraging you with right now. Pray, push.
Things are happening. happening, find joy because the joy of the Lord is our strength.
The joy of the Lord is our strength and cast your cares upon him because his
burden is easy and light.
(28:35):
