Zombie Horror: 28 Years Later (2025) + Day of the Dead (1985)

We’re kicking off our October Horror Series by diving into one of the genre’s most enduring sub-genres: Zombies!

Before the zombie mayhem, we share some quick spoiler-free thoughts on The Long Walk, the new Stephen King adaptation in theaters now (0:07)— and yes, it more than lives up to the hype.

First, we go back to the gore-filled roots with George A. Romero’s Day of the Dead (Peacock) (08:34)— a classic that still drips atmosphere (and guts). 

Then, we jump into the future with Danny Boyle’s long-awaited return in 28 Years Later (Netflix), the modern reinvention that has us terrified all over again (56:36).
