For quite some time now, I have held in far too much about how I feel about my own mental health and how it is approached in society. Due to my own inability to function anywhere in the middle ground, I will now make a leap from repressed to over sharing.
With that, I would like to introduce to you my new podcast The Things That I Haven’t Even Told My Therapist.
There will be more news to come shortly, but I wanted to share this introductory bit to help raise awareness. Over the coming weeks (and hopefully even longer into the future) I will tell my story and speak to my own experiences as well as bring in outside voices to support and expand on the ideas I would like to address.
Everyone knows that talking to someone about your struggles is never easy, especially when that individual is a relative stranger you are paying to listen and has a degree to pick apart every little piece of your subconscious. So, I started this podcast in the hopes of finally being able to address honestly the matters that I have faced with the hope that these experiences perhaps can relate to something any of you may be struggling with. I hope these ideas speak to you and that you can find some way to engage emotionally, because I know I have already discovered and confronted so much about myself.
Finally, a special thank you to Pixabay.com for the Royalty Free music I use on the show!

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
