Hello there and welcome to our half way point episode of Season 4 of Theatrical Shenanigans.
Our play this week comes from DC based playwright Andrew Martineau (https://newplayexchange.org/users/1036/andrew-martineau), who joined me as a guest back in Season 2 to discuss George Sapio's play "Maria and Little Joey Have A Baby" (https://theatricalshenanigans.podbean.com/e/s02-e09-episode-9-maria-little-joey-have-a-baby-andrew-martineau/).
Andrew's play for this episode is entitled "Spin Cycle" (https://newplayexchange.org/script/2037126/spin-cycle).
Synopsis:
Mandy is sitting in a laundromat waiting on her clothes. She is reading a tabloid magazine when Jim enters. Jim gets upset when he realizes he forgot his detergent. The two strike up a conversation, which involves a discussion about Jim's fiancée, who lives in Alaska and has been milking him for money for the past eleven years. The two start to bond, which might be leading to a new romance as they sit and wait for their clothes to get clean.
Cast:
Jim - Jeff Priskorn (www.jeffpriskorn.com)
Mandy - Angela Sarabia (https://newplayexchange.org/users/83860/angela-sarabia)
And, to discuss this wonderful play I am joined by award-winning artist, playwright, and librettist Catherine Filloux (https://www.catherinefilloux.com/).
