Featured in WYGYFF Episode 13: Kenyon Ross Jr., better known Defiance Douglass, who records and performs under the band name Exiles of the Nation. Founded in Atlanta in 2005, EOTN has released some 20 eclectic funk-rock albums featuring Douglas’ inimitable composing; vocals; keyboards, drums and other sonic elements; and production.

He was born into a musical family that in the 1970s recorded as the Family Plann and today perform as The Ross Brothers Band, of which he is a member. His latest studio works are 2025's 1983 and 2024’s 12-song LP, titled after the group’s acronym, EOTN.

Paraphrasing George Clinton, funk is whatever it needs to be to get you over the hump. Thus, guests can explain where they got their grit, perseverance, inspiration, talent, creativity, character or other qualities that shaped them into who they are today. This serves as a springboard into candid, in-depth and engrossing conversations.
